Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 519: Sparing

Chapter 519: Sparing

With Xu Feng and his guild leaving the portal like that, the others were not so friendly.

This was especially true for the Lunar Strikers Adventure Team. With OneManMedia still remaining behind a little bit, the stream was still active.

Cold Flare also received the "okay" signal from Moon Arrow that it was an ideal time to act now.

Hence, he quickly took the lead and glared at Emberwolf. "As fellow adventure teams, we're supposed to look out for each other. But I cannot believe you would resort to such despicable means."

"What?" Annoyed, Emberwolf instantly realized what Cold Flare was trying to scheme. He was trying to utilize public opinion and with the so-called righteous reasoning to kill and rob him of his rare equipment.

No, the worst possible situation was being killed back to level 0.

After all, the raid was completed and Xu Feng, without much of a proper announcement, disbanded the raid team already. In other words, they could now go free-for-all and battle to the death.

Usually, the Raid Leader would refrain from disbanding it until everything was secured and done. Otherwise, player killings would quickly commence.

With no more restrictions, why wouldn't they test their luck?

This was especially true when the players they were going to target had been labeled as rotten apples.

Grinning wickedly, Cold Flare spread his arms out. "The Raid Leader might have forgiven your misdeeds, but what about us? Our time and efforts could have been wasted because of your malicious action!"

Flinching a bit, Emberwolf twitched the corner of his eyelid. 'This damn Cold Flare bastard! When did he become so eloquent and manipulating public opinion?'

Suddenly, Emberwolf noticed the person behind Cold Flare. It wasn't that Cold Flare had become an eloquent person, but rather, his strategist, Moon Arrow was the one instructing him.

Emberwolf quickly composed himself, stood up, and confronted Cold Flare head-on. "Why are you only pinning on the weak, Cold Flare?"

"What? Still trying to be in denial?" Cold Flare snorted coldly at Emberwolf's gut to stand in front of him with an aura of confidence.

"I'm not trying to deny any wrongdoings, but our team has already suffered at Guild Leader Lin Feng's hands." Emberwolf shook his head and spoke calmly.

He then pointed at Soulstrider and continued, "He was also part of the saboteurs, but somehow not ostracized? Isn't that hilarious? Is it because Soulstrider hailed from a Guild? Also, the Eternal Guild also had a hand in trying to sabotage the raid!"

As soon as Emberwolf finished his accusation, the silence in the atmosphere was actually really loud.

After all, the Eternal Guild was somehow dragged into the pile of muddy water from out of nowhere.

What the others didn't know was that Emberwolf was 90% certain that the hidden saboteur was the Eternal Guild.

'That Lin Feng made a severe mistake to not cancel us right off the bat.' Emberwolf sneered inwardly. During the time when Xu Feng regrouped with everyone just some distance away from the Boss Room, he checked the death count of each player.

Aside from the saboteurs he knew, only DeathLingers from Xu Feng's group had died once. And Emberwolf would be damned to believe that an accident occurred, which resulted in an Assassin's death, and not a Tank.

The likelihood of an Assassin dying was 70% less than a Tank's death.

Not to mention, with the perverse pet of Xu Feng, Emberwolf highly doubted he would fail to defend DeathLingers in time, given they were also a Cleric.

'The only explanation for DeathLingers death should be that he was also a saboteur and caught.' Emberwolf deduced internally by then, but there was just one thing he couldn't comprehend.

Why didn't Xu Feng kill DeathLingers altogether?

His doubt was cleared right at this moment when Cold Flare only pinned the blame on their Adventure Team, avoiding the involved guilds.

While the atmosphere quickly turned awkward in this scene, Xu Feng and the rest returned to the surface.

"Why did you spare Emberwolf, Guild Leader?" Carmen inquired softly, changing her address to him back to Guild Leader.

"Do you really want to know?" Xu Feng mused and stretched his arms.

"Stop teasing and tell me already." She pouted like a little girl, a far cry from her previous demeanor during the raid. In the raid, she exuded a cold and frightening aura, but now, she was displaying a behavior similar to a wronged girl.

Chuckling in amusement, Xu Feng had the others take a rest near the entrance first. "Don't stray too far away and remain still here. Do your best to recover your stamina and mana."

Once that was done, Xu Feng found another empty spot to take a seat, which Carmen followed like a duckling would be toward their mother duck.

She swiftly took a seat next to him, her eyes staring intensely at him. Since she no longer needed to pose as a mysterious strong figure anymore, she was back to her conduct.

Don't know the answer to something?

Just look for the encyclopedia Xu Feng!

"Well, tell me now." Carmen smiled sweetly, going as far as summoning her Elementalists to surround the perimeter, ensuring the other guildmates could not approach them.

Speechless by her conduct, Xu Feng slowly nodded his head. "Very well, the question of yours shouldn't be why I'm sparing Emberwolf. But about why I'm not sparing the others." Read new chapters at My Virtual Library Empire

"Huh?" Her mouth was left agape, clearly more confused than before.

"You know that Emberwolf is not the only saboteur, right?"

"Yeah, there's also Soulstrider and DeathLingers."

"But do the others know?"

Carmen was about to respond but turned quiet after pondering a little.

Soulstrider and Emberwolf in cahoots was already a well-known matter.

However, DeahtLingers was a different circumstance.

Additionally, when Xu Feng exposed him, OneManMedia had already left to stream elsewhere, meaning no one else knew about their involvement.

"B-But you signed a contract with DeathLingers…" Carmen furrowed her brows and said worryingly.

"What's there to be worried about?" Xu Feng mused and shrugged.

"I'm not the one who exposed them." He added, deducing that Emberwolf should have long discovered the tiny hint he had left for him and was already doing his bidding without realizing it.
