Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 670: Chapter 670: Is There Something Wrong With Your Brain?
’Even if it’s the last thing I do today, I’m going to expose her for who she really is!’
"Annabelle Linton!"
Mrs. Yates shot to her feet and stalked straight toward Annabelle.
Mr. Yates knew this was bad. He tried to stop her, but it was too late!
A beautiful smile graced Annabelle’s lips as she pressed a button on the remote, causing the glass partition separating them to rise.
Mrs. Yates charged forward, SLAMMED her hand on the table, and pointed a finger at Annabelle, screaming hysterically, "Have you no shame? I’m asking you, have you no shame at all? What the hell do you want? Huh? And you, Leona!"
Mrs. Yates looked utterly disappointed, her heart aching. "Leona, your mother and I are the best of friends. I practically watched you and Vivian grow up. But look at you now! Look what you’ve become for this... this vixen!"
’Yeah, right,’ Leona thought. ’Watched me grow up, erased my memories, and almost killed my wife?’
Leona Grant scoffed, her face a mask of casual mockery. She arched an eyebrow. "What about me?"
"Three hundred million! Do you have any idea how many people would have to work themselves to death to earn that much? And now you’re squandering it on this vixen and disrespecting your elders! Just look at yourself! Take a good long look at yourself!"
"Mrs. Yates?" Leona Grant repeated with a cold smile. "Tonight is a charity event, is it not? In other words, this is all for a good cause. So how is it that my contributing to charity is suddenly disrespecting my elders and wasting money? Or are you suggesting this is all just for show, and that three hundred million wasn’t worth it? Also... who are you calling a vixen?"
Of course it wasn’t worth it. Everyone knew that, but it was the kind of truth you didn’t say out loud.
Mrs. Yates’s face paled. She immediately turned her anger back on Annabelle. "I’m talking about her! Leona, I know exactly what kind of person you are. I’ve always known you were a good kid, but look at how this vixen has you bewitched!"
’Vixen...’
Annabelle calmly mulled over the word, then lifted her gaze to meet the older woman’s. "What did I do?"
"You knew perfectly well that we wanted that vase! Do you find it amusing to keep bidding against us?"
Annabelle couldn’t help but laugh. "Just because you set your sights on it, that makes it yours? By your logic, if you go to a department store and see an outfit you like but can’t afford, and someone else buys it, does that mean they’re disrespecting you? That they’re looking down on you and wasting their money?"
Her lips twisted into another smirk as she let out a short, sharp laugh. "And what’s even more bizarre," she added bluntly, "is that you’d actually march right up to that person and start screaming at them. Is there something wrong with your head?"
Mrs. Yates was speechless.
She couldn’t argue with that.
The crowd was buzzing. They never expected Mrs. Grant to be so eloquent and sharp-tongued!
Weren’t the rumors that she was a weak-willed pushover? Apparently, those were all lies!
People also said Leona Grant treated her poorly. Casually dropping three hundred million on her—you call that *poorly*?
What would being treated *well* even look like, then?
Would she have to give up her life for her?
What they didn’t know was that Leona Grant really would give her life for Annabelle Linton.
Her face dark and her composure completely shattered, Mrs. Yates roared, "You only bought that vase because you saw that we wanted it, didn’t you? You just wanted to embarrass us!"
"And so what if I did? I have the money, so I’ll buy what I want. You got a problem with that? Oh, so you being unable to afford it means I’m embarrassing you? If you can’t afford it, you should’ve just kept your mouth shut. If you hadn’t come running over here to make a scene, who would even know who you are? The audacity!"
Mrs. Yates let out a laugh of pure fury. "*Your* money? Is that really *your* money? If you’ve got it, then pull out three hundred million right now and let me see it! You’re just riding someone else’s coattails, and you have the nerve to call *me* audacious?"
