Chapter 1305: Chapter 632: Demon Cave of the Immortal Domain
Divine Court Illusion Realm? Taixu Cave Heaven? Primordial Spirit Secret Technique? What kind of magic is this...
"Roar————!"
Just as Tie Dan was puzzled, there suddenly came a thunderous roar from the other side of the Purple Bamboo Forest, as if a dragon and wolf were howling.
Tie Dan immediately leaped up, using Qinggong to ascend the branches, looked out over the bamboo forest, and clearly saw a massive Yazi beast struggling and roaring within the forest, besieged by hundreds of male and female cultivators. Although the Yazi still stood as a forty-zhang colossal demon beast, it appeared to have no strength, entangled by countless silken cloths, unable to move.
And those cultivators didn’t appear in bizarre forms like those before; each was dressed as a serious cultivation practitioner. Some were playing musical instruments and chanting spells, some bravely approached to join the siege, while others, employing unknown magic, transformed into three-headed, six-armed dharma manifestations of gods and demons, pouncing forward to suppress the Yazi.
Not just the Primordial Spirit, even Heart Demons can manifest, interesting...
Tie Dan watched for a while, but soon was disappointed again...
Hmm, although these demon heads have some curious tricks, their attack power is lamentable. A hundred people besieging and battering can’t even remove a single scale from the Yazi. They can only use that Immortal Silk Secret Technique to barely hold it down. Moreover, it’s not really them holding it down; the Yazi is just full and dizzy, too lazy to move...
Tie Dan wasn’t in a hurry to rescue. Hah, rescue my foot, this Yazi beast is incorrigible, deserves a beating; it took him five hundred years to barely tame it, and now someone is helping to hold it down, just perfect.
Tie Dan immediately flew out of the bamboo forest, circled a school town at the mountain’s base, discovering that this sect was actually called Mo Mountain, not Demon Mountain. It seemed to be a lineage Chen Xuantian encountered during a great adventure in Yun Meng in a Different World.
Unlike the reclusive habits of the Mystic Sect Mountain People, these Mo Mountain cultivators didn’t stay secluded in mountain summits for closed-door meditation, but lived as Daoist companion families at the mountain’s base, forming a small town around a Yizhuang-like Taoist temple. The town had hundreds of adult cultivators, all having gone to the bamboo forest to fight the beast, except a few leading ones in the Divinity Transformation Realm, the rest mostly Nascent Soul Realm mixed cultivators, all of which Tie Dan could easily dispatch.
Inside the Yizhuang, dozens of children yet to reach Core Formation were self-studying in the main hall, with an old black-robed Daoist of the Nascent Soul Realm nodding off beneath two large characters ’Heaven’ and ’Ghost’ painted in black ink. Tie Dan watched outside for a while, realizing the old Daoist couldn’t sense his presence, promptly walked inside and curiously leafed through the texts the kids were studying.
From these courses, it was evident that the core thought of Mo Mountain naturally adhered to the Mo Family’s doctrines, yet wasn’t restricted to them, also comprising teachings from the Five Arts of Xuanmen, True Lineage of refining essence and building foundation, combat skill body refinement from the Immortal Palace, and marvelous techniques of blood refining the primordial spirit from the Divine Sect. There were even tutorials on mathematics, physics, chemistry, spaceship navigation, and mecha maintenance from certain companies. In short, the youngsters had to encompass the strengths of myriad schools, with textbooks, teaching materials, and exam papers piled mountain high, leaving them overwhelmed...
Of course, its content remained too basic and superficial for kids; each sect’s materials merely offered elementary introductions. Corresponding to Mystic Sect, it belonged only to the child stage, without reaching the proficiency for tailored teaching or formal discipleship—nothing appeared extraordinary for now.
So Tie Dan passed through the main hall, walking to the rear where a plaza spread out. In its center wasn’t a Pill Furnace, but a huge stone shrine, showing clear imprint marks on the ground suggesting a statue initially stood there, yet was now empty, as if the statue had wandered off.
Surrounding the plaza, besides the main hall, seven side rooms were scattered, each featuring a landscape painting within, depicting various deities, ghosts, and monsters, some with beast bodies and human heads, some with beast heads and human bodies, some multi-headed and multi-limbed, all sorts of strange forms, all unprecedented demons and foul creatures, or evil god aberrations.
The rooms also contained seven coffins, aligned in pairs with a young male and female lying inside. Well, not necessarily male-female, sometimes male-male or female-female combinations. Viewing Qi, it seemed akin to Leisure Sect’s Dual Cultivation method, aimed for harmony between Yin and Yang, structuring a Taiji complete Great Dao pairing.
The trouble was, this sect’s Dual Cultivation differed from the common kind; whether Leisure Sect or Qingtang Sect, Dual Cultivation took place on a bed within chambers. Yet Mo Mountain’s Dual Cultivation occurred lying in coffins, naturally suggesting these were all deceased.
Indeed, opening the coffins revealed the dead, some with relatively fresh human forms, bodies not yet stiff, others long deceased, clearly decomposed and fused. What family’s strange evil technique this was—lying in coffins neither truly alive nor dead, performing refining essence, viewing the Evil God Demon Ancestor, engaging in Core Formation and Body Enhancement—the like Tie Dan had never encountered before, not even in the Xiaoyao Sect.
The entire small town was quite limited, easily toured thoroughly, other families’ interiors featuring ordinary setups, evidently serving as everyday dwellings, no more peculiar compared to the Mystic Sect’s.
