Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1971: The Power Of A "Living Stat"!

Chapter 1971: The Power Of A “Living Stat”!

Ignatius crossed his arms, a hint of jealousy in his expression. “So now your punches explode with shockwaves and fire? Great. You’re becoming the first elf gorilla in the world.”

“Hey! Don’t be jealous,” I teased, flexing my hand as faint red flames danced around my knuckles. “This is just the beginning. If Strength has this kind of skill tree, imagine what Agility, Defense, or even Luck could become once they get their own System Seeds.”

Yggdra leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with fascination. “Indeed. Each Stat could evolve into a living entity, with unique powers tied to its essence. Strength burns with flames, Agility might manifest as lightning, Defense as stone, Luck as shifting fate… You are walking the path of becoming a living pantheon, Sylphy.”

“Pantheon?!” I gasped. “Uh, really? I don’t know about that…”

Alice chuckled softly. “Well, maybe. You’re not just wielding a system anymore. The way you’re doing this now, it feels like we’re creating something far greater. Every Stat you awaken will become a soul, and together they’ll form a constellation of powers inside you. Strength is only the first.”

“Hm, that’s true…” As I rubbed my chin, I glanced at Strength manifesting in front of me. The Spirits and Familiars were playfully circling her, and she watched them in quiet curiosity.

My thoughts raced, and greed crept in. “Wait, Alice, can I get another Stat then? Heheh…”

“Nope, this is the limit for now!” she replied firmly. “Maybe later you’ll gain the power to infuse a System Seed into another Stat… but if you try now, you’re likely to suffer serious backlash.”

“Ah, okay, I get it,” I nodded. “It just makes me wonder what other sub-stats I could unlock. The idea of secretly having over nine other stats nested within a single one is fascinating…”

“Yes, it is,” Alice agreed with a nod. “Truly amazing. But for now, let’s focus on leveling Strength. Whenever she reaches max level, the Stat will Rank Up to the next tier. Her Class might change as well, and she’ll unlock more stat bonuses and skills.”

“So does Strength increase her level by killing monsters?” I asked.

“No,” she explained. “Stats level up by doing what the Stat represents. For Strength, that means using raw power to destroy, slay, lift heavy objects, endure the force of your own might, and so on. Hunting should work too.”

“Huhuh, nice!” I chuckled. “I wish I could get at least one more, but I suppose this is fine for now… I’ve got a new Reward System too, and… well, the whole thing about discovering the origin of my powers. I don’t know if it’ll help us someday.”

“Technically, now that you’re aware, you might be able to wield your power in entirely new ways,” Alice said. “And maybe even forge a Gate to the Soul Plane eventually.”

“Uuhh, I don’t know if that would be beneficial,” I replied. “What if some kind of Soul Monster appears or something? Are there Soul Monsters?”

“I don’t know,” she admitted. “But if the Plane of Souls were truly dangerous, I doubt Gods of Reincarnation would live there so comfortably…”

“Well… who knows…” I muttered.

“The knowledge that your Soul is directly tied and connected to the Soul Plane explains why you possess such an endless well of Mana,” Armageddon said, studying Strength’s structure closely. “You can perform so many miraculous feats because the System converts all that energy into tangible results. Look at this creature—a living spiritualization of the concept of strength that governs your body. I doubt even the gods above could craft something so intricately complex. The System Seeds, which transform and grant souls to inanimate objects or allow growth beyond traditional Cultivation Methods, are equally incredible… Technically, the System’s Leveling and Skill framework could be classified as Cultivation Techniques—or rather, an Immortal Art.”

“Huh? How?” I asked.

“Now that I understand more, I can deduce that the System Seed is like an artifact, a legacy, and a scroll all at once,” Armageddon continued. “The scroll is the status screen everyone sees, the legacy is what’s inherited from its original creator, and it arrives in artifact form—becoming a Soul Treasure embedded within a person’s soul, spreading roots and taking permanent hold…”

“I never thought about it like that, but yeah… technically the System is a Soul Treasure…” I murmured. “Wait, does that mean it can get stolen?”

“Fufufu, certainly!” Armageddon laughed. “It could be stolen if you face someone capable of infiltrating a soul, tearing it apart, and seizing what’s inside by force… I would guess only beings with true authority over souls—such as the Reincarnation Gods—possess that power. So be careful if you encounter one again. With their authority, they could easily rip Alice away from you.”

“E-Eh?” I stared in shock. “See, Alice? It was dangerous to go see your dad! Good thing we didn’t go.”

“Ah… No, but I am not a Soul Treasure…” Alice sighed. “I am a living being, Armageddon!”

“Fufu, Soul Treasures can be living beings as well,” Armageddon replied with amusement. “You are one of immense and intricate power. Because of your bizarre, faulty form, your inner circuits fused with Sylphy’s soul, technically refining most of her soul into a part of you—as you are part of her. Meaning Sylphy’s soul itself has become her own Soul Treasure.”

“Wait, what? That’s even more confusing…” I sighed. “Does that mean someone could refine me?”

“Ahhh, well, there could be a possibility if the being is strong enough,” she said. “However, it wouldn’t be easy. They would first need to beat you to death and possess the strength to refine something created by a Reincarnation God—an entity born between two Planes. That alone is a formidable task, even for the High Seats among the gods above.”

“Ah, well… I guess so,” I muttered. “That’s a relief… don’t scare me like that again!”

“Kukuku, were you scared, little goddess?” Armageddon teased with a wicked smile. “Gyehehehe! Hahahaha! What a pathetic face you make when you’re frightened—Gyaack!”

Before I could react, Alice suddenly grew to my size, seized Armageddon’s spiritual body, and squeezed hard in fury.

“Don’t say such things without thinking again, evil goddess,” she growled. “You’re only here because of Sylphy’s mercy. Your role is to provide support—not to mock her or threaten us with possibilities that may never happen. Behave yourself, unless you want me to refine YOU into a Soul Treasure! I’ve been considering it. Even if you can’t have a System, I could refine you with my powers and turn you into an autonomous puppet with no consciousness. It would grant Sylphy all your benefits and more—without you having any will or desires…”

“Eeeek! W-Wait, I was joking—Ack!” Armageddon choked out. “You already have me restricted to the point I can hardly do anything! Ugh, stop being so mean—you love bullying me…!”

“Alice, that’s enough,” I sighed, feeling a pang of sympathy for the ant. “It’s in her nature to be mischievous and a little sadistic, I guess. But words are just words. I’m not going to kill her over them.”

“Sylphy, you’re too nice,” Alice said, her tone turning unusually ruthless. “Let’s just refine her into a puppet goddess instead.”

I hadn’t realized she was having such a hard time dealing with Armageddon.
