Sage of Humanity
Chapter 2348 - 2346: Wandering Dragon
Several days later, near the unopened Star Abyss Gate, both the true form and the doppelganger returned from different directions.
This massacre frightened all the Star Abyss living creatures to flee in panic.
At this moment, looking around, there was actually no one in the surrounding Void!
In fact, despite several fierce battles, the remaining number of Star Abyss creatures was still considerable. If they had truly united in resistance against Lu Ye, unafraid of death, things wouldn't have gone so smoothly.
No matter how strong Lu Ye was, even counting the doppelganger, they were only two people.
But those who had Entered the Path had no way of forming any cohesive force amid this chaos. Perhaps if the Winged Race fusion had not died, there might still be hope. But now that the fusion were dead, relying only on those who had Entered the Path was futile.
Throughout the ages in the Star Abyss, such a peculiar scene had never occurred.
The Star Abyss Gate was about to open, yet there was no trace of the Star Abyss creatures.
It can be said that it wasn't until this moment that Lu Ye's plan was thoroughly completed.
Perhaps as time passes, those who fled might return to investigate, and passing cultivators might be drawn to this place by the Star Abyss, subsequently invading the opposite stellar space.
However, under Lu Ye's actions, the intensity of the invasion the other stellar space is about to face has already been significantly reduced.
In a flash, half a month or so went by, and the Star Abyss Gate opened!
"Senior brother, I'm going in!"
Su Yan stood before the Star Abyss Gate, gazing at Lu Ye, and spoke softly.
Her cultivation had recovered to nearly Sun Blaze level. Upon entering the opposite stellar space, she had sufficient power to protect herself. With her guidance, the cultivators in the opposite stellar space would surely find a clear direction to resist the Star Abyss invasion.
Success or failure, they would have tried earnestly. Even if they perished in battle, they would have no regrets.
"Take care of yourself!" Lu Ye looked at her.
With this farewell, he wasn't sure if there would be another chance to meet again.
"You too." Su Yan nodded, turned, and walked towards the open Star Abyss Gate.
Lu Ye watched her depart.
But soon, she hesitated, stopped, seeming to be uncertain about something, then turned back and quickly walked to Lu Ye.
"What's the matter?" Lu Ye asked.
Su Yan reached behind her head and swept her hand, and a golden tail feather appeared in her hand. With a slightly flushed face, she handed the feather to Lu Ye, "Senior brother, keep this safe. When you reach Dao Harmony Perfection someday, don't hurry to surpass yourself. Follow the guidance of this feather to the Phoenix Nest. I'll be waiting for you there!"
After saying this, without waiting for any reaction from Lu Ye, she thrust the tail feather into his hand and dashed into the Star Abyss Gate.
Lu Ye wanted to ask a few things but didn't get the chance.
A moment later, he glanced down at the golden tail feather in his hand, sensing a very peculiar aura from it.
It's undoubtedly a phoenix feather belonging to Su Yan herself.
Secretly amused, Su Yan had been pretending to have lost some memories since her Nirvana, but now it seems she isn't as indifferent as she appeared and can't entirely ignore certain past events.
Phoenix Nest!
It should be the tribal land of the Phoen Tribe.
Lu Ye had heard of it once but didn't understand it. Nonetheless, according to Su Yan, this tail feather has the power to guide him to the Phoenix Nest.
But why must it be after reaching Dao Harmony Perfection?
Without dwelling on it further, he is currently in the Enter the Path stage, with Dao Fusion ahead, far from Dao Harmony Perfection.
Carefully securing the golden phoenix feather, Lu Ye took one last look at the open Star Abyss Gate before turning and embarking on his journey home.
The time spent here wasn't long, only about two months, but the route had deviated somewhat, and during those two months, Banlan had been drifting away. Thus, Lu Ye would need to spend more time returning to Banlan.
However, all this is ultimately worth it.
Even without Su Yan, he wouldn't have turned a blind eye to the events happening here.
Without Su Yan by his side, he traveled alone, solitary on the road.
Fortunately, the previous slaughters had abundantly replenished Lu Ye's Dao force reserves, so he didn't have to worry about Dao force issues on this journey.
He suddenly remembered something, quickly retrieved the World in the Mirror from his bosom.
During this period, he had almost forgotten about his Dao Body.
His Mental Consciousness sank into it to probe.
In the palace of Concubine Rong, she sat with a rounded belly, a loving smile on her face while Dust Emperor sat beside her, holding her hand and speaking softly.
The Dao Body had not yet been born, but counting the days, it should be soon.
A wisp of Lu Ye's Mental Consciousness silently arrived, probing into Concubine Rong's body to carefully inspect the Dao Body's situation.
Concubine Rong suddenly uttered an "Oh" while conversing with Dust Emperor.
Dust Emperor exclaimed, "What's going on?"
Concubine Rong smiled and patted her belly, "The little one seems eager to come out, kicking me right now."
Dust Emperor laughed heartily, "To be so lively before birth, it surely must be a Prince."
"Perhaps it might be a Princess," Concubine Rong smiled as well.
"If it's a Princess, she'll undoubtedly be a mischievous one!" Dust Emperor appeared in a good mood.
The Dao Body is not an issue; upon Lu Ye's investigation, he found that it should be born within ten days. Although he knew that the Dao Body is different from a typical doppelganger and can be considered a true individual, he still felt a peculiar sensation.
After all, this is ultimately a part of him, but now it needs to be nurtured through an ordinary maternal body.
However, this is also a touch of the magic of the Blood Race's Bloodline because such nurturing holds infinite possibilities.
Retracting his Mental Consciousness and setting aside the World in the Mirror, Lu Ye continued forward, following Banlan's guidance.
One day, while flying at high speed, Lu Ye's mind suddenly tensed up. He turned his head and saw a semi-transparent, strange star beast beside him, resembling a giant tape fish.
What surprised Lu Ye was that he had no idea how this creature came to his side.
Almost instinctively, he raised his hand and placed it on the Boulder Mountain Saber.
But in the next moment, Lu Ye showed a thoughtful expression because this star beast clearly held no hostility towards him. Its head, like a frog's, had two bulging eyes curiously observing him.
Upon closer examination of the star beast, Lu Ye suddenly recalled that Jiu Ying had once mentioned to him a creature of this peculiarity.
Wandering Dragon!
Although it carries the character "dragon," it doesn't belong to the Dragon Race. This is an extremely rare star beast within the Star Abyss. They are extraordinarily gentle in temperament and never proactively attack other living beings. They feed only on the Dao force that floats in the void.
Their speed is extremely fast, transcending what ordinary Star Abyss creatures can achieve.
Under normal circumstances, such star beasts have no natural enemies because even when encountering cultivators with higher cultivation levels, their speed surpasses them.
However, these star beasts have one major flaw: a heavy curiosity.
Just like now!
This Wandering Dragon was curiously observing Lu Ye.
The reason Lu Ye hadn't noticed how it came to his side was wholly due to its incredible speed. Perhaps just moments ago, it was far away, but in an instant, it was already beside him.
Such speed rivals and even exceeds Su Yan's Spatial Movement Technique and is longer-lasting.
Realizing this star beast was a Wandering Dragon, Lu Ye withdrew his hand and winked at it.
Unexpectedly, the creature returned the wink and then brought its head over, its large bulging eyes almost pressing against Lu Ye in observation.
Leaving Lu Ye both amused and exasperated.
With such curiosity, it's a wonder it hasn't been exterminated.
At such close range, no matter how fast it is, if Lu Ye struck with his Saber, it would undoubtedly be fatal.
"Shoo, shoo!" Lu Ye pushed it away.
The Wandering Dragon tilted its head but still didn't leave, traveling alongside Lu Ye.
After flying for a while, it seemed to grow bored and vanished in a blur.
Lu Ye only faintly felt it whisk away ahead, disappearing from his Mental Consciousness's sensing range in a blink.
Such speed... truly astonishing!
And while Lu Ye marveled, a shadow flashed by his side; it was back!
It seemed as if it encountered something excitingly good, its long body even dancing.
Not bothering with it, Lu Ye continued his journey forward.
However, over the following period, the Wandering Dragon disappeared and reappeared several times, always cheerful upon returning.
Lu Ye gradually realized that the creature was competing with him in speed!
This was over the limit.
No matter the competition, Lu Ye wouldn't lose, except in speed.
Sighing inwardly, he thought, indeed still naïve, unaware of the Star Abyss's treacherousness, unscathed by the Star Abyss!
When the Wandering Dragon flew back again, Lu Ye suddenly turned, seizing the moment, and rode on its back, gripping two scales with his hands.
The Wandering Dragon was startled and flew at full speed.
In that moment, Lu Ye felt everything around him rapidly retreating; that speed was many times faster than his own!
He laughed heartily, trying hard to control the Wandering Dragon's flight direction. If he could truly tame this creature, returning to Banlan would be significantly quicker.
Sadly, the idea was enticing, but reality wasn't as smooth.
Perhaps due to the fright, the Wandering Dragon's flight was erratic. It consistently attempted to shake Lu Ye off its back but failed, only zigzagging in all directions.
After entangling with it for most of the day, Lu Ye had indeed gotten closer to Banlan, but without controlling the Wandering Dragon, it wasn't practically beneficial.
Ultimately giving up, Lu Ye dismounted from the Wandering Dragon.
The creature shot away in a flash, seemingly terrified.
In the ensuing days, Lu Ye didn't see the creature again; it seemed to have fled.
Continuing forward, one day, while flying, Lu Ye gradually halted, frowning as he looked ahead.
The void ahead was empty!
This was unusual. Be it the stellar space or the Star Abyss, the void would generally contain all sorts of random objects, like shattered stars, floating land, or meteorites.
But in the direction Lu Ye now gazed, it was desolate.
Moreover, within his heart arose a sense of unease, as if proceeding would bring about something profoundly unfavorable.
