She ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍was dead.

Claudio ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍de Cronis had told Simon so himself.

And ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍yet she stood before him now.

Worse, ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍she looked exactly as she had decades ago.

‘Have ‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍I been swallowed by the Anomaly's Curse?’

It was the only explanation Simon could imagine for the situation.

“This is not a Curse.”

“……!!”

“Simon, you are still as reckless as ever.”

FWOOSH—

The power she released wrapped around Simon's body.

Warm.

It was Divine Power he had forgotten after her death.

Simon had not visited a temple since Tatia died.

Even after Eurasia became a kingdom and his personal relationship with the Pope recovered, he continued training without ever setting foot in one.

That was precisely why he knew.

The Divine Power touching his body belonged to Tatia—the same power that had supported him long ago.

“How……?”

“Claudio stopped my time. Now it has simply begun flowing again.”

Her hand touched Simon's where it gripped the sword.

“I am told decades have passed, yet your obstinacy remains unchanged.”

She remembered the man he had been in the past, declaring that he would become the strongest knight and establish a kingdom capable of opposing the Empire.

He had done it.

He had become the greatest knight on the Continent and the center of the Kingdom Alliance resisting the Empire.

Therefore—

“From now on, I will stand with you as well.”

FWOOSH. FWOOSH.

Light surged from her Divine Power again and again.

“…….”

The moment her Divine Power entered his body, the reflux subsided.

Divine Power had no inherent ability to calm Mana reflux.

The reflux had quieted solely because Simon's body recognized her Divine Power.

That was how great Tatia's presence was to him.

“You faced the Imperial Knight Order alone and did not suffer a single wound. As expected…… 9-Star truly is different.”

Simon himself might not realize it, but to Tatia, standing beside him felt almost like standing beside a descended God.

Claudio possessed tremendous Divine Power as well, yet this was different.

Then—

SSSSSS—

Radiance wrapped in Evil Energy seeped from the sword in Simon's hand.

“That sword?”

“Adamas. A treasured sword of my ancestor.”

Simon explained the sword with characteristic bluntness.

His attitude was almost absurdly dry for someone speaking of the object that had once plunged him into Oblivio, and Tatia laughed despite herself.

“So this is the legendary Magic Sword.”

According to Claudio, those born with destiny retained their memories even after Regression.

Simon must be the same.

He had said that he had never obtained Adamas in his previous life.

And yet—

for some reason, the Anomaly's Curses had been sealed inside Adamas.

Before she realized it, the corridor once drenched in the Imperial Knight Order's blood had become saturated with Radiance.

A Domain had unfolded.

“This is made of at least a hundred Curses…….”

“It seems the Anomaly took a liking to your Divine Power.”

“…….”

Only now did Tatia fully grasp how many of the Anomaly's Curses Simon had been enduring.

If he ever learned to wield this sword completely, he might be capable of cutting down even a God.

A Saintess helping an atheist wield a weapon capable of killing Gods.

“This has become awkward.”

Despite her words, Tatia was smiling.

She had always dreamed of fighting a war at Simon's side.

And the subject of the oracle Claudio had received had finally been revealed to be Simon.

‘He must never be allowed to fall, but…….’

“Did you not say the laws would sanction a Saintess for accompanying someone for personal reasons?”

“There is a Saintess in the modern era greater than I am. And the laws have changed with the passing years.”

Perhaps, in the not-too-distant future, Divine Power itself would disappear.

This might be their final opportunity to bring down the Empire.

“Did you not say that being dragged around by others did not suit your personality?”

“……?”

“How long do you intend to let the Anomaly's Curses drag you around?”

“…….”

“Since we are here, let us go inside together.”

If the Curses sealed inside the sword could unfold a Domain, Tatia reasoned, then the reverse should also be possible.

WHOOOOOM—

The Divine Power Tatia drew up wrapped around both of them.

“Overlaying one Domain with another should be within your ability, should it not?”

“You make it sound easy.”

Despite his curt response—

CRACK.

Simon gave a faint smile and drove the sword into the floor.

Then—

“Carpe Illusion.”

Gray Mana mingled with Radiance.

RRRRRUMBLE—

As Mana and Radiance resonated, the space shook violently.

How much time passed like that?

“Unexpected guests have arrived.”

A man appeared in a place Radiance could not reach.

Even as Simon and Tatia raised their Presence in vigilance—

“Greetings, descendant of Eurasia.”

the silver-haired man only smiled, showing not the slightest displeasure.

“My descendant.”

***

“You have pushed yourself for far too long.”

Lan spoke quietly as she helped Claudio recover.

He had not suffered a physical injury.

For decades, he had remained synchronized with numerous Divine Objects without a single day's interruption, and recently he had severed all of those connections.

The Divine Power suddenly made available to him had failed to settle and was tearing through his body.

Lan was personally breaking down the internal boundaries so that his power could return to its proper place.

“If you had been able to use this much power earlier, suppressing the Cardinals' rebellion would not have been nearly so difficult.”

“That is already in the past.”

“Are you all right?”

“With what?”

“Saintess Tatia.”

“…….”

The Previous Saintess, believed to have died decades ago.

Her return without having aged a day threw the Holy See into chaos.

Claudio defended her by declaring that she had been carrying out a solitary mission under an oracle from God Veritas, and that he himself had authorized it long ago after receiving an oracle from God Cronis.

“If you are asking about my decision as Pope, then yes. She needs to be with Simon.”

The future he had seen.

‘Simon, returned through Regression, takes hold of Adamas.’

With Tatia's help, he finally masters 9-Star and faces the Emperor.

‘Beyond that, I could not see.’

Claudio did not know whether the Eurasia forces under Simon would succeed in cutting down the Emperor.

What he knew for certain was that the Monster Lord's Wave had not occurred.

“The future has changed.”

“…….”

In the past, Claudio had failed to awaken Tatia.

Rastian Arken.

The master of three Magic Towers, now called the Mixed-Color Duke, had sealed the Temple of Time.

A mage who reached 9-Star through his research into Gods and the Anomaly.

His convictions might merely have differed from theirs before, when he was called a sage.

Now, however, he was little different from a madman.

And Claudio had the persistent feeling that he had forgotten someone.

Something important.

The inability to identify it gnawed at him.

Even so, he could not simply remain still and waste more time.

The Holy Nation's primary forces, including Gasli de Bellium, remained intact.

Three months had passed since the Kingdom Alliance entered the Empire proper.

Yet the Emperor still refused to appear, allowing only the Empire's forces to be consumed.

“It is time to counterattack.”

***

A hidden chamber prepared within the Imperial Palace.

SSSSSS—

The Monster Lord, wrapped in Evil Energy, was recovering his body there.

‘How irritating.’

More than three months had passed since the day he met Killian Eurasia.

Before Regression, that would have been more than enough time to bring down the pillars of the Kingdom Alliance.

Yet now he possessed neither a body of Eurasia's direct bloodline nor Adamas.

He could do little but recover from the wounds Palantir had inflicted upon him.

More importantly—

‘The wounds are not healing properly.’

It was strange.

Killian had failed to obtain Adamas as well.

And yet he had possessed enough power to inflict injuries of this severity.

‘Once again, you…….’

GRIND.

The Monster Lord clenched his teeth and forced down the emotion boiling within him.

For now, drawing Evil Energy from the mountains and recovering his body took priority.

And—

he pressed down the thirst rising within him.

He recovered his reason and composure from the pain and organized his thoughts.

‘It is true that the future is moving in an unfavorable direction.’

He was one of Lord's cards.

After fusing with the Anomaly, Lord had separated several mortals from his main body.

The Anomaly was sealed in Adamas, while Lord's whereabouts were unknown.

The Monster Lord had needed to probe Killian Eurasia.

So he had lied, mixing half-truths into the deception.

It was true that Lord intended to raise the Emperor to Transcendence.

It was also true that the Monster Lord intended to surpass Lord.

The lie was that he had contacted Killian of his own free will.

Since Regression, he had not been free.

[Hmm.]

The Monster Lord looked at the being seated quietly across from him.

A man whose entire body was wrapped in pitch-black Mana like armor.

He had a human form, but golden eyes and vertically slit pupils made it obvious that he was a different species using Polymorph.

Another mortal created by Lord.

[Drago.]

“Recover your strength quietly, King of the Mountains.”

[Being trapped with you in such a cramped room is boring.]

GRIN.

The Monster Lord met the Dragon Lord's gaze without receiving even the slightest reverence from him.

Drago had been assigned as his watcher.

The Monster Lord's inability to seize Adamas with his incomplete Presence had not been caused by Killian Eurasia's Regression.

It was because of this creature.

[Do you not find it regrettable? The possibility of Transcendence is open to you as well.]

9-Star, once considered the limit of mortals, had become almost commonplace in the present era.

Edan Eurasia, who cut down the Monster Lord in his previous life and then remained sealed inside a sword for hundreds of years.

Simon Eurasia, born with a destiny more intense than anyone else's in the modern age.

Claudio de Cronis, one of the contingencies left by the high-ranking Gods led by Cronis.

Emperor Krusty Heinrich, the new possibility Lord chose to replace himself.

Other humans who might act as variables included—

‘Rastian Arken and Charles Cornelia, perhaps.’

In the process of inheriting the knowledge of their Magic Towers, both had temporarily escaped the limits of finite life.

Beyond them stood the Monster Lord himself and the Dragon Lord across from him.

‘Has there ever been a moment with so many beings possessing the potential for Transcendence?’

Judging from the memories he had accumulated over thousands of years alongside human history, such a time would never come again.

‘This is the last chance.’

By the time the Great War ended, one of the mortals would rise to the Presence of Transcendence.

Then Lord would absorb the Existence Force of the expanded world and use it to elevate his own Presence.

The Monster Lord tried to recall the one responsible for all of this.

“…….”

The memory that had been perfectly clear only moments ago blurred as though covered in fog.

It was an unfamiliar situation, and one deeply unsuited to him.

‘I cannot remember?’

“Killian.”

[What……?]

“Killian Eurasia.”

The Dragon Lord spoke calmly.

‘Right……. That was certainly the name.’

Some kind of Formula had activated.

[How do you remember him?]

“Being one of Lord's cards does not mean we all share the same objective.”

[…….]

The Monster Lord fell silent at the Dragon Lord's answer.

“He is not the one who interests me.”

[…….]

“Hazard.”

The Mixed Dragon hatched by Killian Eurasia and Charles Cornelia.

“We will meet soon enough.”

GRIN.

Drago smiled to himself in satisfaction.

‘What a strange bastard.’

The Monster Lord clicked his tongue inwardly and resumed thinking.

Killian Eurasia.

Adamas.

Names he had believed impossible to forget were growing fainter even now.

‘It is almost as if I have been struck by the Curse of Oblivion.’

It meant the bastard had done something again.

Then—

through his connection to hundreds of mountain ranges, the Monster Lord sensed a single human.

‘This one is…….’
