Rise from a Low-class Family to Martial Artist
Chapter 962: Brothers Reunited
Thousandfold Mountain Range.
A figure shuttled through the mountain range; it was Lin Chen who had just emerged from the Thousandfold Secret Realm.
After coming out of the Thousandfold Secret Realm, Lin Chen stayed in the village for a day, learning about what had happened outside while he was inside.
First, he was most concerned about Yin Yue, and after they returned to Teng Cheng, they handed the storage box to Yin Yue, who then returned to the Moon Soul Race to quell the rebellion.
However, that was a year after he entered the Thousandfold Secret Realm.
Qianshan and Qianlang also mentioned that the Cloud Race had sent Innate Powerhouses, but the Cloud Race had not sent anyone over for a year.
Among these were Feng Haoyu helping to conceal him and the Entropy Race also hiding his whereabouts.
The reason he left after just one day was that he learned from Qianshan that a month ago, the Canglan Sect had issued a return order.
All Canglan Sect disciples, regardless of whether they were from the inner or outer sect, regardless of age… upon hearing this order, should return to the sect immediately.
This news made Lin Chen unable to stay; after asking the Entropy Race to send a message to Yin Yue on his behalf, Lin Chen chose to leave the Entropy Race’s territory.
The sect would not easily issue a return order; when they went to war with the Eight Desolates Sect in the past, an edict was issued for sect disciples traveling outside to return immediately without delay.
But the return order was published more to protect sect disciples from being assassinated by killers from the Yama Hall and to reassure other martial artists in the Canglan Domain, informing them the sect was not just sending them to die, but also recalling sect disciples for battle.
A return order only needs to be issued once.
But now, the sect issued a second one, implying that the battle was at a disadvantage, and there were not enough martial artists, urgently needing reinforcement with fresh forces.
As a disciple of the Canglan Sect, Lin Chen naturally should return as soon as possible.
At the outskirts of the Thousandfold Mountain Range, Lin Chen’s figure suddenly paused, fierce light in his eyes, he struck out with a fist towards the left mountain peak.
Bang!
The face of a middle-aged man on the left side of the peak changed drastically; he obviously did not expect Lin Chen to detect his presence, and in panic, struck back with a palm.
Crack!
As fist and palm collided, there was a crisp sound of bones breaking from the middle-aged man’s arm, his face filled with fear as he was about to retreat, but Lin Chen stepped forward, coming to his front and struck out with another punch.
This punch directly sent the body of the middle-aged man slamming into the cliff behind him, his whole body embedded within, finally rolling down with the shattered rocks towards the ground.
The middle-aged man lay on the ground, his body with multiple indentations, but his eyes were wide open, still filled with disbelief.
As a mid-Innate Fourth Realm individual, he was sent by his clan to guard the outskirts of the Thousandfold Secret Realm to keep an eye on Lin Chen.
Although the clan believed Lin Chen had already emerged from the Thousandfold Secret Realm, traces of Lin Chen were not found within the Flame Dynasty, which led the clan to send him here to keep watch.
Lin Chen was only in the Innate Third Realm. According to the potential rules of the Thousandfold Secret Realm, the maximum breakthrough was to the Innate Fourth Realm. He himself was at the mid-Innate Fourth Realm, more than enough to deal with Lin Chen.
To his death, he could not comprehend why he couldn’t withstand two punches from Lin Chen.
Lin Chen, looking at the middle-aged man on the ground, directly collected his storage box. He had no intention of leaving him alive because he could tell from the man’s attire about his origin.
The Cloud Race.
Martial artists of the Cloud Race showing up here surely meant they were watching him, and even if he left him alive, he wouldn’t extract much useful information.
…
…
A month later.
Canglan Domain.
Ten Thousand Ridges Mountain.
Blood aura soaring to the sky.
At the highest peak, three Innate Martial Artists stood, with thousands of warriors behind them. Everyone eagerly gazed at the plain ahead, where a massive black tide could be seen surging forward amidst the rumbling drums.
The warriors from the Eight Desolate Domain had arrived.
This black tide stopped within hundreds of feet of the mountain peak, exuding a murderous aura that changed the expressions of many warriors on the peak.
In terms of numbers, the enemy was several times their own.
“Junior Brother, follow Senior Brother’s plan for this battle, don’t be impulsive.”
“Second Brother, rest assured, I understand.”
Chai Daoqi nodded, the Second Brother worried he was too impulsive, leading everyone down the mountain to fight the Eight Desolate Domain’s warriors in battle.
With the enemy’s numbers significantly exceeding theirs, going down the mountain would make it easy to be surrounded. But in these mountains, they could not form an encirclement, reducing the advantage of having more people.
What they needed to do was delay until Senior Brother ended the battle and arrived to support.
Within the ranks of the Eight Desolate Domain’s warriors, three figures walked out, and upon feeling the aura of these three, both Liang Hanyang and Chai Daoqi’s expressions became serious.
Three mid-Innate Third Realm martial artists.
Liang Hanyang narrowed his eyes slightly; on their side, only he and the Third Junior Brother were of the Innate Third Realm, but the Third Junior Brother had just broken through not too long ago and was certainly not a match for any of the three opposite.
“Third Junior Brother, try to hold off one person; I will take care of the other two before coming to help you.”
“Don’t worry, Senior Brother; although my realm is a little lower, I have some methods.”
Chai Daoqi agreed, having just stepped into the Innate Third Realm. But as a direct disciple of an elder, and being a prince of the dynasty, his cultivation techniques and treasures were not something ordinary Innate Third Realm martial artists could compare to.
“Your Canglan Sect is at a disadvantage on the battlefield. I advise you to surrender and save your lives.”
The voice of a warrior from the Eight Desolates Sect conveyed coldly across the peak.
“Enough nonsense, let’s fight if you’re going to fight!”
Chai Daoqi directly interrupted the other with this statement. The battlefield situation was unfavorable for the sect, and although the sect disciples had no thoughts on this, the warriors from other Canglan Domain forces might be swayed.
“If you’re eager to die, then so be it!”
The three Innate Martial Artists from the Eight Desolates Sect exchanged glances, not saying more as their figures turned into streaks of rainbow light rushing toward the peak.
“Come on, then!”
Chai Daoqi and Liang Hanyang exchanged looks, and the two senior brothers exploded into action simultaneously.
The five clashed and then separated, with Chai Daoqi only staggering back a few steps before regaining his balance mid-air, already at a disadvantage in this initial exchange.
“You two go hold off Liang Hanyang; once I’ve dealt with Chai Daoqi, we’ll team up to kill Liang Hanyang.”
The three warriors of the Eight Desolates Sect communicated telepathically, with one heading directly for Chai Daoqi while the other two headed toward Liang Hanyang.
The Canglan Domain warriors on the peak wore anxious expressions as the outcome of this battle could determine the fate of this battlefield.
“It’s likely we’ll lose more than win in this fight.”
Beneath, a few Innate Realm elders also looked worried. Though they were only at the Innate First Realm and not much in the Canglan Domain hierarchy, they could discern that the two direct disciples of the Canglan Sect were unlikely to triumph over the three opponents.
As these Innate Realm elders were worrying, laughter suddenly echoed through the mountains.
“Since it’s a battle of senior brothers joining forces, how could I miss out?”
