Release That Succubus
Chapter 463
Chapter 463: Chapter 463
Zach hummed at him in response but didn’t say anything at first.
"And how would this work. How would you be able to persuade Ronaldo." Zach asked him with curiosity in his tone.
"Well he is well aware of the bonds and the ties that my family have with his own and he knew that it wouldn’t. do him any good if he were to try and go against me. so if he was smart then he would know that it was in his best interest for him to keep things civil and make peace with me rather than make wat." Marico said to him with a shrug of his shoulders.
"You seem to have it all figured out don’t you." Zach said to him in a whisper. He watched as a look passed through Marico’s eyes before he shrugged his shoulders. "well of curse I would be willing to do anything that I can in order to help." He said firmly.
Burt maybe that was the problem for Zach. The fact that he seemed to be aware of everything and the fact that he already had everything well figured out.
Zach was still on the fence about letting Marico help but however despite his own hesitations he could tell that there was some sort of sincerity to his word and it was something that he considered admirable.
"Well I have to say that I do respect your loyalty and perseverance and your need to protect your family no matter what. That is something that I am always going to respect you for and there is no doubt about that." Zach said to him.
"Well you know that I would do anything for you son and I would never do anything that wasn’t for our own universal good." He said to him assuring.
Zach couldn’t help but smile at his words. Maybe he was being a little too cautious with him. He hadn’t detected anything wrong with his behavior yet and there were no further secrets that he seemed to be keeping from him.
So maybe it was time for him to backdown slightly and give him some breathing space after all.
However Clara didn’t share such sentiments.
instead she felt anger as well as rage. She couldn’t believe that her own father was siding with the smiths.
He had told her that he would do everything that he could for the Windsor family that he was willing to protect them and they would aways come first.
But now it seemed as though it was the opposite that was happening.
It seemed as though instead of protecting their own family he was putting his life on the line for Zach and to help him out at any cost.
She couldn’t believe that he was willing to risk his own life to help out Zach. He was putting the destiny of their family on the line in order for him to get into Zach’s good books and she couldn’t help but feel helpless as to why he would do that.
She felt as though he was betraying them and the least that he could have done before jumping into such decision was to at least tell them.
She felt as though he wasn’t thinking about himself or about them at all in that moment. The only one and person that he seemed to be interested in pleasing was Zach.
She found it ridiculous that he was willing to risk his own safety in such a way.
He seemed to not realize that he wasn’t just going up against anyone. He was going up against the military. A military commander to be exact.
And one that had faced off against Zach prior to thins.
Not to mention the fact that the encounter which they had wasn’t one that had ended well but one that had left the commander with a broken nose.
The fact was simple and that was that it didn’t matter how much connections the Windsor’s had with the commander he would be furious when he saw them.
He would be offended even that they could even consider forming an alliance with Zach and still come back to him to plead with him that he still formed a n alliance and worked with Zach.
The military weren’t known for having much patience and when they heard something that was displeasing to them the chances were that they would lash out in one way or another and they might even go as far as taking out their own anger on the person that had been there to deliver the message to them.
She didn’t know what her father was planning but she knew that it wasn’t anything good and if she were to give him advice she would tell him not to go through with it.
It was a bad idea and maybe that was why he hadn’t sought her opinion on the matter because he knew that she would say no and that she would turn him down.
She felt as though he was too blind in his need to please the smiths that he wasn’t able to realize or comprehend what this meant tor him and his family.
Yes he was trying to keep the smiths safe because he felt as though he was in need of their alliance. But he didn’t understand what he was putting at risk in order to do so.
The smiths might have only been facing attacks from the government and were swatting off attacks that they could easily pay off but the fact was that what he and his family were risking and putting on the line was much more than that.
She knew that before he would be able to get to the commander and have him agree to his offer he would have to grovel and beg.
It was something that no man of order should have had to do. It was as though he was being stripped of his dignity and she couldn’t begin to imagine the type of impact that it would have on her family.
She didn’t want to have to go through that, she didn’t want to have her family become forced to be the laughing stock and become undignified.
She didn’t understand either why he thought that even or a moment that it would be okay for him to lower himself to such a station.
This fight wasn’t between the Windsor’s and the military but the smiths and the military.
It wasn’t the Windsor’s that had started this but the smiths and she believed that it was time for them to figure out a solution to their own problems and find a way to fix the problems which they caused for themselves.
She didn’t know why he was involving himself and she saw no need in him doing so. When the Windsor’s had gone through their own troubles he had thought then that they could only count on themselves and they were the only ones who could help themselves out.
And yet now when it was the smiths that were having problems and they were the ones who needed help it seemed as though he was more than willing and ready to give it to them.
It seemed as though the smiths were always going to have it easy and they would simply have to be the ones trailing behind them waiting to get a bit of the scraps that they had left over.
She didn’t want this to happen that was certain.
Her father was making a big mistake and she wanted. No needed to stop him before he doomed all of them.
The only problem for her was that if she were to speak up about it now it would cause the others to question why she was trying to stop her father from doing something good.
She should have been encouraging him rather than putting him down.
Burt that was what they would always say. They would always be on the side of something that would end up bringing them benefits but they never cared about the consequences that it would bring towards the people that they put in harm’s way in order to do so.
Zach couldn’t help but feel a stir in his chest at Marico’s words. Maybe he had been too harsh on him.
Marico had proven to him that he was an ally and that he was some that he could count on over and over again and yet it only took one slipup for Zach to start rethinking their partnership.
The truth wads that being the head of the company had taught him that no one was his friend and that he had to remain alert and keep his eye open for everyone around.
He never knew who could be a traitor or who could be listening in and that was why he had chosen to keep his guard up around him.
However now that he saw what he was willing to do for him he couldn’t help but feel slightly embarrassed.
Marico shouldn’t have been the one who was out trying to broker for peace on his behalf. Zach was the one who had put them in this situation.
He was the one that was supposed to be working towards solving it and yet it seemed as though everyone else. was telling him how to go about it.
"I don’t know what to say. I am kind of embarrassed that I am putting you in this situation." Zach said to him in a mutter under his breath.
