Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out?

Chapter 1796: The Deadliest Father

Chapter 1796: The Deadliest Father

—–

Several attacks bombarded Shade from every imaginable angle. The assassin had never faced a foe capable of covering so many spots at once. Even the strongest opponent he had fought alone, the Demon King, whom he had dueled in that desperate battle to buy time for others to heal, could not cover every angle imaginable. Instead, the Demon King’s fighting style, akin to his wife’s, struck so powerfully that the shockwaves of his blows negated most smaller attacks at once.

However, Shade’s technique was far from finished. His thousands of stabs continued, faster, stronger, and mightier this time. His Aura erupted with power as he unleashed its potential after years of secret cultivation.

What emerged from his aura, his Aura Guardian, was a monstrous entity, a fusion of his spirits’ spiritual power and his affinities for darkness, shadow, phantom, and death, combined with the runes within his physique and magic circle.

“{Spiritual Aura Guardian Manifestation}: {Crazed Abyssal Slaughter: Specter}!”

A lanky, long-armed, long-legged entity materialized, its body wrapped in black bandages adorned with red runes, black nails piercing its spiritual form.

Its face revealed only a creepy smile with sharp fangs; the rest of its head shrouded in strange bandages.

Its hands bore long nails and claws, wielding sharp daggers crafted from dragon fangs.

Spiritual Aura Guardians were the evolution of Beast Auras, powerful guardians born from the fusion of a cultivator’s spiritual power and their soul weapon’s essence.

They possessed their own personalities, names, and abilities, shaped by their master’s preferences, personality, likes, dislikes, and, most crucially, their fighting style.

“GYEHEHEHEHEHE!”

The crazed abyssal slaughterer laughed maniacally, born from Shade’s grief, anguish, and horrific past. Combined with his masterful assassination arts and merciless killing experience, it could be said this was Shade’s shadow, a dark metaphor for his life.

“W-What…?!”

The ant panicked as Shade’s stabbing attacks grew faster and faster. They doubled in speed, then tripled, quadrupled, and ultimately became over ten times as fast!

Shade moved so swiftly that the ant couldn’t see his arms but felt every stabbing blow through his body.

The weapons used to attack Shade shattered one after another as the shadow hero’s Aura Guardian laughed, swinging its daggers against the ant.

“Such immense power! I greatly underestimated you, human hero! But I am not so weak either! Each second in this battle strengthens me!”

The ant roared with power and pride, respecting Shade with each blow exchanged. His aura erupted, shaping into a humanoid, muscular, oni-like entity—a Beast Aura evolving into something greater, imbued with divine spirit power.

The multi-armed, oni-like aura roared, conjuring its own weapons and attacking Shade, while Shade countered each massive blow with his Aura Guardian and raised his soul weapon daggers, firing three at the ant and three at its aura.

“{Divine Soul Weapon Explosion}!”

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

The explosions consumed half of the ant’s aura at that moment, while those aimed at the ant stabbed his upper arms, blasting them into pieces. Golden flames swiftly appeared to regenerate his arms.

“You rely heavily on your sister’s help. But I must admit, you’ve grown stronger.”

“In another time, we could’ve been rivals, human hero! Tell me your name!”

The ant charged forward, his aura regenerating to full strength as he swung all eight weapons against Shade, unleashing a relentless, blazing assault that engulfed the human hero in an inferno of deadly divine spirit flames.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

However, Shade’s eyes glowed deep red as darkness enveloped his entire body. His white skin transformed into shifting black darkness as he unleashed his true power.

“My name is Shade.”

RUMBLE!

His monstrous form manifested, a gigantic specter of shadows merging with his Aura Guardian to create a terrifying fusion, a nightmare solidified into reality.

His voice reverberated through the surroundings. The ant gasped, paralyzed, staring at hundreds of crimson eyes across Shade’s body.

In that moment, he realized Shade was not human. He was something far greater, a terrifying being.

Yet the ant smiled. His eight arms bulged with muscle as he pushed his physical strength to its limits, charging against the impossibly powerful foe.

“I have yet to receive a name, but today, as I fight you, I will be baptized by it! My name is Vulcan, the Weapon Master!”

“Good. Fight with honor and die with honor, warrior.”

Shade’s monstrous voice echoed as his daggers transformed into thousands of sharp blades surging from his body, clashing against Vulcan’s destructive eight-weapon technique. Explosions of flames and shadows erupted everywhere, green blood splattering onto the floor.

The golden flames couldn’t heal everything.

NNNGGGH…! Is this… how I face my premature death?!”

Vulcan smiled, his eyes twitching in disbelief, as he clashed with Shade from every angle. Gigantic shadow claws struck him, tearing his limbs one by one.

“RAAAAHHHH!”

With a mighty roar, his flames engulfed everything around him. Even with only one arm left wielding his sword, his soul and divine spirit power resonated with it as he sliced through Shade’s shadows for a moment, burning through all.

SLAAAASH!

“Hm?”

Shade felt a faint tinge of pain as he realized the ant’s attack was his last.

The blazing blade extinguished as the ant hero died, standing there, his soul blossoming beautifully as a warrior until the final second.

His wounds could not regenerate in time as black miasma covered them. Shade ensured he wouldn’t be revived by his sister, granting him an honorable death.

“You were not like the others…”

Shade’s claws extended toward Vulcan’s corpse, and his soul and body were enveloped by shadows and devoured completely.

“Your heart, though part of a swarm, was not with your tyrannical mother but on the path of a warrior. You’re fitting enough to join me.”

Shade’s words resonated with Vulcan, who felt overtaken by a sense of pride and accomplishment that someone as strong as the Hero of Shadows was recognizing his strength enough to let him join him.

His soul writhed as Shade’s shadows merged with it, Vulcan’s very being started to change, becoming something else entirely.
