Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 212 The Desert Lions Guild

Although Kaizen had managed to nullify one of the players for the time being, he was still surrounded by nine others. Still, he would not give the pleasure of dying so easily to Taznaar and company.

The Leader of the Desert Lions was the most dangerous player among all in the throne room, and he was also very close to Psyker, who knew he didn’t have time yet to equip a sword, no matter how fast he could tinker with the interface. Also, Kaizen had to be much more careful now about Taznaar’s fire abilities than when he fought him two days ago, because now he was not wearing his Desert Blue Lizard armor, which protected him very well against fire.

To make matters worse, it seemed that Taznaar could read the worries that were in the Psyker’s mind, because a second after Kaizen thought about it, Taznaar leaned his left arm back and made a fireball appear.

Kaizen’s quick eyes moved quickly through his surroundings, searching for things that could help him protect himself from this. In that instant his eyes found two options. He could run behind the pillar behind him, or he could use Leohorn, who was the only person within his reach. Between choosing to run and hurting an asshole, Kaizen chose the second option.

Taking advantage that Leohorn was momentarily on the ground, Kaizen stomped hard on his right foot, causing him to howl in pain, and then lifted him up by the folds of his armor to use him as a shield.

Taznaar was about to throw the fire he created, but before he knew it Kaizen was already lifting the great Leohorn in the air with his bare hands as if the Viking were a child. So Taznaar extinguished the fire because he didn’t want to apply <anno data-annotation-id=”73dd86c7-f3e1-4c63-852e-936f7e80a6a2″>TK </anno>on Leohorn.

‘What an ingenious bastard…’ Taznaar mentally admitted.

Kaizen would not let this moment of his opponent’s hesitation pass in vain. As he was already lifting Leohorn in the air, the Psyker quickly made the decision to hurl him towards Taznaar, and so he did.

Leohorn, who was very frightened and still had pain in his foot, was thrown hard in the direction of the leader of the Desert Lions.

Taznaar didn’t have time to react and was hit hard by the Viking. The force of the impact of one armor against the other did a little damage to both, and the two fell to the ground together.

Kaizen took advantage of this golden opportunity and ran the other way, hiding behind the pillar.

The other seven players spread out to surround him behind the pilaster, but he got out of there before Taznaar’s companions could get too close. When he came out from behind the pillar, he was already using the Eye of the Storm sword. A beautiful weapon with a thin, light blade that emanated an unknown kind of power.

“You don’t know who you are dealing with!” Kaizen shouted at the players, causing the blade to glitter. The mystical aura that took over the place left everyone surprised and frightened.

The players were momentarily surprised by this strange sword, however, they were all experienced players, they were all used to strange things like this. Therefore their astonishment didn’t last more than a second and they attacked in Kaizen’s direction.

One of these players, although he was wearing heavy armor as a disguise, was a type of magician. He only had to raise his left hand for a grimoire to appear at his side and a series of pointed stones began to shoot out of the fingertips of his hand.

Kaizen turned his sword diagonally to protect his face from these stones as he ran behind another column beside him.

However, Taznaar’s companions would not let the Psyker have time to equip anything else or rest this time. Lara used the <Explosive Munition> ability to shoot with a small slingshot at the pillar on which Kaizen was protecting himself.

*Booommm!*

The whole room shook as the pillar aimed by Lara was destroyed in an instant.

Kaizen, who was underneath it, used <Telecinece> to protect himself from the debris that fell on him, and wisely put it all together into a large stone ball by closing the fingers of his right hand. He then hurled this stone ball in the direction of the mage and the sniper Lara, who were pestering him with ranged attacks.𝑂𝚟𝓵xt.𝗇𝓔t

These two players were caught by surprise and had no time to protect themselves, but before the magician was hit he pushed Lara to the side, saving her from any damage and also unintentionally preventing her from hitting Kaizen with a second slingshot shot, which flew into the ceiling and exploded as well.

Kaizen hardly had time to savor the internal satisfaction of having hit the mage, as he was quickly surrounded by two boys and a woman who were using spears. The good part was that there were only three opponents, and the bad part was that they all had long-range spears while Kaizen was using a sword.

‘Damn, if I had been able to equip at least one more sword things would be more under control.’ Kaizen thought.

Since Psyker was distracted by the fact that he was surrounded, he didn’t even notice when Taznaar threw a powerful concentrated fireball from afar, which made Kaizen feel a piercing pain in his chest and threw him back a few meters, without giving him a chance to counterattack.

Kaizen collided with one of the walls of the room and saw how it was not smooth.

Taznaar smiled when he saw Kaizen fallen in such a shitty way.

Despite Psyker’s efforts, no one of the Desert Lions had yet died.

Proudpike had already partially recovered from the spear thrust into his shoulder, just as the mage with stone powers was already on his feet once again.

This battle was literally an entire guild versus a single man. This was far from fair, all the players there knew that, except that there was no one watching them except Niah and Thenomor, so there was no possibility of them losing any more popularity. Furthermore, none of the members of the Desert Lions were against massacring Kaizen. In fact, all they wanted most was this, as revenge for embarrassing their leader.

Kaizen knew that he probably couldn’t survive this battle, but he wasn’t ready to die yet and leave his items behind. All three swords in his inventory were definitely worth a lot of money. So Kaizen stood up and faced all ten players before him without bowing his head. Losing here meant losing money and all Kaizen hated most in his life was losing money.

“I’m not that easy to defeat like that.” Kaizen said with a grim smile on his face as he stood up.

All the players looked at him with disdain, and Taznaar smiled.

“You are right. There are only ten of us, we have no chance against you…. Maybe we should have come with twenty?” The leader of the Desert Lions sneered.

Kaizen looked at him with determination in his eyes, smiled villainously, and stated:

“Hard would be for you to manage to find twenty needy idiots on the street, as I bet you did to find these friends of yours. Were you the first person who gave them attention or something and so you pretend to be friends when in fact you have crappy coordination? Or are you guys simply from the closed club of the fetish for relationships with NPCs?”

Upon hearing Kaizen’s words, all the members of the Desert Lions became enraged and started shouting and threatening him. However, Kaizen didn’t mind this and started laughing at them.

“Hahaha! You guys are so… dumb.” His tone of voice suddenly turned serious and his smile disappeared. With a menacing look, he said, “Haven’t you guys ever heard of what a beast is capable of doing when it’s cornered?”

In that instant, the entire air of the throne hall was intoxicated by a tremendously frightening aura. Just looking into Kaizen’s eyes, the players felt a surge of adrenaline and fear, which made them begin to wonder if Kaizen was even a player, as they felt as if they were facing death live.

The Captain of the New Kingsguard, Thenomor, even though he was far from the Psyker was about to draw his two Katanas at once, something he hadn’t done in years.

The Queen clutched both arms of the golden throne tightly, trying to understand what it was that stood before her. A part of Niah already felt regret for having accepted the deal with Taznaar to help him take revenge on Kaizen.

Even Taznaar was wide-eyed before the Psyker. Not even on the day of the great duel in the Arena had he seen Kaizen act this way.

“You guys think you are strong? Then let’s see who is stronger! Today we’re going to have a bloodbath! Open the doors, let the guards in! I want to see how many of you I can kill before my life reaches zero!” Kaizen said as his eyes filled with a brilliant cyan light and his hands emanated black rays.
