Secret Marriage: The CEO's Pampered Wife
Chapter 372 - 354: Who Are You Talking About? (1)
The thought of Georgia Thorne in Erin Irving’s hands was agonizing for him.
The group moved quickly. Before they even made it up, a call came from Erin Irving.
"If a single hair on her head is harmed, you’ll answer to me!"
Erin Irving’s cheerful laugh came from the other end of the line. "Who are you referring to?"
Before he could even say Georgia Thorne’s name, Erin Irving hung up.
Elliot Sheridan was moving quickly, and Dylan Heston rushed forward to grab him. "Sharon, slow down! Look!"
He gestured ahead. Elliot followed his gaze to see Erin Irving standing on the edge of a cliff.
It was dusk. The sun sank below the sea’s horizon, painting the clouds a brilliant, fiery red.
The tide was coming in, and waves battered the cliff layer by layer as a fierce wind howled.
The men Dylan Heston brought were held back a hundred meters by Erin Irving’s people. Dylan and William were also stopped, ten meters away.
Elliot Sheridan strode forward alone, his expression grim. Braving the wind, he walked right up to Erin Irving. "Where are they!"
Erin Irving was still wearing the same suit from that afternoon, giving him the air of a perfect gentleman, if not for the bruise on his face that made him look slightly worse for wear.
His hands were shoved in his pockets. "The people you want are here. So what about what *I* want?"
Erin Irving had clearly come prepared, with over a dozen men behind him—more than Elliot had brought.
Behind Erin Irving stood Aidan Sheridan, Quentin Chase, and Miles. Their eyes were blindfolded with black cloth, and they shivered in the sea wind.
But she wasn’t there. The one he was looking for was missing.
"What do you want!" Elliot’s hands, hanging at his sides, clenched into fists. He desperately reined himself in, afraid he would give in to the impulse to slug Erin Irving again.
Erin Irving snapped his fingers, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Simple. Transfer all of your shares in the Sheridan Group to me!"
"Erin Irving, have you lost your mind?!" William burst out, unable to stomach it. Erin’s demand was utterly outrageous.
Demanding all of Elliot Sheridan’s shares was tantamount to taking the company from him for free.
Elliot pressed his lips together, saying nothing. Erin Irving shot William a cold glance before letting his gaze fall back on Elliot’s face. "You’re the one driving this game. You have five minutes to think it over!"
"Erin Irving, if you know what’s good for you, let them go right now. Don’t—"
William started forward angrily but was stopped by Dylan Heston. "That’s enough!"
Erin Irving was ruthless. The fact that he’d managed to kidnap Aidan and the others proved he had absolutely no regard for their lives.
Erin Irving was capable of it, but Elliot Sheridan was not.
With Georgia Thorne in their hands, he couldn’t possibly remain indifferent.
The five minutes ticked away, second by second, as Erin Irving continued his countdown. "I hear you’re always decisive, so why the hesitation now? Can’t bear to part with your company, or can’t you bear to part with these people? Time is almost up. If you don’t give me an answer soon, I’ll just assume you don’t want them. That makes their lives your responsibility!"
The three hostages’ hands were tied behind their backs. The sound of a child’s sobs reached Elliot’s ears, and Quentin Chase began to cry as well.
Elliot’s gaze grew darker. "You want to beat me just once that badly?"
He took a step forward, unafraid of Erin Irving’s threats. "And here I thought your ambitions were bigger than this. I never expected you only wanted my shares."
The intensity emanating from Elliot was overwhelming. Erin Irving had seen him angry before, but never this grim. It was an unnerving cold that struck fear before a fight could even begin.
"Of course, that’s not the only condition. The second is for you to get on your knees and give me three loud kowtows. Once I’m satisfied, I’ll give you back every single person!" Erin Irving psyched himself up. ’There’s nothing to be afraid of.’
’He held all the bargaining chips. He would be the one to win.’
Even Dylan Heston couldn’t listen to this anymore. He stood his ground and said in a low voice, "Erin Irving, you should be merciful when you have the upper hand. Why do you have to humiliate him like this?"
A man’s pride is in his knees. Elliot Sheridan had never knelt before anyone in his life, not even his own parents. How could he possibly kneel to Erin Irving?
For a man, it was the ultimate humiliation.
Dylan Heston’s voice was loud. His intent was not to warn Erin Irving, but to remind Elliot: don’t throw away your dignity for Georgia Thorne.
However, Dylan Heston had truly underestimated how important Georgia Thorne was to Elliot Sheridan.
"What else?" Elliot said, his voice raw. "You might as well tell me all your conditions at once!"
