Usually he didn’t like when Zach acted irrationally but this time he wanted him to be angry and he wanted him to do something out of anger and irrationally.

"I don’t mean about the body I mean about Ronaldo. You can’t simply brush it off and act like nothing happened. Act like I dint just tell you that he was the one who kidnapped and raped her." Bruce said to him.

"I can and I am not going to react foolishly because I am smarter than that. I know that this is what he wants. For me to lash out and do something stupid. Well I am not going to give him that satisfaction. my stance on the matter hasn’t changed. Prepare the funeral arrangements and get her ready." Zach said to him coldly but despite the fact that Zach was putting on a good front and was acting as though he didn’t care Bruce could see through it.

Bruce tries to remain silent however on the inside he is tense as he tries to decipher what it was that was running through Zach’s mind.

It was made very clear to him that there was something that was off and her wasn’t this unbothered person that he gave off.

"Look-,’ He started to say however he was almost instantly cut off by the sound of a gasp that rang through the room. Both of the men froze in their spots as they widened their eyes before turning around to see carol standing by the door.

They were tense in their spots as they watched a single that slid down her cheek.

For a moment Zach had forgotten about her. "Carol." he started to say but he was cut off as she was quick to shove past him and make her way towards Brittany’s body.

She fell to the ground as tears slid down her cheeks before she clutched Brittany’s body to her own.

"No no no. this can’t be right. There has to be something wrong." She said to them and her loud set of sobs were like a spear that was piercing right through Zach’s heart.

"Carol. Come on." He said to her as he leaned in to try and hold her. However she was quick to pull away from hum "You can’t be dead Brittany. You have to come back." She said in protest.

"Carol it’s okay don’t blame yourself you didn’t cause this." Zach said to her.

He watched as her body stiffened for a moment before she turned her angered gaze towards him.

She cleared her throat before sending him a glare. "Yes it isn’t my fault this is your doing you are the one who caused this." She yelled as she sent an accusing finger towards him.

"I know that you are upset but. We can’t blame each other for this. What is done is done and we have to move on." He said to her as he tried to ease the situation.

He watched as her anger seemed to flare as she dropped Brittany onto the ground gently before rising back up to her feet and looking towards Zach.

"what do you mean that we have to move on. You treat her as tough she is some sort of toy. She was my friend and she was a part of this family we can’t simply move on from her death. That isn’t how this works." She said to him.

"Well I have and you should to." He said to her as he tried to turn around and leave.

however she stopped him in his tracts when she placed a hand on his shoulder causing him to swivel around after a moment.

Don’t do that. You can’t just do that." She said to him and she watched as he looked towards her with furrowed brows as he feigned naivety.

"I shouldn’t do what?" He asked her monotonously. He watched as she took a step forward towards him before coming to aa stop right in front of him.

"You shouldn’t just shut me out and act as though it means nothing. I know that she meant something to you so how about you just a stop pretending." She said to him in a raised tone.

She watched as he let out a sigh from his lips as his mouth quivered. "I can’t okay. I can’t say it. I can’t just admit that I failed. That I failed her and that I failed all of you." He said in a whisper.

He watched as her face soften as she approached him carefully. Before he could react she reached out and wrapped her arms around him.

"I know that you tried your best but you have to stop carrying on and you have to try and grieve." Shew said to him.

Zach was silent but he knew that she was right that he couldn’t simply keep everything buttled up and that he has to let it out.

"I should have been there to save her. I should have protected her." He said to her.

She let out a sigh from her lips at his words as she shook her head. "You couldn’t and I know she doesn’t blamer you." She said to him.

"no I am sure that she hated me." he whispered.

She slowly pulled away from him as she held his face in her hands. "She loved you." She said to him and he felt his entire body freeze at her words. He shook his head hoping that her words weren’t true.

"no that can’t be possible. Tell me that it isn’t true." He said to her in a whisper as his bottom lip quivered.

"she loved you till her dying breath. She saw you ass her knight in shining armor and her protector." She said to him and he felt something inside of him snap.

"why didn’t she say anything. She could have told me at least." He cried out in frustration.

She sucked in a deep breath as she bit down on her lip before speaking up, "She wanted to and she wanted to believe that she could be with you but her self-esteem was too low and she felt as though you were too good for her. She felt as though you would never return her feelings." She said to him.

He felt as though there was a knife thar was being twisted deep inside of him and her words only seemed to hurt him more and more. He wished that he could make it stop.

"I am going to make him pay." He vowed silently. He balled his hands up into a tight fist feeling a wave of rage and anger come over him.

This was his fault and he was the one who had done this to her but he couldn’t carry on this way and he knew that he had to fix the problem and settle the scores.

They thought they had ruined him but he would make sure that her death wasn’t in vein and that they got exactly what they deserved.

The room was filled with a think echoing silence as those that surrounded it rung their fingers around each other as though they were unaware of what would come next.
