Secret Marriage: The CEO's Pampered Wife
Chapter 348 - 332: Two Red Lines?
There were some things Georgia Thorne wasn’t supposed to know, but she knew them all.
Elliot Sheridan had never met Georgia Thorne, so naturally, he didn’t know about her pregnancy.
Elliot Sheridan angrily gritted his teeth and shot a menacing glare at the man before him. ’He’s clearly asking a question he already knows the answer to.’
Dylan Heston said with a grin, "I heard it from Sam Yates. Georgia Thorne is apparently pregnant. She even went to the hospital for an exam. I just don’t know if she can keep the baby after that crash!"
Elliot Sheridan’s expression grew even darker. He would settle the score with Erin Irving, sooner or later.
Visiting hours were limited. The two had only just sat down when a guard came to hurry them along.
"Watch them for me!"
"Oh? Not even born yet and you’re already calling them ’them’!" Dylan Heston chuckled.
Elliot Sheridan gripped his wrist tightly. "I’m in no mood to joke around. If I get out and find a single hair on her head is out of place, I’ll make you regret it!"
Dylan Heston shook his head in resignation, then his expression turned serious. "Fine. You just go ahead and enjoy your time in prison for a bit."
"When Joanne Donovan gets back, pull her into this."
"Already?"
Elliot Sheridan’s gaze was resolute. He rose to his feet as the guard took him into custody. Dylan Heston waved after him. "When you get out in thirty years, we’ll shoot some hoops!"
’So much for not being in a hurry,’ Dylan thought. ’The second he finds out his woman is pregnant, he can’t wait to get things moving.’
After leaving the prison, Dylan Heston called Ethan Fletcher to pass on Elliot Sheridan’s instructions.
"You need to pull out of that project, too. Just let Erin Irving have it all to himself."
"Fine by me. What did Sharon say?"
"Where do you think I just came from?!" Dylan Heston snapped, his voice rising. "We’ll talk later!"
In Elliot Sheridan’s words, giving Erin Irving such a fat prize to swallow all by himself was a risky move. He might not be able to digest it, and could end up choking on it instead.
By using Georgia Thorne as a threat to force Justin Sullivan into submission, Erin Irving had played a ruthless, unscrupulous card. Now, he had made enemies of both Justin Sullivan and Elliot Sheridan.
The game was officially on.
Quincy Rhodes had just taken office and needed to secure her position in the political sphere, which required allies to cooperate with her.
The bidding process soon concluded, and just as everyone expected, the project ultimately went to Erin Irving.
At the press conference, Erin Irving, dressed in an expensive, handmade suit, stood at the podium and spoke about his plans for the project, emphasizing the strong support he had from Quincy Rhodes.
Ever since she saw what was on Elliot Sheridan’s computer, she was no longer surprised by the alliance between Quincy Rhodes and Erin Irving.
They were in the same boat now. Only through mutual support could they maximize their respective gains.
Quincy Rhodes wanted political power, while Erin Irving wanted financial power.
While the press conference was underway, on the other side of Portmire, Joanne Donovan slipped out of the airport unnoticed.
She took off her glasses and gazed up at the clear blue sky. ’I’ve been away for too long,’ she thought. ’The sky at home is still the most beautiful after all.’
’With Elliot Sheridan safely behind bars, I have nothing to worry about anymore.’
Unwilling to go home, Joanne Donovan hailed a cab and headed for a five-star hotel downtown.
Dylan Heston received news of her arrival the moment she landed. By the time she reached her hotel, Erin Irving also found out that the damned woman was back in the country.
The moment the press conference ended, Erin Irving tried to leave.
But the reporters were exceptionally aggressive today, swarming him so he couldn’t get away.
It was an hour later by the time he finally managed to deal with all the reporters.
Joanne Donovan sat in her hotel room, watching the two of them—chatting and laughing on TV—and sneered. ’How ironic.’
She switched off the TV, suddenly at a loss for what to do.
’Now that I’m finally back, what kind of fun should I get into?’
For the past few years, Joanne Donovan had spent her time abroad chasing thrills—the more exciting, the better.
After dressing up with meticulous care, she slipped out of the hotel discreetly.
She had no idea that someone was tailing her.
Erin Irving finally shook off the persistent reporters and told Quincy Rhodes, "Joanne Donovan is back!"
The color drained from Quincy Rhodes’s face. "That’s impossible! I just spoke with her on the phone yesterday. She said she was on vacation!"
"Is that so? Why don’t you check and see if your darling daughter is in Room 8032 at the Grandview Hotel!" Erin Irving sneered, roughly loosening his tie as he strode out.
Joanne Donovan had originally planned to go on a trip, but an unexpected turn of events had caused her to change her mind.
So, she changed her flight and came back. ’Who says you can’t take a vacation in your own country?’
Quincy Rhodes frantically tried to call Joanne Donovan, but her phone was off. Clearly, she didn’t want to be found.
Quincy Rhodes had too much work to do to go to the hotel herself. With no one she could trust enough to send in her place, her only option was to call Erin Irving.
When Erin Irving answered her call, he was sarcastic. "What is it? Did Joanne Donovan suddenly become my daughter?"
"I’ve just taken office; there are too many eyes on me right now. I have to leave Joanne Donovan to you!"
The words had barely left her mouth when the line went dead.
Erin Irving didn’t want to see Joanne Donovan, but to keep her from ruining his plans, he had no choice but to go find her himself.
While Erin Irving was on his way to the hotel, Joanne Donovan was already living it up at a private club.
