Chapter 1666: Reaper and Death

Chapter 1666: Reaper and Death

“A… Reaper?” Shara asked.

“A Reaper…” Ning said softly, finally getting to what he had been wanting to know for such a long time.

<Ding!>

<You have figured out what Shara is>

<You have gained 20 points>

The one quest he had been waiting to complete for such a long time had finally been completed.

“You damn old woman!” the Earl shouted at Usha. “After I’m done with these two, I will come for your head too.”

Ning wanted to leave right away, but he couldn’t let the Earl make such a threat toward the old woman and leave just like that. They would end up implicating the old woman, most likely causing her death.

He needed to fight him still.

Ning heard a bunch of horses stop by the road as the crowd moved to clear the commotion. Ning looked back and saw another carriage arrive, along with many more soldiers who were in

armor.

He couldn’t be sure if they were all corpses again or not. He didn’t have the luxury to care.

He had no time, so he pulled up his points shop to find the thing he needed to buy. There was the energy potion for 3 points, or he could go for the one with 18 points that gave more

energy.

Was it a wise choice to spend 18 of the 23 points he had at that moment? Probably not. Ning thought it wise to use the 3 points one instead.

‘3 points it is,’ he thought, moving to get the potion.

However, before he could do anything, the Earl moved immediately. Ning could barely react in time and put up a barrier with the last of his powers, using them all up at once.

The barrier he created was a singular one. It was all he could afford. Thankfully, he had created it at an angle, so instead of breaking through the barrier, the Earl ended up slamming on its side and sliding past to the side.

Ning and Shara turned around, with Ning preparing his Spear in front of him. Sёarch* The novel(F~)ire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

‘Dammit!’ he thought. The last of his energy was gone, and with that, his ability to create barriers was gone as well. Even if he consumed the potion now, he would get a new power. Nothing was going well today.

“Visand, you look almost as bad as your dad looked when he saw you for the first time,” a voice came from the newly arrived carriage. A female voice.

The Earl frowned, turning around. “Altunia, stay out of my conflict. I came here first. This glory here lies for me.”

The woman who spoke walked out from the carriage, carrying with a resplendent green bow. She stepped forward to the edge of the road before looking at the massive ice sculpture that rose in the sky.

“Interesting,” she said and looked back down. “You seem to be struggling while fighting kids. Is this all your glory is worth for you?”

The Earl grunted, saying nothing. He turned around and managed to barely notice Ning pull out something. He had no idea what he was looking at.

“What do you mean?” Shara asked, staring at the thing Ning had handed to her. He had just said something, but she hadn’t paid attention because all of her focus had been on the newly arrived woman.

“That scroll,” Ning said frantically. “Pull on the knot while targeting that man’s head.”

“What do you mean target?” Shara asked, confused. “How do I?”

“Just wish for it to work on that man while you untie the knot,” Ning said. “Quickly, we have no more time.”

The Earl noticed the moment. “Do not believe you two are going anywhere at all. You will die at my hands here today.”

His feet pushed on the ground, sending him propelling forward. He stepped midway, suddenly changing the direction to go to the side, and then pushed again to change it one last time.

He was now behind Ning and Shara, and although everything was a blur to him at this point, he was certain he had gotten the angle right.

That invisible wall that had stopped him earlier would certainly shatter in a single attack. He felt the force of the barrier and the rebound from the shattering.

The force stopped him and suddenly he felt something.

The Earl had come to a stop and when he looked down to see why he had stopped, he noticed that the tip of a spear had pierced right through his chestplate.

He could feel it stab him on the inside.

The shaft of the spear had seemingly split apart due to his force, but the tip had still stuck itself into his chest. He could feel the pain as well as a sense of coldness on his chest.

Was the wound shallow? He hadn’t died just yet. He could get through this too. He just needed to kill the two.

He raised his sword with a one-tracked mind and looked at the people he was swinging the sword toward. He saw the girl he had to kill no matter what and saw that she held a scroll.

She untied it and then it all went black.

Ning had planted the spear onto the ground to protect himself from the attack. He had no more energy, so he couldn’t create more barriers than the ones he already had.

There were 3 barriers still active, and one of them had been shattered when the Earl smashed through. He came down at the spear at an angle, and his speed had been so fast that the spear managed to pierce into his chest.

The shaft broke though, so the Earl wasn’t immediately dead.

However, it was at that exact moment that Shara untied the scroll and a massive ball of fire blossomed right in front of her. She had wished for the scroll to work on the man whose single

eye gave her horror.

And work it did.

The ball of fire flew directly into the man’s head and exploded into an explosion of fire and

blood.
