Chapter 346: Chapter 327: David’s Counterattack

It wasn’t until Fang Chenyi gave an impatient wave of his hand that David Rogers, held at gunpoint by Liu Yishou, walked over to a communicator in the captain’s room.

This communicator was the device that connected all staff members on the cruise ship. Activating it allowed one to forcibly cut into all channels—a privilege reserved for the captain.

David Rogers didn’t try any tricks. He obediently repeated the words Fang Chenyi had just fed him, and after that, he sent Fang Chenyi’s photo to every crew member’s handheld communicator.

Having done all this in one go, David Rogers finally let out a long sigh of relief. He then turned to Fang Chenyi with a fawning expression and asked cautiously,

"Boss, you see... I’ve done everything you asked. Can you let me go now?"

Fang Chenyi, who had been watching him with a faint smile, noted his obedience and nodded.

"Yes. Since I said I’d let you go, I will. But not yet. You can leave after my men get here."

With that, Fang Chenyi turned to Qi Xiaotian, who was beside him.

"Send them the coordinates. Tell everyone to set out tonight."

Receiving his orders, Qi Xiaotian nodded, lowered his gun, and took out his phone to contact the team.

But when David Rogers heard Fang Chenyi’s words, a venomous glint flashed in his eyes. ’This bastard... It looks like he has no intention of letting me go.’

As he thought this, he lowered his head and surreptitiously glanced at the communicator beside him. When his eyes locked onto the space beneath it, he gritted his teeth.

’Opportunity knocks but once. Of the two gunmen, one had put his weapon down and was on the phone. The other one, right next to me, had lowered his muzzle too. This is the perfect chance!’

Once connected, Qi Xiaotian spoke concisely: "You have the location. Move out immediately."

He waited for a "Yes, sir" from the other end, then hung up.

But just as a firm "Yes" came through the phone, a sudden noise came from where Liu Yishou and David Rogers were.

Qi Xiaotian’s heart dropped. He instinctively raised his pistol and pulled the trigger without a moment’s hesitation.

PFFT!

PFFT!

The distinct sound of suppressed gunshots rang out. The instant Qi Xiaotian’s pistol fired, another one went off as well.

It all happened so fast, in the space of a single breath.

By the time Fang Chenyi looked over, David Rogers, who had been standing a moment ago, was already splayed out on the floor in front of the communicator.

There were two wounds, one on the back of his head and another in the middle of his back, both gushing blood. Clearly, the man was dead.

Fang Chenyi was a little confused. His attention had been on Qi Xiaotian’s phone call, so he hadn’t noticed what was happening. He hadn’t expected David Rogers to be dead in the blink of an eye.

Of course, he knew David Rogers must have done something in that split second. Otherwise, Qi Xiaotian and Liu Yishou would never have both opened fire on him simultaneously.

Just then, Liu Yishou approached, his pistol still trained on David Rogers. He first glanced at the head wound, then cautiously reached out to check for a pulse on the man’s neck. After confirming he was dead, Liu Yishou kicked the body half a meter away.

Then, reaching into the space David Rogers had just been fumbling for, he pulled out a loaded M16 assault rifle.

Seeing this, a cold sweat broke out on Liu Yishou’s forehead. ’Thank God Qi Xiaotian reacted so quickly and shot him in the head.’

’Without that shot, even though my own bullet pierced his heart, he might have had enough time to get his hands on that rifle. If he’d managed to unload a magazine in Brother Fang’s direction, the consequences would have been unthinkable!’

Poor David Rogers. He died with a cold sneer still frozen on his lips, all because his hand had just touched the gun. He had believed that with just another fraction of a second, he could have aimed at his target and pulled the trigger.

What he never could have imagined was that his opponents’ reactions were far faster than he’d anticipated. He was certain that almost no one, not even in his old SEAL Team, could match that kind of speed. It was a reflex honed only by real combat.

Liu Yishou quickly engaged the safety, ejected the round from the chamber, and carefully brought the rifle to Fang Chenyi. With the guilty look of a child who’d made a mistake, he said,

"Brother Fang, that was my mistake. I was careless."

Seeing his expression, Fang Chenyi just smiled and clapped him on the shoulder. Instead of offering comfort, he changed the subject.

"That reaction speed from you two was incredible. Excellent, excellent, haha! There will be rewards for both of you later!"

Qi Xiaotian had been about to say something himself, but when he saw Brother Fang’s carefree smile, he smiled as well. His gaze then shifted to the still-unconscious Wolz and he said,

"Brother Fang, to be safe... what about this one...?"

He trailed off, making a slicing motion across his throat with his hand.
