Chapter 1421: Sunrise Inner City Part 38
Chapter 1421: Sunrise Inner City Part 38
In less than a few minutes, Xu Feng had already received so many volunteers to do the dance moves.
’Heh, GMP really does make the Vanguard members go crazy.’ He snickered inwardly. Just by using some GMP to entice them, they all fell into the trap he dug for them.
And even if they knew about his intention, they were more than willing to get caught.
"Alright, that’s 12 candidates chosen. No more!" Xu Feng announced. Without many surprises, the ones who got chosen were mainly female.
It wasn’t that there was gender discrimination going on, but the majority who danced well were females.
However, the truly surprising one was actually Lightning Blade.
"I didn’t know you could dance that well, Blade."
"When did you know how to dance?"
"What other hidden talent are you hiding from us?"
Lightning Blade’s face was a bit bashful when he got bombarded by a bunch of questions.
"I’ve learned it because I practiced swordsmanship. You know how sword moves are similar to dance moves." He cleared his throat and explained. This was the explanation he finally managed to come up with that sounded both reasonable and logical.
There was no way he would admit that he was forced to learn dancing because his mother wanted a daughter initially to inherit her dancing school.
Thankfully, nobody pressed on with the issue. Otherwise, Lightning Blade would really have to find another hole to dig and hide.
He wasn’t ashamed of knowing how to dance, but was ashamed of being focused on his dancing skills and not his swordsmanship skills.
’I’m a swordsman, not a dancer.’ Lightning Blade reminded himself silently. A sword whose only goal was to be the fastest and sharpest ever.
"Okay, stop being on cloud nine and come back down." One of Lightning Blade’s friends, Skyfire Mist, patted his shoulders and said. "The group already went ahead and stopped paying attention to your dancing skills."
Upon hearing Skyfire’s words, Lightning Blade turned around and noticed that the group had indeed left ahead.
Even those who were curious and raised questions to him earlier were ahead.
"Damn, their attention span is so short." Lightning Blade clicked his tongue.
People were like this.
When you are focused on, you might not enjoy the attention. But once you were no longer the focus, you would also feel sad or irritated by the loss of attention.
"Who would care about your dancing when the other female dancers are not only superior, but also more beautiful than you?" Skyfire Mist was a realistic man. His heart was already swooned over by his fellow guildmates.
When he recalled their alluring figures combined with the dance moves, he felt his heart throbbing. And then when he glanced at his buddy again, all those daydreams were wiped out in an instant.
"Are you seriously that heartless?" Lightning Blade twitched his mouth.
"Heartless?" Skyfire Mist rolled his eyes and snorted. "More like we were just curious where you learned to dance, so we can have a common topic to chat with our beautiful sisters.
Shortly after saying that, Skyfire Mist rushed ahead and began joining the flock of men who began asking some of the females how they danced certain parts.
"Tsk, woman will only hinder the speed of drawing my sword." Lightning Blade took a deep breath and held the hilt of his sword. It was concealed in a sheath, but with a single swift motion, the sword would be unsheathed.
"Stop speaking your monologue and catch up!" Unable to stand his friend going off the rail again, Skyfire Mist warned him to keep up with the team.
"Coming!"
Sometime later, everyone began fighting off the mobs that were scattered across the room.
There were enemies in the corridor, the ceiling, the shadows, and some were even cunning enough to disguise themselves as their fellow teammate.
Unfortunately for them, with Xu Feng’s boundless insight, all those under disguise were quickly revealed.
Other people’s boundless insight skills didn’t have such an effect because they weren’t enhanced by the Origin Power.
Of course, Carmen’s summons could detect them anyway because she was blessed with the Origin Fragment.
"Wow, this is actually very tedious," Carmen muttered.
"It feels like we’re in a different dungeon." Veronica chimed in. The atmosphere and vibe were a far cry from the previous Red Ogre Mist boss.
The others also agreed that the scenery seemed to have changed. The Red Ogre Mist was filled with an orange and red color scheme. But this upcoming path was somewhat blueish.
Moreover, the mobs’ design and skills were vastly different from the Red Ogre Mist route, in which they were just full of savages. Xu Feng was forced to choose a few people as bait to avoid the savages.
Yet in this particular route, Xu Feng actively took the time to search for the mobs and kill them thoroughly.
"You feel it’s different because each of the bosses has their own characteristics." Xu Feng calmly explained.
"The first boss, Red Ogre Mist, is known as a brute. Its tyrannical nature isn’t hard to guess, so even the mobs under them are full of savages. But in this next boss, we were clearly hinted at their characteristics."
"Hinted?" Carmen furrowed her brows before clasping her hands. "Is it those dance moves in the walls?"
"Mhmm, what usually aligns with dancing?"
"Elegant and artistry."
As soon as Carmen finished answering, she then checked on the mobs that they had been killing.
Each of these mobs wasn’t full-on aggressive. Instead, they used instruments and dance moves to create illusions.
"Wait a second, illusions..."
Suddenly, a chill crept down Carmen’s back as she realized something.
It was at that moment that Carmen paused her steps and noticed that the people around her seemed to have changed.
Aside from Xu Feng, everyone else started to have their necks twisted around as they smiled creepily at her.
"To those who can still hear my voice, then congrats. You have awakened from the illusion and should start paying heed to your surroundings."
Xu Feng’s voice once again resounded, but Carmen could see his silhouette vanishing.
"Hah, so I was trapped in an illusion." Carmen pursed her lips and smiled bitterly.
