Chapter 1775: Quetzal’s Quest 2

Chapter 1775: Quetzal’s Quest 2

“Quetzal! Are you okay?!”

Agua quickly flew to his side after noticing he had collapsed on a bunch of very sharp crystals. Any person weaker than him wouldn’t have walked away without heavy injuries.

However, he seemed alright, with a few scratches here and there, but he wasn’t even bleeding yet. He just looked annoyed.

“I’m alright, Agua. I suppose we were never going to get there without a fight, huh?” Quetzal wondered.

“Yeah… But what are those things?” Agua asked. “They’re like nothing I’ve ever seen before! Some sort of weird monster…”

“Hmm… They clearly don’t want me to get closer to that cube,” Quetzal said, squinting his eyes.

“SHYAAGGH!”

The monsters started walking forward, their appearances becoming more noticeable in the eyes of Quetzal and Agua as they finally saw their true forms.

They resembled strange mole-like creatures, without proper limbs but with long, spider leg-like fingers. Their legs and fingers had modified into more limbs, with their arms and legs disappearing in the process.

At the same time, they had two long incisor teeth that resembled yellow beaks but were teeth, and to make things more bizarre, they were covered in green and yellow feathers, even though they couldn’t fly.

They seemed to have no eyes either… But they could easily sense everything around them, exuding auras made of wind spirit energy.

“They’re so weird…! And… ugly…” Agua muttered.

“Moles? But they have feathers and… weird hand-legs…” Quetzal said. “I don’t know what to say… I expected birds or something that had affinity with the wind element, but this? It’s… uh, I don’t really know.”

“SHYAAARRGGH!”

The moles, as if understanding the insulting words they were saying, roared angrily, charging at Quetzal while releasing strong winds from their bodies.

Indeed, they weren’t what they expected, monsters adapted to anything in this world, but these were caves. Perhaps these moles were once much different, but through the consumption of wind spirit energy, they evolved into these creatures over thousands of years.

If Aquarian were here with her system, the system would most likely call these critters [Hand-Legged Feathered Moles], exuding the potent auras of Tier 6 monsters.

But for Quetzal, someone already beyond Tier 8?

It wasn’t that big of a deal.

“HAAAAH!”

With a mighty roar, he swung his hands forward as a giant rumbling tornado of emerald winds engulfed half of the moles in a split second.

RUMBLE!

“{Emerald Tornado}!”

FLUOOOSH!

Crystallized wind-attributed spirit energy emerged as he quite literally summoned a tornado made of emeralds, which constantly sliced and pierced the bodies of the moles.

Their auras were unable to fight back, immediately falling prey to his immense prowess.

“Oh wow!”

Agua looked at the scene with her eyes wide open. The moles were utterly demolished, their bodies dropping to the ground one after another.

At the same time, some larger ones started crawling toward them from the ceiling and behind, moving like spiders.

“Ah! Behind you, Quetzal!”

Agua wasn’t there just to watch. Her Mana and Spirit Energy combined as she conjured several icicles toward the moles, piercing their legs and freezing them, stopping them from ambushing or escaping.

“Thank you, Agua!”

Quetzal furrowed his eyebrows, pointing his claws at the dozens of Tier 7 Moles behind him and swinging his giant raptor claws.

“{Storming Claw}!”

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Suddenly, a storm of slashing attacks engulfed all the moles, tearing and slicing their bodies to shreds in mere seconds. Ths chapter is updated by N0v3l.Fiɾe.net

“Oh wow! Your techniques are so strong, Quetzal! Go! Go! Go!”

Agua cheered for Quetzal while raising her little slimy tentacles. She was his personal cheerleader, making him a bit embarrassed.

“Could you stop? It’s a bit embarrassing…”

As Quetzal sighed, the moles quickly began running away. He had slain over half of them, and the rest realized someone like him was simply not worth the effort.

“They ran away…” Agua said. “So they came from those holes…”

“Yes, I would prefer not to kill them all… I might’ve gone a bit overboard,” Quetzal sighed. “Thankfully, I managed to contain myself enough so the cave didn’t collapse… This power I have is a lot. I wonder if these hidden pieces might help me control it better.”

“I think they could!” Agua nodded. “Let’s go find it!”

“Yeah, let’s go,” Quetzal nodded, walking with Agua toward the cube and quickly touching it with his hands.

FLAAASH!

The cube reignited its bright green circuits as it began transforming. The orichalcum materials folded over and over again around something inside.

Suddenly, the entire cube disappeared, merging back with the ornament it was protecting.

“Huh? The cube was part of the item! S-So this is equipment made of Orichalcum! The strongest metal made by the gods!”

“It does seem to be that way… Can I even lift this?”

As the cube disappeared, what was inside was revealed: a giant mechanical wing of gold, green, and silvery-white color, glowing with bright green and golden light.

“It’s a wing…?” Agua wondered. “It seems very big…”

“Yeah… How many ornaments do I have to pick?” Quetzal wondered. “Is it… three or four?”

He couldn’t quite remember, but he still felt several other pulsating objects far from where he was, probably three more to go.

“I don’t know, but we should hurry. Please touch it! I think Khepri said that by touching it, you’ll know what to do,” Agua explained.

“Right…” Quetzal nodded. “I sure hope I don’t have to carry this…”

As he sighed, his hand touched the wing, which suddenly turned into an ethereal, spiritual form and quickly flew toward his body, disappearing.

FLAAASH!

As this happened, Quetzal felt a sharp pain in his soul, not his head, as the spiritual powers he had trembled. New memories appeared, images and things he had not experienced, like watching a movie in fragments.

“Ugh…!”

“Quetzal?!”

Agua began casting spiritual healing spells on him, helping him alleviate his soul pain over time until he finally regained his composure.

“I-I’m fine…” Quetzal muttered. “It was just… a lot of power… Oh?”

FLUOSH!

At that moment, one of his wings suddenly transformed into a giant mechanical wing.

It wasn’t heavy at all and was packed with energies.

“Oh?! That’s amazing!” Agua said.

“Yes, but one won’t cut it. Let’s go find the other one!” Quetzal nodded, grabbing Agua and flying away.
