Chapter 245: Chapter 123 Bruce’s Plan, Superman’s Crimes! (Part 2)
But this was the Dark Knight’s own choice, everything he was betting for Gotham and the Earth.
It was his final dignity as Batman.
Alex slowly nodded, his figure gradually disappearing.
"The plan is viable. Tonight at exactly 20:00, I will have everything ready!"
Barry Allen’s body lit up with the Speed Force once again.
"I have to go too. If I stay in this world for too long, he will detect the fluctuations of the Speed Force."
Bruce donned his Batsuit and transformed into a giant dark bat, leaping down.
The Batcave fell silent once more, leaving only the faint glow of the computer screen and the flickering arcs of the Speed Force.
The night sky of Gotham City was shrouded in heavy leaden clouds, impenetrable by even a single ray of moonlight.
The freezing rain pattered down, washing away the bloodstains and garbage on the streets, but it could not wash away the sin deep within the city’s bones.
From deep within an alleyway, a woman’s helpless cries and the sinister laughter of local thugs broke the dead silence of the rainy night. Superman’s justice and order seemed to only cover the daytime; after nightfall, this place was still a paradise for criminals and a hell for the innocent.
At exactly eight o’clock in the evening, a blinding white light suddenly erupted from the top of the Gotham Observatory Clock Tower!
The massive searchlight, which had been silent for so long, broke free from the shackles of rust. It condensed its beam, piercing through the leaden-gray rain clouds to project a gigantic silhouette of a bat, its wings spread ready to fly, upon the churning cloud layer!
Illuminated by flashes of lightning, that silhouette was like a guardian deity awakening in the darkness, radiating a heart-palpitating majesty.
In the streets and alleys, thugs who were in the middle of robbing stores suddenly froze, their daggers clattering to the ground.
Hooligans dividing their loot in the corners abruptly looked up, their pupils contracting in fear.
This symbol awakened memories that had slumbered within them for years.
"Bat... Batman?"
Someone stuttered, their voice trembling.
"The Dark Knight... he has returned?"
It should be known that Superman had long since convicted Batman of crimes against humanity, stripped him of all his wealth and status, expelled him from the Justice League, and even publicly announced that he had died in the sewers.
But at this moment, the Bat-Signal was lit once more. Like a blatant provocation against Superman’s order, it plunged all of Gotham into chaos and shock.
At the same time, massive public screens and old television signal receivers spread across Gotham and even the entire globe were suddenly and collectively forced to activate.
Scene after scene of meticulously edited, irrefutable video and audio evidence played out. The cold images stung everyone’s eyes in the rainy night.
Scene one: In a cell at Arkham Asylum, the Joker was pinned under Superman’s foot. His green hair was matted with blood, and his limbs were twisted at bizarre angles.
The Penguin lay sprawled to the side, his broken beak dripping with blood, yet he was still laughing maniacally.
Superman’s pupils lit up with his crimson heat vision as he slowly swept his gaze over these villains without the slightest hesitation.
"Superman! You freak! You are even more despicable than us!"
The Joker’s roar pierced through the screen, but it only earned an even colder look from Superman.
The heat vision descended, and the villains’ bodies twisted in the flames, ultimately turning into charred corpses, leaving behind only the pungent smell of burnt flesh.
