Chapter 121: Victory

The effectiveness of the Array Formations caused Delia and the Academic Examinees to cheer in joy. It worked! Eren’s teachings had been correct!

It wasn’t long before more of those nets began to emerge from the ground, protecting Eren’s group from the aerial assault that Redd’s group was famous for.

Their flames backfired. It caused chaos and destruction to their numbers, completely nullifying the advantage they had in numbers.

"Stop shooting," Redd shouted to his men. Seeing the flames come back towards them, they knew they had to change their tactics. After all, their numbers were almost halved just because their attacks backfired on them!

"Charge towards them!"

"They’re just twenty people! We can overwhelm them!"

"Blitz them!"

Eren and Celeste held their ground as they saw Redd’s group charge forwards.

And as the invaders charged forwards, more Array Formations emerged from out of nowhere. The ground underneath their feet turned like quicksand, miring their feet from movement.

"There’s too many traps!"

"We can’t advance forward!"

"What do we do, leader?!"

The invaders were in complete disarray. It seemed as if every step forward had activated an entirely new Array Formation.

It completely defied any expectations. Most Territories only had about ten or so Array Formations installed around the area. After all, creating these constructs required a lot of resources, which could only be bought using sunspores.

Not only that, but the success rate in creating these Array Formations had caused them to be a very costly endeavor.

How could they have expected a group as small as this to have so many Array Formations?!

And surely enough, their blitz attack had completely been nullified by the traps Eren had set for them beforehand. The invaders were caught with their hands tied behind their back, allowing Abe, Henry, and the others to attack them while they were prone.

More and more invaders began to fall.

Eren jumped through tree to tree, before leaping into a dive towards an invader. His Primal Step launched him with an accelerated speed, further empowering his Primal Strike.

An invader hurtled through several meters after being met with Eren’s punch.

Then, Eren dodged as a katana sliced at him from behind. With a swift turn and jab, the invader’s jaw was met with a quick snap that completely knocked him out cold in a second.

It was at this point that Redd began to realize that they were destined to fall one by one.

The hundred or so members he had, were now only in their forties, with many more starting to get caught up in the Array Formation traps.

"Curse this!" Redd said, immediately turning around leaving the tunnel.

Eren immediately acted with haste and ran after him. There was no way he was going to let him go, not after this blatant invasion. He should pay for it with a few Territories that he owned.

Four of Redd’s personal guards immediately formed a protective barrier against Eren.

Just at this moment, a shadow flashed past beside Eren and knocked down one of the bodyguards with a swift kick to the ribs.

Celeste landed on all fours. "Go," she said to him. And without waiting for him to reply, she pounced on the next bodyguard and took him down like a tiger attacking a deer.

Eren nodded at her, before using Negative Reinforcement on his soles to allow each of his steps to gather better momentum.

Redd panicked as he saw Eren gaining on him. He used his sunspores and Reinforced his arms, before sending out a large flaming sphere towards the ceiling.

It exploded, sending chunks of stone raining down in front of Eren, blocking him.

Dust kicked up into a storm. Eren immediately jumped up and rotated his body upside down.

His feet stuck to the ceiling, allowing him to pass the obstacles easily. Redd’s face turned aghast as he saw Eren emerge from the cloud of dust in the rubble.

"Damn it!" Redd cursed. He took out batons from his back and stood his ground. "Come on!"

Eren lunged at him. A searing sensation warned him of an incoming attack on his legs.

He jumped up and kicked the baton, using it as a platform to jump up over Redd’s entire body.

With a somersault, Eren landed behind Redd. Then, he unleashed a Primal Strike straight into his torso, making Redd keel over in pain.

"ARGHH!"

Redd swung his batons, using his Martial Manual to protect himself from further harm. His movements were empowered with R?zoň, and it caused his batons to turn into flaming streaks of fire around his body.

Eren smiled before using another Primal Strike.

Flames fought with flames. And in the end, Eren’s ’simple’ Primal Strike broke through Redd’s 7-star Martial Manual with ease.

"WHAT?!"

How could he have known that Eren now wielded the Aspect of the [Primordial Fire]?

Eren unleashed another Primal Strike straight into Redd’s chest. His armor was of no use.

The punch had completely knocked him out cold.

Redd fell to the ground, defeated.

Eren stood there, triumphant. He then bent down and took the flags in Redd’s pockets.

Hmph. He was so overconfident that he didn’t even try to hide his flags...

They gained four flags from Redd’s group. And when Eren returned to their Territory with the flags in his hands, all of them immediately raised their hands in surrender.

Eren and his group had successfully defended against an invasion from a group with members thrice that of their own.

And it was made possible because of the Array Formations they had installed in their Territory.

"WE DID IT!" Sierra shouted.

"I can’t believe we actually survived that," Henry muttered. "I thought we were done for."

"Those Array Formations were the MVP!"

Celebrations erupted within the group. And for the first time, they all felt as if they had worked as one unit.

Delia’s group and Eren’s group became a lot closer as a result. This battle had shown that cooperation within both groups would result in a great victory!
