Chapter 109: Aerial

Eren immediately ducked down, with the beak almost grazing past his back. He didn’t have to do that. He could have Reinforced his back with R?zoň to protect himself.

But he knew that other people were watching him. No use showing off his trump card so easily.

Instead, he focused on dodging the eagle constructs. They were one-dimensional, meaning they were very easy to dodge. As long as he took into account their positions everywhere around him, he could easily guess which of the eagles would attack him next.

In his mind, a 3D visualization of the space appeared. It was much like his Mind Palace. Except, he was looking at his own body from a 3rd person perspective.

All around him, the eagles swarmed. Three of the constructs charged at him. Eren ducked and immediately moved the glyph on the Disc Platform, causing it to jerk forwards just enough for the eagles to miss.

Move two meters forward. It will coincide with an eagle aiming towards my right shoulder. I have to dodge to the right, not left. Otherwise, I will be hit by the other eagle.

His plans unfolded in his mind about five seconds in advance. And each time, his thoughts were accurate. The eagles moved mechanically, just like how he simulated it in his mind.

Behind him, everyone watched as the platform moved magically through the cloud of eagles, with Eren barely missing being hit by the constructs. But not once did he actually get hit, surprising them all.

"Is he just that lucky?!"

"How is he able to dodge them so accurately?!"

"The last time that we were there, we couldn’t even handle five of those eagles attacking us. And we had five people on that disc platform!"

It was at this point that the Scarred Leader gritted his teeth in frustration. Eren wasn’t supposed to last this long. He was now way past the halfway point!

He eventually shook his head. "Hmph! Let’s see if he can do that slimy dodging stuff after the eagles!"

Eventually, Eren moved forward with the disc so far that he had activated an entirely new trap waiting for him ahead.

And this time, ten more disc platforms emerged from the darkness of the chasm. Just like with the eagles, red symbols glowed on top of its surface, before the Array Formations activated and the platforms themselves began to fold, unfold, and twist and bend into very different shapes.

Eventually, ten cobra snakes emerged from the platforms.

These cobras were very big. Its mouth could swallow an entire person itself! Not only that, but these cobras had wings of their own, much like the eagles, allowing them to fly in the air.

"Ha!" the scarred leader shouted, trying to distract Eren. "These cobras are smarter, faster, and stronger than those eagles! You can’t dodge them like you did before!"

The large cobras hissed as Eren approached with his platform, before they disappeared out of thin air.

A searing hot sensation appeared on Eren’s shoulder, warning him of the attack. He immediately dodged away, but the cobra’s tail snapped at his shoulders, knocking him backwards.

He staggered to the edge of the disc platform, unbalancing it and causing it to tip backwards.

Eren was just mere inches away from falling down.

But he quickly tipped himself forward, re-centering the center of gravity towards the disc platform.

He heaved a sigh of relief. But that respite did not last long. After all, he still had an entire convocation of eagles chasing after him from behind.

Three of them charged at his back. They swooped down, only for Eren to dodge their dive at the very last second.

Stopping their descent into the darkness, they curved their path upwards for a second attack.

But it was at that moment that one of the large cobras appeared and crashed through the eagle’s wings, shattering it completely.

Red mist spurted out of the injured part of the eagle. The cobra had destroyed the part of the Array Formation that allowed its flight. Because of that, the eagle plummeted down along its fracture wing into the darkness of the chasm.

Triumphant, the large cobra snake returned back into its original position to attack Eren.

But it was at this moment that the other two eagles changed their directions away from Eren, and towards the large snake.

They swooped down from above, using their claws to grab at the large cobra snake.

It was unsuccessful. The cobra snake slithered away in time. But just at that moment, four more eagles swooped down and attacked.

Finally, one of the eagles caught its head in its claws, before it bent its legs and tossed the snake upwards for its beak to catch. Then, with one swift movement, it crushed the cobra construct into rubble.

Upon seeing one of its kind destroyed, the other eagles turned their heads towards the eagles.

And the eagles, on the other hand, didn’t back down as the cobras hissed at them.

Then, both species charged at each other, creating an aerial war in which both species tried to destroy each other as if they were in a real jungle territory.

Meanwhile, Eren continued to advance his disc platform forwards, now completely free from barrage from either of the two species.

It wasn’t long before he arrived at the end, where he disembarked on a cliff and found the flag waiting for him on the ground.

Without hesitation, he uprooted the flag and took possession of the entire Territory!

As soon as he did, the aerial war happening in the chasm stopped. They froze, turned their heads towards Eren, before their bodies began to quickly morph and change shape back into the disc platform they were before.

Eren had disabled all of the traps. He had full control of the Territory, meaning now, all of the other groups were forced to leave.

The scarred leader, and the ponytailed leader, and the rest of their group members looked at Eren with complete shock and astonishment.
