Return of the Celestial King
Chapter 457: Cultivation Clan
However, neither Kong Lianqing nor Sun Haicheng had any idea that Qin Tuo wasn't being arrogant, but was acting with absolute confidence.
After all, Qin Tuo had already reached the Grain Avoidance Stage. His power had long since skyrocketed; he was no longer the man he used to be.
Now, so-called Grandmasters were nothing more than a problem he could solve with a single slap.
Beings who were revered in the eyes of others were no different from ants in Qin Tuo's eyes.
Kong Lianqing felt that Qin Tuo was being far too overconfident, and couldn't help but offer a reminder:
"Mr. Qin, you absolutely cannot underestimate your enemy! You must understand, the Liu Family's Four Vajras are all at the peak of the Grandmaster Realm. If they attack you together, I'm afraid you'll be in danger!"
Kong Lianqing said this hoping Qin Tuo would know what was good for him, and also to do him a simple favor.
But to his surprise, Qin Tuo remained completely fearless, utterly dismissing his warning.
So, Kong Lianqing continued in a solemn tone:
"Also, Mr. Qin, Patriarch Liu has been in seclusion for a long time. Once he emerges, it's possible he will have broken through to the Martial Arts Grandmaster realm. At that point, he'll be even more terrifying!"
Sun Haicheng, who was beside him, quickly nodded in agreement, adding his own embellishments to describe how fearsome Patriarch Liu was.
But after they finished speaking, Qin Tuo simply gave a light, cold snort and said,
"If this is all you came to talk about, you can leave now. Because I truly don't give a damn about the so-called Liu Family!"
Kong Lianqing was utterly astonished. He couldn't believe that even after he had explained things so clearly, Qin Tuo still seemed so unconcerned.
Seeing Qin Tuo's appearance of complete and utter confidence, Kong Lianqing asked cautiously,
"Mr. Qin, may I ask what realm you have currently reached?"
He asked this with extreme caution, as he understood that inquiring about the strength of an expert of Qin Tuo's caliber was a very offensive thing to do.
But he couldn't help it; Kong Lianqing just had to get to the bottom of this.
Sun Haicheng had previously told him about Qin Tuo's power—how he had single-handedly taken down almost the entirety of the arrogant Blood Moon Pavilion. Kong Lianqing had been deeply shocked at the time.
Therefore, he was now even more desperate to find out what Qin Tuo's specific realm was.
Qin Tuo slowly shook his head and said,
"Sorry, I'm not a Martial Artist. I don't know how to describe my realm and power to you in those terms."
Hearing this, Kong Lianqing's heart tightened, and he quickly asked again,
"Mr. Qin, from the sound of it, could it be that you're a Warlock?"
But Qin Tuo shook his head again and waved his hand dismissively. Clearly, he was not a Warlock.
Nearby, Sun Haicheng was completely bewildered. 'Not a Martial Artist, and not a Warlock? What does that mean?'
But Kong Lianqing was, after all, a man of worldly experience. Upon hearing Qin Tuo's words, his expression suddenly changed as if he had understood something.
Immediately, he said to Sun Haicheng beside him:
"You should leave first. Let me speak with Mr. Qin alone for a moment."
Sun Haicheng nodded. Not daring to delay, he quickly left the private room.
After sending Sun Haicheng away, Kong Lianqing finally stared seriously into Qin Tuo's eyes, took a deep breath, and said:
"Mr. Qin, if I'm not mistaken, you must be one of the legendary Cultivators!"
Qin Tuo had been completely calm, but now he was suddenly a little surprised.
He frowned and couldn't help but ask,
"Pavilion Master Kong, how did you know I am a Cultivator? Could it be that you've met Cultivators before?"
From Qin Tuo's perspective, this Kong Lianqing must have had dealings with Cultivators before; otherwise, it would be impossible for him to recognize his true identity at a glance.
Only then did Kong Lianqing finally smile. He nodded and said,
"Mr. Qin, of course I know of the existence of Cultivators. In fact, for people like us, Cultivators are not unfamiliar at all."
Hearing this, Qin Tuo felt even more confused.
After all, in all this time, very few of the people he had encountered knew of the existence of Cultivators.
But in Pavilion Master Kong's tone, Qin Tuo seemed to detect something unusual.
Kong Lianqing continued to explain with a smile:
"Mr. Qin, there is something you don't know. The truth is, throughout all of Great Xia, there are quite a few Cultivation Clans. It's just that they normally live in seclusion and will never reveal their power unless a major event occurs!"
It took Qin Tuo a long moment to process this. He was incredibly surprised, realizing only now that there were so many other Cultivators in this world.
And these Cultivators had even formed powerful Cultivation Clans that wouldn't easily appear without a major incident.
'No wonder I haven't met any other Cultivators before. So this is the reason.'
Qin Tuo seized the opportunity and immediately asked again,
"Pavilion Master Kong, what else do you know? Can you tell me in detail about the existence of these Cultivation Clans?"
Qin Tuo had an instinct that many of the secrets weighing on his mind might now find some answers.
But to his surprise, Kong Lianqing just gave a bitter smile and said,
"Mr. Qin, many of these matters are top secret for me. Due to my position, it's inconvenient for me to reveal too much to you. Please understand."
As he spoke, a hint of apology showed in his eyes.
Qin Tuo sighed. Of course, he knew that Kong Lianqing couldn't tell him too much.
After all, it was easy to understand with a little thought. The Cultivation Clans stood at the apex of the world; of course ordinary people couldn't casually discuss their secrets.
Although Kong Lianqing was unwilling to say more to Qin Tuo, he now understood why Qin Tuo was not afraid of the Liu Family.
The Liu Family might be considered a colossal force in the secular world, but in the eyes of a Cultivator, they were nothing.
After all, even the Liu Family's peak combat power, the so-called experts of the Grandmaster Realm, were simply not worth mentioning in front of a Cultivator.
With the conversation at this point, Qin Tuo couldn't hide the look of disappointment in his eyes and lost all interest in continuing the discussion.
Just as Qin Tuo was about to leave, Kong Lianqing hurriedly seized the chance to ask,
"Mr. Qin, I have one more favor to ask. I implore you to help me!"
Seeing the deep look of anticipation in Kong Lianqing's eyes, Qin Tuo fell silent for a moment.
He was initially unwilling, but then he had another thought. 'Perhaps I can use this matter to subtly pry some information about the Cultivation Clans out of Kong Lianqing.'
Seeing that Qin Tuo didn't refuse on the spot, Kong Lianqing immediately took the initiative and said,
"It's like this: in a little while, there will be an international exchange conference. Experts from various countries will come to spar and determine who is the best…"
