Chapter 254: Chapter 128: Batman vs. Superman, Superman’s Disdain! (Part 1)

Inside the underground shelter of the Gotham Observatory Clock Tower, rusted pipes gleamed coldly under the dim emergency lights. The air was filled with the pungent scent of mixed dust and machine oil.

Superman’s red and blue figure slowly descended, his heavy footsteps echoing in the cavernous shelter.

His voice was low and suppressed, yet like the muffled thunder before a storm, it shook the surrounding surviving pipes until they buzzed, causing fine particles of rust to shower down.

"Bruce Wayne!"

Superman’s eyes were a translucent crimson, like two clusters of burning blood-colored flames. They locked onto Batman in a death grip, as if intending to scorch the other’s soul to ashes.

"I allowed you to live like a stray dog out of consideration for the pathetic bit of camaraderie we once shared. How dare you use such despicable means to sully my reputation!"

Bruce leaned against the damaged control console, the corners of his mouth curling into an arc of utmost mockery.

His voice, transmitted through the Bat-cowl’s voice modulator, was hoarse but steady. Like a cold carving knife, it precisely dissected Superman’s disguise.

"Camaraderie? Clark Kent, put away your nauseating hypocrisy. I merely exposed the truths you buried to the world, letting everyone clearly see what kind of rotten mud is wrapped inside your seemingly radiant shell."

He paused, his gaze growing even colder.

"The Joker and Luthor were right. You are indeed more despicable than them. You do not even have the courage to face the darkness within your own heart. The only reason you did not execute me in front of the Justice League back then was simply out of fear that Diana would see your true face, wasn’t it?"

"And what about Lois Lane, who has always been deeply in love with you? To marry Diana, a descendant of the gods, didn’t you ruthlessly abandon her as well?"

"Shut up!"

The name Lois acted like a fuse, instantly igniting Superman’s suppressed fury.

The veins at the corners of his eyes throbbed wildly. Two beams of crimson heat vision blasted out without warning, accurately striking Bruce’s chest.

The violent energy impact sent Bruce flying like a kite with a broken string, slamming fiercely into the decaying wall behind him. Rubble and dust instantly filled the air, embedding him deep into the cracks of the wall.

"Bruce, you know too much."

Superman slowly walked toward him, his voice filled with killing intent.

"I truly regret letting you live until now..."

Bruce forcefully broke free from the wall. The surface of the Anti-Superman Armor on his body still bore the scorched black marks from the heat vision, yet miraculously, it was not completely destroyed.

This armor had been inherently designed with the capability to absorb and insulate against Superman’s heat attacks.

He spoke coldly.

"My very existence is a mockery to a false god like you. Remember, I am Batman. As long as there is still darkness in Gotham, as long as lies still float upon the altar, I will return to nail the truth to your throne!"

"Heh, Bruce, you still have such a way with words."

Superman laughed out of sheer fury. His handsome face twisted from extreme anger, and naked bestiality and brutality surged in the depths of his eyes.

He suddenly lunged forward. His right hand clamped around Bruce’s neck like iron pincers, lifting him high into the air.

Bruce’s feet dangled in the air, kicking futilely. Beneath the helmet, his face flushed red from the lack of oxygen.

"I have already isolated all signals in here. No one can save you."

Superman’s voice rang out right next to Bruce’s ear, carrying a spine-chilling malice.

"We have all night to thoroughly discuss the attitude you should use when kneeling at my feet and begging for mercy."

His left hand pressed down on Bruce’s helmet. His immense strength continuously applied pressure like a hydraulic press.

The alloy helmet emitted an ear-piercing sound of distortion. The patterns on its surface gradually deformed, beginning to squeeze Bruce’s skull.

The agonizing pain made Bruce unable to hold back a muffled cry of agony. Sweat rolled down his temples.

Superman enjoyed this scene. The corners of his mouth curled into a cruel smile as he enunciated every word.

"I will make you regret being born into this world."
