Chapter 792 - 792: A fundamentally special kind of fight (part 14)

Karla's glee was interrupted by the disdainful voice of the silver-haired vampire mother casually saying.

"An "awakening gate", did you call that lapdog of the system to help you, I guess birds of a feather indeed flock together, especially since that's the one who picked you from the trash bin back then", said Aisha.

Karla's previously ecstatic expression turned into a hatred filled one, she was called a lapdog and a piece of trash in a single sentence by Aisha after all, unfortunately before she could lash at the silver haired vampire girl, she felt a shiver running down her spine, due to Freya's gaze which could kill right now.

"I see, so that's why you were "favored", one of those bastards was vouching for you", said the valkyrie girl as the grey silver energy around her battle avatar increased its fierceness, as a result her battle avatar grew once again, reaching eight kilometers of height.

At this point, Freya's battle avatar had even surpassed the size of Aisha's domain, in the 1:10 comparison, in terms of "range", because Aisha's heavenly silver firmament grew thicker instead of larger earlier.

Which is actually for the better, the "weakness" of battle avatars is range and that's where Freya was growing stronger, and the "weakness" of domains is "toughness" and Aisha's one grew solider.

"An unassigned administrator and a mortal, what is going on here, Karla?", an unfamiliar voice presented itself in the battlefield, if you looked into the origin of it, you would realize that… it was coming from the white and yellow decorated metal gate.

"So, this one can talk, it's different than the one that appeared for Arlion, though that wasn't the case back then, right little jealous mermaid?", said Aisha which made Karla grit her teeth.

'Fucking bitch, she even knew about the awakening gate, however, she didn't know that it had raised in ranks thanks to our cooperation, so she doesn't know the limits of…', Karla's inner monologue was interrupted by Freya directly saying.

"Don't let that disgusting thing trick you, mid-tier awakening gates indeed have intelligence, but they can't make deals with administrators and this one is connected to Karla, so that's a high tier gate from the hero type concept, right there".

Listening to the though calm, absolutely furious voice of the valkyrie girl, Aisha couldn't help but ask.

"Was it one like that the one that… turned you into an administrator?", Freya hadn't shared her backstory with anyone yet, not even with Daimon, in part because she originally didn't consider him as a possible contractor and in part because she rushed into starting to process the origin that was given to her, which is why she was pranked by Eve.

"Not directly, I defeated that bastard back then, but it was indeed the major reason as to why I was ultimately captured by the damn system.

"You see, basically all the upper echelon of my race is obsessed with war and the same applied to those around us, even after I exposed that the conflict, we got involved in was schemed by one of those bastards and got rid of it alongside the directly involved in the scheme… they all wanted to continue, so they sold me off to the system", said Freya to then add.

"It's a shame that it's not the one I fought with back then, since it's not missing an "arm", but to think you would call one of those guys right after also giving me a chance to slash "Ereth" down, are you trying to befriend me or something, Karla?", said the valkyrie girl.

Next in her killing list, right after Karla and Ereth who caused the death of her sisters, was the major reason as to why she ended up becoming an administrator and at the very top was the system itself.

As you can see, neither Freya nor Aisha were surprised over the appearance of a talking awakening gate, for different reasons, the valkyrie girl knew that not all the gates were the same, why, because she was visited first by one of those low tier ones which only follow the commands programmed into them, like the one that appeared for Arlion, back when she was "invited" to become a system user, and she destroyed not only one but ten of them.

So, next, one with an independent consciousness, also known as mid-tier gate was sent to recruit Freya, and the valkyrie girl destroyed it, four of them were sent and after a fight, she destroyed them too.

Ultimately, a high tier one was sent and after having its offer rejected by the valkyrie girl, a war involving her native place and all of their neighbors with which they had been at peace for who knows how many years, suddenly exploded.

And while a lot of people from Freya's race were thrilled over the previous, the valkyrie girl wasn't, she infiltrated the camps of the highest ranked official of the strongest faction involved in the war, aside her own, and discovered that the guy had… become a system user.

So, before any large-scale conflict could start which would cause deaths on all sides, that would fuel an actual war, she fought that guy and killed him while also damaging that high tier gate, and then exposed that the reasons for the war were fabricated by that guy and the high tier gate.

The problem is that most authorities wanted the war, so instead of treating Freya as a hero who had stopped unnecessary bloodshed, they considered her a nuisance and made a deal with a second high tier gate, with which they ambushed the valkyrie girl and even then, they were being destroyed until they used the lives of basically all non-combatants as leverage to have Freya stop fighting.

She was forced to become an administrator in exchange for all the authorities agreeing to not involve civilians in the war they wanted so much, and that is a resume of Freya's backstory.

You also now understand why she came to consider her "war" related powers as "evil", with her surrender she managed to somewhat secure the lives of non-combatants, but being "alive" and "living" are two completely different things, Freya was fully aware that countless people were going to die and even more were going to suffer the consequences of war.

Also, conscription, looting, enslaving the ones on the losing side and many other despicable things were going to happen and Freya who was removed from the "board" couldn't do anything about it, all because of the greed of the ones in authority.

Still, at the end of the day Freya had no reason to really blame herself, back then she called others to join and stop the pro-war faction, but no one among the ones that could have marked a difference stepped up, even the civilians she fought to protect turned their gazes away, though she didn't hold it against the latter.

After countless years trapped by the system, she understood that not all people in trouble deserve to be helped and she also found "peace" when she met her first sister only for that to be taken away by the system's arrangements, Alicia healed the wound in her heart but she failed to protect her too.

Which is why you should understand, why the valkyrie girl was radiating such a heavy killing intent as she glared at Karla.

"Leave the small chat for latter, these fucking bitches are crazy, I killed a "hero" so give me the status I deserve already!", shouted the mermaid-siren.

That was her last trump card, and no, she didn't even think in betraying Ereth, because she wasn't sure she could kill him even if she were to ambush him when he was in a limbo meaning that killing him wouldn't have condemned her to become a rogue, as she also wasn't her administrator properly anymore.

Instead of risking to do that, she fabricated a hero of her own, namely the champion which was given the hero-related rules too and was based in Ereth's existence.

"That war goddess seems to want to kill me, so make sure she suffers…", the gate was in the middle of talking when a pillar of silver lightning descended from above aimed directly at it.

"Clang!", only for a barrier to appear in front of the gate and block the incoming lightning.

"Boooom!", however, while the lightning was indeed blocked, the explosion caused a violent shockwave which pushed the gate a dozen of meters backwards.

"I usually don't pay attention to anything that won't benefit me so I wasn't planning on doing anything besides collecting the corpse of that war goddess, but to think that a mere mortal dares to attack me and from above too".

"It's your lucky day Karla, I was just going to give you a low ranked candidate concept according to the "offer" you made, but I'll chip in to show that lowly mortal what actual power looks like", said the gate only for Aisha to chuckle as she snapped her fingers.

"Things don't work that way around here, you don't get to decide who beats you up, just ask the other Karlas", before both the gate and Karla could react Aisha flashed from her current position and appeared in front of the mermaid-siren.

"Majestic White Empress, Heavenly Demon Sword", that was a technique which used two domains as the first part of it signaled, however it used all three of Aisha's energies, resulting in a white-grey sword which was crackling in violet silver lightning energy, which was slashed at Karla who put the dark red trident in front of her in a try to block, which was accompanied by the gate projecting that barrier from earlier as well.

"Crack!", to Karla's disbelief, Aisha's sword cut through both the gate's barrier and her promise level treasure as if it was nothing and then slashed her all the way from her right shoulder to her lower left abdomen.

"Boooom!", the heavenly demon sword crumbled apart after a single usage probably because what it had been used to cut, but Aisha's energies were released at point blank against Karla, which was… bad.

"Aghhh!", the wound that Karla had just received was further worsened by the energy explosion which sent the mermaid-siren flying into the distance.

"Clang!", as for the gate, its left leave opened and it released a white-yellow battle mana stream which was deviated by Freya who had just appeared to cover Aisha's back, and manifested her battle avatar to smack away the gate's attack, sending it right to where Karla had just landed.

"Boooom!", the mermaid-siren who was pouring her all into putting out the pain of the wound she received from the heavenly demon sword, was blasted into the distance by the gate's attack landing on the ground close to her, and as if to add salt to the wound, Aisha turned to see the gate to say.

"If other people heard you, they might think you are actually important, and not just a slightly bigger mass-produced lapdog of the system, created to recruit and manage the hero category among the awakening type of users and administrators".

"…", the gate which was in the middle of "blessing" Karla in an unconventional way, as it used that attack which accidentally ended up harming the mermaid-siren as a medium, unlike the usual whole sacred light bath spectacle, froze there for a second, before it roared to his insides.

'How the fuck does she know that!', the answer amusingly lied in the one that the gate had come to assist, in other words in Karla, because Aisha had just finished to decrypt the memories of the most important question she made through her blood reading, namely "What were Karla's powers", well, the question included Ereth but to the end, the interference on his end was too strong, Aisha realized that to focus in getting important intel from Ereth, she needed all of Karla's blood without any resistance on the mermaid-siren's end, in other words Karla had to be dead.

So instead, she focused in the mermaid-siren only, and the result had finally showed, that's how she knew about this specific gate which was the one sent to fetch her.

These gates apparently operate exclusive for hero and devil type users, for the former they are white colored, for the latter they are black colored and only of the awakening type, which according to Eve is just one of the major categories in which users can be classified.

Aisha now learned that administrators are also classified, Karla was chosen to be the administrator of a hero concept of the awakening type, so this gate's appearance meant that Ereth is or at least used to be a user with those characteristics, since who knows in what he has turned nowadays, considering that he returned to be a user but that didn't seem to be connected to Karla, though from Daimon's perspective he still "feels" like a hero.

Anyway, the silver-haired vampire mother now saw what was Karla doing during the time before she was assigned to Ereth, she assisted this gate which went around recruiting other both administrators and users, which is why it had become a high tier gate from being merely a low tier one back when it took Karla in.

'That explains where did Karla's other half got the idea of making a degraded fake version of a "system" back at Kerrol to try and trick my darling, she had some experience in the field', thought Aisha.

Seeing that Freya didn't look particularly interested in the gate, given that facing him didn't bring her that "happy" vibe that she had when she was slashing and burning Karla, Aisha softly laughed as she said.

"Since this gate in particular wasn't involved with you, focus in the little jealous mermaid", said Aisha to Freya who nodded in response.

"Mm", to which Aisha added.

"Ah right, I don't mind if you turn her into a pile of broken bones and bloody flesh, but don't erase her completely", said the silver haired vampire girl, which was accepted by Freya.

"Be… careful, that thing is of extreme positive orientation in terms of affinity but they are disgusting in every sense of the word, also they can exert the highest power allowed in the context of the place where they appear with ease", mumbled the valkyrie girl, despite she not showing it, she was worried for Aisha.

"Thanks~", which earned her a smile from the silver haired vampire girl to Freya whose battle avatar exploded in grey silver energy as she charged towards Karla who was only getting up after being blasted into the distance, and was now enveloped in a "sacred" white-yellow light.

"Where the hell do you think you are going!", shouted the gate as it chased after the valkyrie girl.

"Majestic Silver Empress, Heavenly Stele Step", with a few words, Aisha disappeared from her previous position leaving behind an ethereal trail of violet energy and silver lightning, as she appeared above the gate.

"You are not the only one who can control space even in this damned place!", said the gate, that's right the previous technique allowed Aisha to move through space, she earlier used it without chanting which is how she took Karla and the gate by surprise, though after seeing it once, the gate had understood why.

And the gate could do it too, but it wasn't even remotely close as refined to the method used by Aisha.

"Crack!", a fracture in space sucked the gate into it, to then "spit" it out in front of Freya, the right leave of the gate opened and a magic aura armored arm emerged from it and then pointed its open palm at the valkyrie girl as a it gathered magic aura to form a sphere.

In terms of size the gate even made Freya's battle avatar look small, considering that the gate was around forty kilometers tall due to both the suppression of the blood prison realm and of Aisha's domains.

Like Freya had said, the gates innately have the ability to exert power at the peak of the context of the place where they appear and in the blood prison realm that was half step Stellar rank, however a high tier gate had way higher battle prowess than the realm it "possessed" at the time.

So, the arm of the magic avatar that came from within the gate was big, in a rough calculation it should belong to a magic avatar around sixteen kilometers tall, it's also worth mentioning that they use origin like administrators, and turn it into the energy of their preference, in this case magic aura, though earlier it used battle mana, perhaps it changed to magic aura because it was facing the valkyrie girl.

"You are not the only one who can use strong techniques without chanting", said Freya, throwing the gate's words back at him as she snapped her fingers.

Then another new technique made its appearance, but you'll have to wait a bit to know its name, though you get a description of what happened after Freya used it, banners appeared behind both Aisha and Freya herself, one behind each and they had the words "Aisha" and "Freya" engraved in them respectively.

Also the banners themselves didn't burn this time, only the word engraved in Freya's one which was her name was the one that disappeared, replaced by the word "Aisha", and as a result the silver haired vampire silver haired girl appeared where Freya was floating a moment ago, while the valkyrie girl was where Aisha used to be, at least until she flashed from there bypassing the gate to go after Karla.

"Damn it!", the magic aura sphere held by the magic avatar's arm was crushed by it and it released a twenty-kilometer-wide magic aura explosion trying to catch Freya who had flown into the distance.

"Majestic Silver Empress, Celestial Lightning Javelin", Aisha pointed her pretty index finger frontwards at the incoming giant magic avatar's arm which was now a few dozens of meters away of her given that she had exchanged positions with Freya, which despite the gate not showing it was also using a magic art, the thing truly wasn't playing around, it wanted to kill Freya in a single go, to demonstrate its "superiority".

"Booooom!", a violet and silver energy stream the same size as the spherical magic aura explosion, reached the latter as soon as Aisha released her technique and it forcefully dragged the gate's magic art upwards making it explode high into the sky as both attacks impacted the heavenly silver firmament and the violet blood stars above, making small wisps of both energy and magic aura rain down upon the gate and Aisha, engulfing them both in a continuous energy explosion.

And that is good because while that disastrous explosion recedes, we can take a look at how things were doing between Freya and Karla now.

After being "bathed" by the sacred light coming from the gate earlier, all the scars and cutting marks left on Karla's body by Freya, had disappeared, what's more she now radiated a brave and refined aura and in fact looked quite radiant and beautiful.

At least until you take into account the fact that her face was distorted due to the seething rage she was feeling, why, because she was blasted away not only by Aisha but also by the gate which used the opportunity to give her the status of a hero candidate through that deviated attack.

"To the end, you fucking bitches keep getting on my nerves!!!", roared Karla, her hero promotion ceremony was turned into a joke because of Aisha and Freya, what was supposed to be a dignified ceremony turned into a humiliating moment, so of course she was furious.

Still, it is true that she did benefit from the previous, though since her champion only counted as a "candidate", so the gate only gave her the status of a candidate, the latter pulled some strings to grant her a higher concept candidature than she should have obtained from killing the champion.

"Crack!", speaking of using others to her benefit, Karla destroyed the dark red trident which was slowly regenerating after being cut by Aisha's heavenly demon sword, and the thing turned into a malleable blue-green substance that shone in a lifeless gray energy which wasn't neither mana nor battle aura or any of their variations, that was origin.
