Samsara Tower: Only I Know the Plot!

Chapter 462 461: Fairy Protection!

  • Next Chapter

After witnessing Shura's display of violence, nearly every government in the world fell into fear.

So terrifying!

Such destructive power was nothing short of divine.

Thousand Lanterns Island Nation might have been "just an island," but its landmass was no small thing—nearly 181,000 km². To obliterate it with nuclear weapons would require hundreds of large warheads.

(Note: That's about the same size as Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula.)

And yet Shura had sunk it with nothing but his fists.

Such destructive might was unprecedented, unheard of.

From another perspective, Shura alone was worth the combined nuclear arsenal of a major power. What kind of concept was that?

With nuclear weapons effectively unusable in the current age, the saying no longer sounded exaggerated—"Whoever controls Shura controls the world."

If the Jadeveil Nation could win Shura's loyalty, who would dare provoke them in the future?

His mere presence was more terrifying than nuclear deterrence.

Jadeveil Nation's leaders understood this instantly.

"Pass down my order," the supreme official declared. "Give absolute priority to all of Shura's relatives. As long as there's even a decent connection, take care of them!"

No one in the conference room objected. Not a single voice rose in dissent.

—---

Meanwhile, the Thousand Lanterns Island Nation was gone, reduced to an endless sea with no land in sight.

High in the air, many Samsaras floated with their flight abilities. Those without such skills had either drowned or already fled.

Having dealt with Uvall, Fenric turned his gaze on Adam.

"It's your turn, Adam."

His voice was low, cold. Without hesitation, he lunged forward.

"Boom—!"

The air itself cracked, a sonic boom trailing his afterimage as he shattered the blockade of space. In a blink, he was before Adam.

His speed was pushed to the extreme—so fast that even most A-class Samsaras couldn't see clearly.

"Om—!"

Armament Haki surged, wrapping Fenric's fist in black iron will.

Adam's phoenix fruit could only be restrained by Haki or seastone—Fenric knew this well.

His fist shot forward.

But what happened next was shocking.

The destructive power of his strike… vanished.

A ring of red light flared around Adam's body, forming a translucent barrier like a giant eggshell. It absorbed the blow completely.

"What… is this?"

Fenric's brow furrowed.

He struck again, but the result was the same. His power sank into the shield as if into cotton, dissipating without effect. The barrier only rippled slightly before returning to calm.

Even Vivienne, who had seen countless strange powers, had never witnessed something like this. The Samsaras watching from afar were also stunned.

"What's that red light around Adam?"

"It can absorb damage? Even Shura's terrifying punch is useless?"

"Then how do you fight this? Don't tell me Adam's going to turn this around!"

"It won't be that easy, but with this power, Adam just became a nightmare opponent!"

"As expected of S-rank Samsaras… none of them are simple. Incredible."

Murmurs spread, voices tinged with disbelief.

Fenric narrowed his eyes, trying different techniques—the Buddha Palm, his mind power—but nothing could pierce the barrier.

"Shura, let me try!" Vivienne called.

She raised her hands, her voice like a song.

"Hundreds of flowers bloom, crimson brilliance!"

A storm of blossoms appeared, vanishing just as quickly, replaced by countless arms of floral energy wielding blades and drills. They struck from every angle—only to dissolve harmlessly against Adam's shield.

"No!" Vivienne frowned. "This shield… it's strange. I can't touch Adam inside it."

Fenric nodded, already half-expecting this.

Adam, meanwhile, burst into laughter.

"Shura, Aurora, don't waste your strength. This shield carries the power of the law of space. Your attacks can't reach me!"

Fenric stiffened slightly. The law of space… It was the first time he'd heard the term spoken aloud. As expected, it was bizarre and powerful.

"Adam, this isn't your own ability, is it?" Fenric asked.

"Of course not," Adam replied with smug honesty. "This is a special treasure from the 31st dungeon—a magic weapon infused with space law. Once activated, it creates a mana shield that absorbs all damage. Unless you, too, wield the law of space, every strike of yours is wasted."

Then his expression darkened.

"But it's a one-time consumable. I had intended to save it for the 33rd floor. Shura, forcing me to use it early… you'll pay the price!"

"Pay the price?" Fenric gave a cold smile. "The Samsara system never hands out true invincibility. Something like this can't last forever. Ten minutes, perhaps? What then, Adam? How exactly do you plan to make me pay?"

Adam's smile vanished into a grim sneer.

"Ten minutes is all I need. Your current form burns through your energy. How long can you keep it up? When you collapse, I'll strike. I'll take your head and lock it away in a safe space!"

Fenric's eyes narrowed.

So that was Adam's plan. To stall, to let his indestructible state burn out, and then finish him when he was at his weakest.

And the truth was, Adam wasn't wrong. Fenric's Immortal Demon Body had less than two minutes left. Once it ended, he would be plunged into a state of extreme weakness. Flight alone would be difficult, let alone battle.

Originally, Fenric had planned to use his immortal body to crush Adam swiftly. But with Adam hiding behind this "tortoise shell," he had no opening.

For these ten minutes, there was nothing he could do.

Fenric's face deliberately darkened. Then, with a thought, he dismissed his Immortal Demon Body.

Since he couldn't break Adam's shield, keeping up such a draining form was pointless. Better to end it early and preserve enough stamina to stay aloft.
