Chapter 122: Notoriety

Eren’s triumph had quickly made their waves back in the Pitted Cavern. He could tell from the looks of shock and surprise that people gave him when he and his group had come to buy more stock from the market.

"Everybody’s looking at us," Sky said, hiding behind Eren. "Are they going to attack us again?"

"After what just happened, let them try!" said Paul.

"Don’t worry," Celeste said. "They’re just intimidated."

It was at this point that Pang Cai immediately ran over towards Eren as soon as the chubby guy saw them approach the market.

"My buddy, my friend! I’ve heard about what happened."

"It seems that you’re not the only one," Eren said to him.

Pang Cai chuckled. "Of course. Redd was considered one of the leaders that had a lot of potential. People were considering him to be in the top 10!

But now, he’s suddenly knocked down into last place. Everyone saw them all bloodied, and beaten, and ashamed as they exited out of their Territories. It doesn’t take a detective to understand that they had lost all of their Territories from their fight with you."

It seemed that Eren was starting to gain notoriety within the examinees. First, it was the loot box from the Lindbergs. And now, it was his victory against Redd, a supposed top 10 leader here in the Second Test.

People were now looking at him as a potential ally, or a potential target.

"Speaking of which... Do you have a map? I would like to consolidate the new Territories that are now in my hands."

Pang Cai was quick to give him a marked map detailing all of Redd’s Territories within the tunnels.

Immediately, he gave the map to Henry, Abe, and Paul so that they could go to their new Territories to harvest the resources there.

"No probs, leader!"

"We’ll make sure that we’ll have our new Territories in tip top shape!"

Then, Eren turned to Delia. "Send some of your group members with them. That way, they can also put some Array Formations there as a precaution."

It took them the whole day, but when they returned to camp, they came with bundles upon bundles of resources that were equivalent to its weight in gold.

There were some vegetables, some herbs, some livestock, and there were even some materials for Array Formations as well!

All in all, if they were going to be selling them to the market, they would be able to gain about 10,000 sunspores in total!

And this wasn’t taking into account the sunspores they got from Redd’s group as well. When they surrendered, they also surrendered all of their sunspores with them.

That added another 5,000 sunspores for their group!

They were now considered one of the rich groups in the Pitted Cavern!

The next day, they were visited by a small group of examinees in their tunnel. At first, Abe, Henry, and the others were afraid that another invasion was happening.

However, this new group of examinees were quick to raise their hands and show that they meant no harm.

"Please don’t hurt us!"

Abe leaned in to Eren. "Say the word, leader. I’ll beat them all into a pulp."

But Eren shook his head. These people were harmless. They didn’t even look to be capable of unleashing a single punch.

How did he know? That was because they looked very similar to the person he was back in Immor?. They were nerdy, weak, and very mortal.

"I know these people," said Delia. "They’re from the Academic Sector."

True enough, the fifteen or so people in front of them nodded at Delia’s words. "That is correct. We are scholars. We have come in the hopes of being recruited into your group, please."

Eren’s eyebrows raised. This was the first time someone had sought him out to become a part of his group.

"Why?" he asked them.

"We... we were temporary allies with Redd’s group...," said one of them.

Immediately, Abe, Henry, and the others assumed a wary expression.

"Don’t worry! We’re no longer allies with them. They had betrayed us.

Redd came to us with a proposal. If we helped them find some ways to counter an Array Formation, then they would take us into their group.

We believed them. So, we helped them. But in the end, once they had what they wanted, they immediately reneged on their deal! We were left completely homeless!"

Eren observed every single one of them. They exhibited no signs of deceit. They were telling the truth.

"But then... we heard about what happened. You guys actually defeated Redd and his group! And you did it through Array Formations, no less!"

"We were very impressed. And we hoped that you would take us under your wing..."

"Please... we have no other choice..."

Seeing their genuine plea, Eren turned to look at Celeste. "What do you think?"

She glanced back at the group. "They look like they’re telling the truth. And... it wouldn’t hurt to have more group members. With our new Territories, we’ll need some people to manage them."

Eren agreed with her assessment. "Alright. We’ll accept you guys. Under one condition."

They all looked at Eren, expectant of his next words.

"You do as I say, and nothing more. If I say something, you do it. No questions asked. Is that clear?"

They all looked at each other, confused as to why he had to make them promise such things, but in the end, they eventually nodded and agreed.

Eren then took out the stamp from his pockets. One by one, he gave them the mark, symbolizing them as one of his group members.

Now, their group has almost 40 members in total.

And with this influx of new members, their consumption of sunspores had become bigger as a result.

Of course, this wasn’t much of a problem for them.

"For your first order of business as our new group members, you have one simple thing you need to do.

Gather as many broken sunspores as you can get."
