Chapter 1805: The Celestial Handshake
Chapter 1805: The Celestial Handshake
500 thousand suns was a massive volume of space, and yet, when one really thought about it, it wasn’t all that much.
The sun would have to expand to cover a third of the existing distance between it and the Earth in order to become 500 thousand times its size in volume. Compared to the size of Ning’s inner world, it was pitiful.
500 thousand suns’ worth of space was still dozens of millions of times smaller than the space inside of Ning’s inner world. It was, after all, the size of a heliosphere.
When Ning became aware of this, he was a little disappointed. He had hoped for his inner world to expand much more, but he would have to be okay with this too. It was a drop in the ocean, but the ocean was made up of many tiny drops. Should he continue gathering more drops, he would soon form an ocean.
And thankfully, he didn’t have a time limit. He was an Immortal, so he could take his entire life improving its size.
Ning finally addressed the Galactic Will that had been waiting for him to speak.
“If I were to help you, I want you to help add space into my inner world,” Ning said.
The Galactic Will remained motionless for a while before responding. “That shall be done. Do you have any other requirements?”
Ning wondered what else he should do.
<System: If you wish to make a deal with a Will, there is a Skill you may purchase that should help you>
Ning paused. ’What skill?’ he asked.
<System: It is a Skill created by one of the other Hosts. It is called [The Celestial Handshake]>
<System: It is a Skill that allows you to bind Celestial Wills by oaths that you can force them to speak. Should they go against their oaths or undo the binding, you will be notified of their actions>
<System: If they are in the same universe, you will immediately be teleported to them if you were to decide upon it>
Ning was taken aback for a moment. “My predecessors must have been through something similar. That is a fantastic skill. Purchase it.”
<System: The Skill costs 300 Million Energy, but each individual use will cost a varying higher amount of energy depending on the individual deals. Would you still like to purchase it?>
“Yes!” Ning said.
<System: Congratulations! You have purchased [The Celestial Handshake]>
“Can I use it right now? Or do I need to be close to him?” Ning asked.
<System: You may use it whenever or wherever you want. As long as the Will can agree to the deal, the Skill will activate>
Ning nodded and told Crownus what he wanted.
The deal was simple.
On Ning’s side, Ning would help Crownus by allowing him to perform research on his System so he may learn from it. Ning would also not kill Crownus, so long as Crownus did not go back on the deal.
On Crownus’s side, it would first return Ning’s family to his side. It would then never take another hostage against Ning again. For the research, it would never seek to harm Ning. It would also never make a System without consulting Ning for its purpose. And finally, it would help add space to Ning’s inner world after the first System was made.
Crownus took some time to go through Ning’s requests, seemingly attempting to see if he was asking for anything other than what he could provide.
“I’m a little concerned about adding space to your inner world. I have never done it, so I’m not sure if I can,” the being said.
“You can,” Ning said. If the System had said it can, then it could. “You will learn if you can’t do it right now. It should be simple.”
Crownus remained silent as it considered Ning’s words and spoke again. “After I’m done making the System, I might be drained of energy. I do not know how much space I could add to your inner world.”
Ning hadn’t thought about that, but surely the System had considered it. “I can wait for you to regain your energy,” he said. “That should be enough.”
The Galactic Will slowly nodded. “In that case, I accept your deal.”
<System: The Galactic Will ’Crownus’ has accepted your deal>
<System: Would you like to use [The Celestial Handshake] for 2.28 Octillion energy?>
Ning sucked in a deep breath. The cost of what he was attempting was far higher than what he had expected it to be. But, it was absolutely worth it.
“Yes,” Ning said. “Use it.”
He felt half the energy in his body fade away at once as the Celestial Handshake was performed.
“What… what did you do?” Crownus asked, seemingly surprised for the first time.
“Nothing serious,” Ning answered. “Just making sure you keep to your words. Nothing will happen should you keep it. But should you not, I will kill you.”
The Galactic Will stared at him with its eyeless face. “I will keep my words.”
Ning saw Ely and Emma flash right next to him. Ely was unaware of anything that had happened, but Emma had recognized that something was different.
Both turned toward the Galactic Will in surprise, quickly moving back.
“I have returned your family to you,” Crownus said. “Just as I said I would. Now, you must keep your word.”
Ning nodded. “I’ll come to you soon. It might take me a while though. The journey is long.”
“Fret not,” Crownus said. “I can wait. I will wait.”
Ning nodded. “You can leave now. And don’t stalk me.”
The Galactic Will giggled a little as it faded. Before it fully disappeared, however, it said one last thing.
“As a celebration of our partnership, here is a little gift from me.”
A man appeared before Ning, flopping down on the ground. He seemed bound by something, unable to move or do anything.
“Have fun.”
The Galactic Will fully disappeared.
Ning looked down at the man at his feet and found himself sighing. He thought he would have to fight this guy, but Crownus had instead brought the Constellation Plovaxis right to his feet instead.
