Chapter 1749 1749: New Spirit
—–
Crack, crack…!
The Spirit Egg that Sylphy had gifted to Aquarina through her Divine Powers quickly gained many cracks as it absorbed Aquarina’s Mana, until whatever was inside finally hatched.
CRACK!
What everyone present saw at first were two small, fluffy paws, followed by tiny sharp claws in each paw, a small head, with big eyes, whiskers, pointy ears, and, overall, an adorable appearance.
“Meow… Maow…!”
“Oooh! There you are! Hello, little one!”
Aquarina smiled happily as she saw a new Spirit being born, one created by Sylphy as a Goddess, no less. And it was an adorable, fluffy kitten! With red and gold fur dividing its body into two halves of sun and thunderbolt elements.
The kitten had two small horns, a red and a golden one on each side of its body, and bright orange and golden eyes. Aquarina couldn’t believe it, the little cat looked incredibly cute, and tiny!
“Woah, it’s a kitten!” Aquarina said.
“Yeah, I didn’t expect that… If it was from Sylphy I imagined either a small dragon-like spirit or a plant…” Pyuku said. “Aren’t those her major powers?”
“Y-Yeah, but her Divinity seems to have been born not from that exactly, but from the Divinity Fragments she got from Apollo and Jupiter,” Aquarina explained. “Still, it’s pretty surprising that’s a cat… it’s so cute too!”
Aquarina had not expected a kitten at all as Sylphy’s created Spirit, one made from scratch at that, but it seemed that perhaps she had little power over what it could be, and its appearance might have been completely random.
“Mereow! Meow miauw!”
The little kitten was very vocal, immediately beginning to meow a lot, and very loudly. Aquarian gently grabbed him, only to get a small shock of electricity and burning her hands at the same time.
“O-Ouch! Aah! D-Don’t attack me!”
“Meow… Maraow…!”
The little kitten was clueless, it seemed he didn’t mean it and was confused about what had happened. As a newborn spirit, it was probably very unaware of its own abilities.
“T-This is Sylphy’s creation?!” Undine gasped, sensing the powerful Aura coming from the Spirit. “I-Incredible…! It is really a Dual-Element Spirit! L-Like Khepri…!”
“Yeah…” Pyuku nodded. “It’s amazing what she can do now… And she’s technically not even a Goddess yet, right?”
“At this point I couldn’t be able to tell for sure…” Undine said. “What she’s doing is very similar to the power of Gods- But then again, hasn’t she been doing things like that from the beginning? The System itself, the powers it gives, it’s already quite like the blessings of gods, helping a chosen hero grow stronger and gain more abilities.”
“I guess she has already been doing pretty crazy stuff from the beginning, huh?” Aquarina wondered. “Back then I was surprised, yeah, but I took everything for granted for the most part. But now that I look back and compare it to everything else I’ve seen so far, Sylphy’s powers are special even amongst special powers. It’s a bit… strange, was she born as a goddess from the get-go?”
“Born a goddess? That’s just not possible though…” Said Undine. “She’s the daughter of two heroes, perhaps their powers must have mixed in some way as she was born. Her brother is strong as well, and very talented, but compared to her he’s fairly regular.”
“Yeah…” Aquarina nodded. “I guess she doesn’t seem to have an idea herself, she has just told me that Alice was there since she was born, inside of her soul.”
“Someone born with a spirit inside their souls… I suppose it’s not the first time it has happened,” Undine said. “There’s a few races that are born this way, for example, the Fairies, children of Yggdrasil. Most of them were originally born from the tree’s fruits, did you know?”
“Woah, and Sylphy’s the granddaughter of one of them, right? Then I guess that must have been it, right?” Aquarina asked.
“Yes but even then, this doesn’t solve the mystery behind Alice’s powers, no spirit has ever had such strength. Even when comparing her to Khepri and the rest, they can’t even hold a candle against her. You could say Sylphy’s strange powers originate from Alice’s connection to her.” Undine said.
“Hmm…” Aquarina nodded. “Ah well, whatever! It’s not like it matters that much at the end, right? Don’t be so suspicious about Sylphy! We already know mostly everything we should know. I’m just happy my Sylphy is strong.”
“I-I guess so… I’m just curious, that’s all. I trust Sylphy, of course,” Undine nodded. “Sorry if it seemed like I thought she was suspicious or something… it wasn’t my intention.”
“Eh, it’s fine, don’t sweat it,” Aquarina nodded. “Now, um, how do we deal with this little kitten? He just burned and electrocuted me when I carried him!”
“Ah well, the contract must have already been established either way,” Undine said. “I can feel your connection. But this kitten is very special… aside from being a unique dual element spirit, their entire composition is… unique.”
“How so?” Aquarina wondered.
“The kitten’s composition isn’t just purely spirit energy, it seems to also be… Sylphy’s Soul Essence,” Undine analyzed the kitten, who was scratching the bed and nibbling on Leviathan’s tail.
“E-Eh?” Aquarina was left perplexed.
“It is as if this kitten… this spirit, is a spiritual embodiment of the divine blessing Sylphy gave to you, so it’s a special kind of spirit familiar,” explained Undine. “Unlike me, but similar to Leviathan… Sylphy’s powers allow her to turn souls into spirits below certain conditions, right? She must have done that with her own soul fragment, which she used as the basis of her divine blessing.”
“Really?!” Aquarina wondered. “And she didn’t even realize she did that?”
“Most likely not,” Undine said. “Based in what you said, I could assume she didn’t even feel pain because she didn’t cut the piece off her, the piece now is still loosely attached to her main soul, creating a bond between you much stronger than how gods usually bond with their heroes or saints.”
“Heheheh… That’s nice though!” Aquarina giggled, feeling happy. “I’ll be forever bonded to my Sylphy~!”
Undine glanced at Aquarina’s expression change from surprise to then a smile while blushing a little. She had to admit that her master sometimes acted a bit too perverted when it came to Sylph.
“Master, what is that face you’re making? Control yourself! I know you’re happy about this, but you’ve now become a Saintess for a new Goddess, these are big news!” Undine said.
“Eh, can’t we keep it a secret for now?” Aquarina asked, scratching her head.
“No, that’s not possible at all…” Undine sighed. “Perhaps Sylphy didn’t realize either, the consequences of such actions…”
