There was no room for giving out bribes in his own empire and he wasn’t about to start doing it now.

"I will do it. I will call in the military." He said to her and he watched as a small smile made its way onto her features.

"I knew that you would make that decision soon enough. After all I know that you would be the last one that would decide to fold to the government." She said to him.

He only hopes that he was making the right decision and he could only pray that it would all work out fine in the end.

The government thought that with Candice gone they could weasel their way into his life and use him. But they were wrong. He wasn’t about to back down and he would make sure that they were unable to get to him the dame way that the others weren’t either.

He wasn’t one to give up and run away and he wasn’t about to start doing it now.

Zach was able to get a hold of the reginal commander of the military through one of Andy’s connections.

He was a man by the name of Ronaldo. He was set to meet up with him in a restaurant so that he and Andy could talk to him about what they needed from him.

Andy and Zach sat in the restaurant along with Brittany as they waited for him to come in. they were set to meet up with him at noon and they had decided to come in early so that they would reiterate the seriousness of the situation.

As they sat there waiting patiently Andy decided to speak up. "I hope that he isn’t late this time." Andy said as Zach looked towards him with a quirked eyebrow.

Zach was about to answer when they heard the bell above the restaurant door ring.

He looked up to find s man that was decorated in a uniform of the military standing before them. His face was hardened as his gaze found them.

"that is him." Andy said and Zach hummed as he nodded his head at him.

They watched as commander Ronaldo made his way over to the table before he sat before them.

"I am glad to see that you came on time." Andy said to him. Ronaldo looked towards him with a quirked eyebrow as he played with his cutlery.

"actually I came here before the two of you did. I stood outside observing you." He said to them calmly.

Andy furrowed his brows in confusion as to why he would do that. "but why didn’t you just come inside to wait." He watched as Ronaldo shrugged his shoulders at him absently.

"I wanted to observe the two of you for a while. The most things about a person are leant through observation." He said to them.

Zach was surprised by his words and the last thing that he had expected was fort him to say something like this.

"And what did you observe." Zach found himself asking. He watched as the general shrugged his shoulders at him.

"Well not much and I saw that it was time and I decided to walk in."

"Welk we are glad that you joined us and we welcome you to the city." Zach said to him with a smile as he looked towards the commander and he offered him his hand for him to shake.

He looked towards the hand at first unsurely before shaking it.

He turned his attention towards Andy who had been yet to say anything but he slowly offered him his own hand as well as they shook.

They cleared the air ;after they were able to exchange the customary greetings.

Carol had suggested that Zach brought Brittany along with him. After their conversation she wanted Brittany to go out and explore more and she thought that this would be a good opportunity for her to be able to meet other people.

Brittany had been hesitant at first but she also knew that she couldn’t go against the princess and so because of that she had decided to come along reluctantly.

She stood to the side whilst the men sat together and conversed between one another.

"Okay know that we have gotten the greetings out of the way let us get down to business then." Zach said as he straightened himself up in his seat.

The commander nodded his head as he did the same. "Yes let us get back to the reason why we are both here."

"Well I believe that we would like to hire you and your men commander Ronaldo. We believe that you can give us an edge over our enemies and keep us protected. However Carol tells me that you would most likely call for a large sum and so I would like to tell you that we are willing to pay that amount whatever it may be as long as it is enough to assure us that we can count on you." He said to Ronaldo.

He had expected Ronaldo to smile in agreement and agree with the offer instantly however he was shocked when he shook his head at him instead.

"Let us forget about the money it is irrelevant at the moment." Ronaldo said to him and Zach couldn’t help but furrow his brows art his words. That was the last thing that he had expected.

He didn’t understand what he meant by the should forget about the money. "what do you mean we should forget about the money. I know that you are a man of honor but I know that surely you wouldn’t be working for free. You must have a price." Zach said to him.

He watched as Ronaldo chuckled before his gaze drifted behind Zach and towards Brittany that was stood in the corner. "well I didn’t say that I would do it for no cost. I will be paid but my payment won’t be in money." He said to him.

Zach didn’t like the tone that she had taken and he had a feeling that he wouldn’t like the type of payment that he would be requesting.

"So if you don’t want to be paid in money then what is the type of payment that you are willing to take." Zach said to him through gritted teeth.

Ronaldo moved closer to Zach as he pointed his finger towards Brittany who stiffened as she realized that they were talking about her. "Lert us must say ghat I have developed quite an interest in that maid of yours. Let’s say that I would like to take her as my price." He said with a grin.

Zach was quiet for a moment as he balled his hands up into a fist. He knew that he needed to take a moment to calm down before he acted out and did something that he would regret but he couldn’t believe that he was shameless enough to act out and. Say something like that in front of him.

Zach can’t help but feel disgusted by the sight of him and he couldn’t believe that he would actually say something like that to him.

Zach turned his gaze towards Brittany for a moment and he watched as she shuffled on her feet for a moment and he could tell that she was uncomfortable and that only made him angrier as the last thing that he wanted was for her to be uncomfortable.

He couldn’t believe that Ronaldo was in fact interested in sleeping with her. He had thought that he was going to be a man of honor and that he was a man that had respect and integrity but things were starting to show that he was wrong and he couldn’t deny the fact that it was a shame that he was already acting that way.

"Why the long face. I mean come on I just want to have a taste. I think that it would be a fair trade. You get me and my men to help you out and I get to have a taste of her." He said and he licked his lips slowly in a sickening manner.

Zach fritted his teeth further as he couldn’t help but clear his throat as though in an attempt to snap him out of his thoughts.

"She is not yours to have and I will not be letting you ache your way with her." Zach said as his voice held slight anger and he muttered the words through gritted teeth.

He watched as Ronaldo’s eyes widened as he seemed to be surprised by his words at first. He cleared his throat after a moment before he took a sip of his drink.

"I mean come on it isn’t you. Choice to make it is her decision so how about you don’t take the words out of her mouth. I want to discuss with the lady herself." He said sending her a wink.

Brittany couldn’t help but flinch at his words but Zach knew that she wouldn’t. day anything because despite everything she wasn’t going to do anything in order to ruin things for the smiths,. Even if she was uncomfortable she wasn’t going to allow them to see that and that was one of the reasons why Zach had to protect her.

She was one of their most loyal people and he knew that he had to repay that loyalty in one way or another. She had always been there for him and his family and it was his job to ensure that he kept her protected.
