Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World
Chapter 968: In The Presence Of Supremes
After making his decision, Seth's mind updated the command to the entire Alphaverse.
At the same time, he made an effort to assist his father and race.
Meanwhile…
Outside the Alphaverse, something strange suddenly started happening after the Luthor Patriarch turned to the shimmering barrier of energy.
Zayna charged, her claws brandished, into the swarm of undead beetles, and the battle instantly turned apocalyptic.
Each Supreme Level Immortal was capable of unleashing powers that could crush a whole galaxy, what could be expected when Zayna went full combat mode on Marcus and the Grave Keepers?
The explosion that followed was simply magnificent. Multicolored energy was released as nuclear fusion was initiated on a grand and glorious scale.
All the arkships that had previously been so close to each other were blasted away by several light-years after Zayna punched the head of a particular undead beetle.
Marcus raised his massive black wings and shielded his face from the onslaught of violent energy that Zayna heralded.
By the time he opened his eyes again to look around, he saw that he was now far away, practically over a hundred light years away.
She wasn't even trying to punch him, but another entity had intervened; yet, the shockwave from that hit had warped space and time so badly that he broke physics simply by flying away.
Marcus immediately spread out his black smoky wings and shrieked out with righteous motivation. This wasn't his first time being in the presence of a battle-ready Supreme Level Immortal, and he knew it definitely wouldn't be his last as long as he did the right thing.
He looked around and saw that he wasn't the only one. Checking the private telepathic channel and the System Chat, he saw that only about a dozen Grave Keepers had died from that shockwave.
All of them had been blasted away, obviously, if even Marcus couldn't stop himself, many of them also couldn't. They would have died if they stubbornly resisted the power and stood still.
Compared to an elite army of ten thousand plus, losing twelve members was not serious, but it also wasn't trivial.
Thankfully, the whole purpose of the Grave Keepers was to manipulate the power of death and serve as an extension for the Primordial Vulture
Their main style of combat absolutely did not require them to be on the front lines and receive attacks directly, there was no need for that.
So, this whole idea of them suddenly rushing out and fighting face to face with their enemies was just to throw them off guard.
This was the first time the Grave Keepers would be performing openly, the world was not prepared and they couldn't afford to let them get prepared.
At the same time, Zayna had completely neutralized several hundred immortal-level undead beetles with that single attack and she noticed that she didn't kill as many as she had actually thought.
All that energy expended, for a few hundred?
She frowned. Her white eyebrows furrowed in contrast to her smooth black skin. Her golden eyes shifted and she instantly spotted the grey-headed, black-winged bird. The leader, Marcus.
Amidst the rubble and scattering dust, amidst the flying arkships and their panicked pilots, with the shimmering white barrier behind her, Zayna leaned forward and dashed straight toward Marcus with overwhelming killing intent.
Her right hand was stretched to her side and her palm was flattened. Tiny grains of sand flew out of her shoulder, coalescing around her hand and forming a sand blade.
The tip of the sand blade flashed with a godly killing light, matching the golden gleam of Zayna's eyes. At this moment, she looked valiant and glorious.
Nothing seemed capable of standing in her way.
Marcus blinked, and then Zayna was right in front of his head, already swinging her arm blade to cleave his head off his shoulders.
However, the Death Portal was still very much active behind Marcus. The edges of the portal flashed and the interior of the Grave Heaven could still be seen, as well as the sea of tombstones.
The Carrion Beetles had been a cosmic-level civilization, the kind that had a lot of powerful entities. And yet, they fell.
*BOOM!*
Zayna was violently flung away by something that rushed out of the portal. It had moved so fast and so strongly that Zayna actually flew back for a few light years before she could control herself.
All the little barren planets around them were turned to dust as a shocking gravitational wave passed through them.
Zayna waved her hands and righted herself before she could move far. She looked at her head, frowning with a little bit of shock in her eyes.
She raised her left hand and touched the area of skin underneath her nose and above her lips. There, she felt some liquid, sticky and familiar.
She raised the finger up to her eyes and saw a red substance floating around her nails. Because she herself was generating enough gravity just by existing with her power, this liquid fell toward her finger and stuck there easily.
It was her blood.
Her own blood
When last did she bleed? It wasn't long actually. The last time Azeus invaded their territory in Original Heaven, she had been one of those beaten to a stupor where she bled a lot.
But that meant that the only kind of person that should be able to make her bleed right now should technically also be a Supreme Level Immortal.
It couldn't possibly be…
Oh, but it was.
Zayna looked back at Marcus with genuine shock this time. And then, she looked at the being floating beside him.
A humongous beetle even bigger than Marcus, at least ten times his size. Four decaying insect wings lined the sides of the beastly insect and two ghostly blue compound eyes rested in its head, focused aimlessly on Zayna.
Based on the aura being emitted from the body of this Carrion Beetle, it was a Supreme Level Immortal, at least, it was that powerful when it was alive.
Embedded on the back carapace of its head was a deep claw mark with some residual demonic energy still lingering around.
