Chapter 1807: Shade And Nepheline Against The Blazing Ant Saint

Chapter 1807: Shade And Nepheline Against The Blazing Ant Saint

—–

Shade and Nepheline confronted the Blazing Ant Saintess, a monstrously powerful foe who wielded the same special abilities as heroes. Upon her revival, she grew even stronger, absorbing the divine blessings of her fallen siblings to amplify her strength and magical prowess.

“I can sense several divine blessings stacked within her soul… which looks strange and warped. What the hell is she?” Nepheline wondered. “It’s as if she devoured her siblings’ souls! I know they’re monsters, but come on, how cruel can this bitch be?”

“A monster, no doubt,” Shade sighed, readying himself for battle. “Let’s use at least half our power, or this fight will drag on. We must aim to destroy her completely, nullifying her divine blessings in the process.”

“Got it,” Nepheline nodded, grinning as she prepared to fight. “Alright princess, ready for the beatdown of your life? We’re done holding back, even with those cutesy butterfly wings.”

The young queen, the chosen Saintess of the blazing ants, roared with fury, her golden body radiating with multiple stacked, twisted divine blessings.

“You talk as if you’ve already won! Using only half your power? Still underestimating me after my ascension?! I’LL BURN YOU TO A CRISP, HUMANS!”

As the young queen bellowed, her aura surged with greater intensity. It swiftly transformed, manifesting the same Butterfly Aura Beasts she had summoned before, but now dozens of massive Divine Spiritual Beast Embodiments appeared at once, each brimming with immense divine spiritual power.

Only one foe they had faced was remotely comparable to her: Arachne, with Lolth descended upon her body… and even then, the heroes couldn’t help but wonder what kind of aberration her mother might be!

“{Divine Spiritual Beast Aura Embodiment}: {Golden Flame Butterfly Swarm}!”

The young queen roared, spreading her blazing arms toward the sky as the butterflies descended swiftly toward her foes. Shade and Nepheline countered the onslaught with their powerful Auras and Divine Soul Weapons, unleashing half their power in unison.

“Let’s do this, honey!” Nepheline roared, her body rapidly fortified as she doubled in height, her form now composed entirely of stone, steel, and spirit stones as hard as diamond. Her aura surged, shaping into a giantess with multiple arms of solid divine stone.

“I’ve got your back,” Shade nodded, his eyes glowing bright red as his aura expanded into a colossal entity, a fusion of Vulcan and his Spiritual Aura Guardian Manifestation, Specter, forming a multi-armed, insectoid black knight of shadows and phantasmal flames.

RUMBLE!

Shockwaves erupted as they unleashed half their power, their surroundings disintegrating instantly as a spark of their emerging Divinity Aspects manifested, potent enough to obliterate the incoming swarm of butterflies in mere seconds.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Slashes of shadows and phantasmal energies, paired with powerful shockwaves of raw force, exploded everywhere, the Saintess’ colossal Beast Aura manifestations bursting into flames one after another.

“Got more than that, little princess?”

Nepheline appeared before the Saintess, swinging her massive hammer with immense strength and precision, channeling a portion of her divine power and half her might into a single strike.

“{World-Shattering Hammer}!”

The Saintess could neither evade, counter, nor escape. The hammer descended with such speed and force that the shockwave alone overwhelmed her magical aura.

BOOOMMM!!!

Her barrier shattered into countless fragments as the hammer crushed her head and torso, smashing her into the floor like an insect, splattering her into pieces.

A tremendous explosion followed. The Ant Queen revived instantly, possessing multiple revivals and using one the moment Nepheline’s surprise attack killed her. Her eyes widened as she absorbed the essence of her prior death to amass even greater power.

“GRAAAAHHH! HOW DARE YOUUUU?!”

With a piercing scream, her newly evolved body emerged, gleaming as if forged from golden metal. Bright white diamonds sprouted across her form, radiant light and golden flames emanating from her being as she summoned massive domains in rapid succession, engulfing Nepheline in endless golden flames.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

“HEHEHE… HAHAHAHA! I’VE BECOME EVEN STRONGER! EACH DEATH-“

SLASH!

The Queen’s eyes widened as her perspective shifted abruptly. Her head fell to the floor and rolled across it as she glimpsed her own beheaded body, with Shade standing behind her.

“W-Wha…?! How?! I died…?! But my flames…! What…?! This is…!”

Her mind swirled with disbelief and unanswered questions. She couldn’t comprehend what had happened before her death by beheading.

This was why Shade was an Assassin; his greatest skill lay in killing swiftly and efficiently.

He saw an opening and struck without hesitation.

FLUOSH!

“NNNGRAAAAHHH!”

Her scream of frustration echoed as she revived once more, her body and head fusing back together. Her flames turned white and gold, her metallic and crystalline form becoming more humanoid and taller, with feminine curves and additional arms. Her butterfly wings, now made of soul flames, spread even wider.

“{SOUL WEAPON: STAFF OF LUMINESCENT DAMNATION}!”

In a frenzy of fury and desperation, she summoned her evolved Soul Weapon, a giant staff of golden metal topped with a massive white diamond.

FLAAASH!

The Soul Weapon unleashed a destructive, all-consuming light, banishing all shadows to prevent Shade from sneaking through them.

“{Luminescent Infernal Pillar}!”

BOOOMMM!!!

A colossal pillar of golden flames erupted from her position, engulfing half the nest and reducing the surrounding mountains to ashes, leaving nothing behind.

The pillar of light and flames was so immense it pierced the clouds in its ascent to the skies…

“I did it! This must have surely…! Surely…!”

Yet she gasped as two silhouettes emerged toward her. Nepheline and Shade remained alive.

“T-This can’t be…! That man struggled so much before…! W-What…! What…?! WHAT?!”

They stood unscathed.

The Saintess began to grasp the true chasm in power between her and these heroes.

Heroes were often underestimated, but in this world, growth was limitless for those with the right tools, time, and effort.

Such opportunities were rare, and not everyone possessed them. Thus, “superior beings,” born with inherent power, often scorned humans or other races, viewing them as weaklings that were incapable of matching their greatness.

This was her sin, Pride.

And it was her downfall.
