Rise from a Low-class Family to Martial Artist

Chapter 963: Don't Ask—Asking Hurts My Pride

  • Next Chapter

In the sky, a figure strolled leisurely forward, instantly catching everyone’s attention.

Upon recognizing this figure’s face, the martial artists of the Canglan Domain on the peak erupted in cheers, for this face was all too familiar to them.

“Little Junior Brother!”

At this moment, Liang Hanyang and Chai Daoqi’s eyes also gleamed. Neither expected their little junior brother to appear at this critical moment.

His timing was perfect.

“Lord Lin is here; we’re not afraid of this battle anymore.”

The innate realm martial artists of the Canglan Domain also breathed a sigh of relief. They had witnessed Lord Lin’s power on the Martial Arts Mountain and his impressive feats in the Heaven-Reaching Pagoda. Back then, Lord Lin had already reached the peak of the Innate Third Realm.

The younger martial artists were particularly thrilled. Lord Lin, known for repeatedly creating miracles, was the most revered figure among all young martial artists in the Canglan Domain.

And now, this miracle-working Lord Lin stood right before them, stirring their excitement.

“Little Junior Brother, how did you make it here?”

“Little Junior Brother, have you been to see Master?”

“Second Brother, Third Brother, don’t rush into catching up just yet, let me take care of them first.”

Lin Chen nodded towards his two senior brothers, then turned his gaze to the three Third Realm martial artists of the Eight Desolate Domain.

Under Lin Chen’s gaze, the three Innate Third Realm martial artists of the Eight Desolate Domain felt as if they faced a formidable enemy.

The fame of a person, the shadow of a tree!

The name of Lin Chen needed no further mention. If his ascent of the Martial Path Mountain once branded him as a promising junior, his performance in the Heaven-Reaching Pagoda clearly showed that any of these three were individually no match for him.

More than two years ago, the outside world estimated Lin Chen’s strength to be at the peak of the Innate Third Realm. Now, two years later, he could only have become stronger.

If it were just Lin Chen, maybe the three could stand a chance by joining forces, but with Liang Hanyang and Chai Daoqi present, the battle was already hopeless.

Retreat!

This thought unified the three’s hearts as they exchanged glances, their bodies simultaneously transforming into beams of light, heading towards their forces below.

This time they had brought thirty innate realm experts, though only at the First Realm, they could at least stall Lin Chen, allowing an escape opportunity.

Indeed, the three had no illusions about defeating Lin Chen through sheer numbers; each realm within the Innate Sixth was a vast divide, and a dozen Second Realm experts together still couldn’t best a Third Realm one.

Though their plan was sound, Lin Chen’s speed was faster than their retreat.

Just as the three began to withdraw, Lin Chen also moved.

There was no earth-shattering burst of qi force, no mysterious and intricate cultivation technique glow.

Lin Chen merely took one step forward, yet his figure vanished from sight, leaving only a barely visible shockwave ripple from air compressed at extreme speed, silently erupting.

When he reappeared, Lin Chen was already before a middle-aged man in a black robe. The latter’s hair stood on end, hastily swinging his sleeve to release several black beams, carrying a chilling aura towards Lin Chen.

Lin Chen, however, calmly threw a punch.

In the eyes of the middle-aged man, Lin Chen’s punch surpassed the limits of his divine thought perception; he couldn’t even discern its path. Before the black beams reached Lin Chen’s punch, they were shattered by the wind force of the fist. And before he could react, he felt intense pain in his chest.

Thud!

Lin Chen’s fist unimpededly smashed into the chest of the black-robed man.

No sound of cracking bones, just a dull, heart-stopping explosion. The man’s face froze in shock, then drained of all vitality, his eyes bulging with disbelief and confusion. In the next moment, his skin cracked inch by inch, his internal organs and spine reduced to mush by the terrible force of the punch!

The middle-aged man fell, but as Lin Chen threw that punch, his figure disappeared again. Almost simultaneously, he appeared before another man. This man reacted swiftly, producing a long spear, thrusting it out with a roar. The spear tip carried terrifying energy, causing the air to wail under its burden.

Yet, Lin Chen’s expression remained unchanged, as he slowly lifted a hand, splaying his fingers, effortlessly and lightly grasped the approaching spear!

“Crack!”

The spear tip, capable of splitting mountains and piercing space, crumbled like dead wood upon touching Lin Chen’s seemingly normal fingers. The violent energy was casually crushed to nothing, scattered as countless light fragments!

The man’s pupils shrank, his heart filled with infinite dread. But before he could act, he found his neck gripped by an iron clamp of a hand, an irresistible force sealing his qi pathways and life force, rendering even self-destruction impossible. The fierceness in his eyes was instantly replaced by boundless fear and bewilderment.

Lin Chen’s arm quivered slightly, absent of any smoke and fire.

“Rip!”

Like plucking a ripe fruit, the robust man’s head was brutally torn from his neck, blood erupting like long-suppressed lava, shooting skyward. The geyser of blood had yet to fall when the headless body, in violent spasms, crashed down below.
