Chapter 240 He Will Win
In the uppermost audience seat, Leon Xeton had a smiling face as if he was really looking forward to the upcoming matches. He cast a side glance at Reva beside him and asked, "In just a month, it's indeed astonishing that he broke through by four levels. Furthermore, seeing how confident his face looks, it seems as if he isn't worried at all that Roy Clive is more than a whole realm stronger than him. Your Highness, who do you think is going to win?"
Looking in the direction of Damien, Reva said, "Considering he was able to hold out against Valentina, I think he would somehow be able to manage. But something tells me that he is going to win. And he has this mystical aura around him that gives me a feeling that I cannot fathom, and that feeling is making me feel that he will win."
Leon Xeton raised one of his brows as he said with a hint of surprise in his voice, "I have never heard Your Highness speaking about someone else like this. It seems like he did have an impression on you."
Reva faintly smiled, "He did even though I am not completely sure about certain things. I guess I have time to find out."
Leon Xeton squinted his eyes and nodded. After a brief moment of silence, he said as he looked at the arena, "However, even if Damien was able to fight Valentina on equal terms before, it was when their cultivations were lower. But the gap only increases as one's cultivation levels go higher. Can anyone say for sure his combat prowess would always allow him to defeat someone a whole realm higher than him, no matter which cultivation realm? That seems highly impossible considering that the gap between each level in the Earth Ethereal Realm is incomparable to those of the Spirit Ethereal Realm."
Reva's expression became pensive as she heard Leon Xeton's words since she understood that what Leon said was indeed right. She realized that Damien's combat prowess couldn't be consistent as his cultivation increases.
If that was the case, then if Damien's cultivation was at the First Level of the Sky Ethereal Realm, then it would mean he could even take on someone at the First Level of the Heaven Ethereal Realm!
That seemed absolutely ridiculous since the gap was so immensely huge that just a hand swing from a Heaven Ethereal Realm practitioner could easily destroy a Low-Level Sky Ethereal Realm practitioner.
If Damien really was able to maintain that consistency, then it would mean that with his current cultivation, he could even destroy Low-Level Sky Ethereal Realm cultivators, which was apparently not true. That was how ridiculous and illogical it seemed and why Leon Xeton said it was impossible for Damien to maintain that consistency.
She now started feeling a little worry thinking whether Damien would really be alright. However, hearing his assurance yesterday and seeing how unperturbed he was, she decided not to overthink and wait and see how he was going to handle Roy.
But this same fact already crossed through Damien's mind as he noticed that his combat prowess wasn't consistent as his enemy's cultivation realm increased, especially when using his Undying Wrath skill.
He noticed while sparring with Valentina that his combat prowess didn't exactly increase by a whole realm when he fought her even after his breakthrough.
Valentina was able to gauge his strength even without having to exert much of her strength.
Even after giving out his best attack, she told him that after his breakthrough, his ethereal strength at most reached the Third Level of the Earth Ethereal Realm.
Of course, he didn't use his sword or his ethereal arts but simply raw physical attacks. He wanted to know how much his combat prowess was with using only his body.
Valentina didn't think she should be concerned about the match between Damien and Roy as she could see that Damien still had some aces up his sleeve and knew that his combat prowess would increase when he uses his sword along with his ethereal arts.
But whether he could defeat Roy or not was another matter altogether.
However, she didn't worry about it as she was confident that Damien could win, seeing how he didn't seem to be concerned about his match.
If Damien didn't show any signs of worry, then she wouldn't be worried at all. If he were completely confident in what he was doing, then she would be as well.
Damien knew that the consistency problem he had was nonexistent in Valentina as she was altogether wholly a different case.
Each time she breakthroughs, her whole body, including her ethereal strength, undergoes improvements that would be way more drastic than normal practitioners. As for him, his gains are just as normal as everybody else's.
So, Damien felt that, at least for now, her combat prowess would be consistent with the increase in her cultivation.
He couldn't believe how a slender and slim-looking beauty like her had so much strength in her dainty body. Her strength was no different than that of a tyrannical beast that could send shivers through one's spine with just her glare.
The last thing people were going to believe was that she was a half ethereal beast.
Valentina and Dennisa stared down at each other just as they entered their arena, while Damien had a calm smile on his face as he looked at Roy in their arena.
Leon Xeton looked over to his side and saw Ximir sitting just behind him.
He knew that Ximir was one of Reva's protectors who would keep a protective eye over her while she was in the Xeton Ethereal Foundation.
"Ximir, it's time. I want you to preside over these two matches. But no matter, under the eyes of many, I hope you would be absolutely fair. Any other matters can be determined at a later time." Leon Xeton said with hidden profoundness.
Ximir nodded as he got up and flew over to the stage built for the judges only. However, this time he was the only judge presiding over both the matches.
His appearance caused the entire plaza to quiet down as they knew both the matches were going to begin soon.
"The time is nigh. You four can begin now," Ximir flatly said with dignity.
He continued as his tone became firm, "But bear in mind that this is nothing more than a spar and not a fight to the death. You are not allowed to kill your opponent. Otherwise, you will be punished severely, no matter who. Alright, you all can begin now!"
As Ximir's voice faded, Roy's expression still remained indifferent as he was already pissed off that he had to fight someone weaker than him coupled with the recent harrowing experiences he had to undergo, "Are you smiling thinking how meaningless your death is going to be?"
"That is something I ought to ask you, but the difference is that you won't be smiling," Damien responded with the same disdainful sneer in turn.
He continued in a cool tone, "Take out your weapon and come at me. I haven't got all day."
Roy laughed loudly, "Weapon? Against a weakling like you? Just one of my hands is enough to bash your brains in."
The corner of Damien's mouth raised, "Is that so? Then let me see if you can even touch the corner of my clothes with just your hands."
As Damien and Roy were exchanging taunts, the same was going on in Arena #2, where Dennisa was menacingly glaring at Valentina as she said, "You witch, are you not going to take out your weapon? Or are you planning to go invisible and backstab me like a coward?"
Valentina looked at her with contempt in her eyes and said, "If you are so scared, then you should surrender already. Or did kowtowing before me make you even more scared of me?"
Dennisa's eyes twitched as she heard some muffled gasps among the crowd after they heard Valentina's words.
"Hey, was what Fairy Valentina said true?"
"It can't be. Why would the Charming Snake, Dennisa, ever bow down to a junior, let alone kowtow?"
"But Fairy Valentina wouldn't shout out lies so blatantly. Maybe we are missing some facts here."
"Stop spouting lies, witch! I, as your senior, will put you back in your place," Dennisa howled as she took out her whip, thinking that despite Valentina being weaker than her, she can't afford to underestimate her.
