Reincarnated as a damn planet
Chapter 139: Calean vs Olium
HUNDREDS OF YEARS AGO.
"Calean!! You can’t just let them massacre my people!" Olium’s palm slammed against the round table, the impact echoing throughout the chamber as his expression burned with anger.
"We are already on the brink of a world war, and yet you allowed them to go and kill my people!" He stared directly at Calean, waiting for an explanation.
Calean remained seated, his scaly arms crossed over his chest as he looked at Olium with an almost completely indifferent expression. "What they do is not my problem. We have stayed hidden most of the time, and when we finally decide to come out, you don’t allow us?"
Olium gritted his teeth, his hands tightening at his sides. "You insect bastard."
Calean’s expression barely changed, though one of his eyes twitched slightly. "Olium... you damn well know I don’t like it when people point out the difference between us."
"Oh, yeah?" Olium leaned forward slightly, a grin slowly appearing across his face. "Insect bastard?"
Calean’s eye twitched again, but before the two could continue, Trias finally rose from her chair. "Hey, cut it out! We have a lot of things to do, so if you two hate each other so much, then go fight outside."
The room immediately fell silent, with everyone around the table turning their attention toward the two pantheons. Calean slowly looked toward Trias before muttering beneath his breath, "This long-eared human..."
Trias’s eyebrow twitched. "Did you just call me..."
Neither of them bothered finishing the sentence.
Minutes later, the two were already standing outside. The ancient courtyard stretched before them, surrounded by enormous trees and stone pillars that had stood there for centuries, while the moment Calean and Olium stepped into the open space, the atmosphere became completely different.
Their eyes locked.
Olium moved first, sweeping his hand through the air as thousands of spears suddenly materialized behind him. Each one glowed with magical energy, hovering in complete silence for a brief moment before shooting toward Calean all at once.
The sky was instantly filled with weapons.
Calean disappeared.
The spears tore through the location where he had been standing, piercing trees, stone, and the ground itself. Yet every time one came close to him, his body shifted by the smallest amount, his movements so precise that the weapons passed beside him without touching a single scale.
"Still relying on speed?" Olium watched him calmly, his eyes following Calean’s movements.
Calean suddenly appeared several meters away, his feet touching the ground without making a sound. "You know me too well."
Olium smiled. "Then let’s see how long that lasts."
His magical energy suddenly changed.
The thousands of spears vanished, leaving the battlefield strangely silent for a brief moment. Then the air around Calean began to distort.
Several brilliant white spheres appeared around him.
They were not stationary.
The moment Calean moved, they moved with him. More appeared one after another until hundreds of spears and swords emerged from different directions, surrounding Calean from above, below, and every angle in between.
Calean accelerated.
His body became nothing more than a blur.
The swords missed, the spears missed and the white spheres soon followed.
Calean’s expression slowly changed as he realized that the attacks were adjusting to his movements. One of the spheres suddenly accelerated toward him, and although he twisted his body at the last moment, it still managed to strike his side.
BOOM!
There was no flame.
Instead, an enormous burst of compressed force erupted from the point of impact, throwing Calean several meters through the air. His claws dug into the ground as he slid backward, leaving several deep grooves beneath his feet.
He slowly straightened himself, several cracks appearing across his scales as he looked toward Olium. Olium simply raised his hand and calmly said, "Speed is not enough."
Calean stared at him.
For several seconds, he remained completely silent. Then his eyes began glowing red.
The air around Calean suddenly became heavy as something began emerging from his back. Two enormous wings slowly unfolded behind him, transforming his silhouette into something far more monstrous than before, while his claws tightened and the ground beneath his feet cracked from the pressure of his presence alone.
Olium narrowed his eyes. "A new transformation?"
He barely finished the sentence.
Calean disappeared.
Olium’s pupils contracted as Calean appeared directly beside him. A fist slammed into his stomach with enough force to send him flying through the air.
BOOM!
Olium’s body crashed through several trees before he could regain his balance. Yet before he could even react, Calean was already there.
Another punch struck him.
Then another, then another one followed.
Each blow sent a shockwave through the forest, forcing the surrounding trees to bend violently beneath the pressure. Olium attempted to counterattack, but every movement was interrupted before he could complete it, Calean’s speed allowing him to strike from different directions before Olium could properly respond.
"He’s gotten faster..." Olium gritted his teeth as he blocked another strike, but the impact still sent him sliding backward.
He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.
Then he smiled. "Fine."
His expression suddenly became serious.
"Then I’ll use this."
A familiar presence emerged beside him. It was Aurevene.
The moment the two forces merged, an enormous surge of blue energy erupted around Olium. The magical pressure spread across the battlefield, shaking the surrounding trees and causing the ground beneath him to crack.
Calean stopped.
Olium raised his hand. Blue light engulfed his entire body as thousands of swords and spears appeared around him. They did not scatter across the battlefield this time, instead surrounding Calean layer after layer until his entire body disappeared beneath the countless weapons.
Olium slowly lowered his hand.
"Let’s see you dodge this."
Every weapon moved at once.
Thousands of swords and spears pierced forward, converging on Calean from every direction and filling the air with countless flashes of blue and silver. For a moment, there was nothing but the sound of destruction.
Then everything stopped. The weapons had passed through.
Calean stood in the center.
Blood dripped from his body as his wings hung slightly lower than before, countless wounds covering his scales. Olium stared at him from a distance, his breathing slightly heavier than before.
Calean stared back.
Neither moved.
Then the ground shook. A massive figure suddenly jumped between them.
Odir descended from above, his enormous body crashing into the ground with enough force to create a crater. Dust erupted around him as his dual axes were already raised in his hands.
He swung both weapons forward.
The blades sliced through the remaining magical energy, dispersing it across the battlefield. Odir then planted both axes against the ground and looked directly at the two pantheons.
"That is enough." His voice echoed through the forest.
Odir looked directly at Olium. "You won."
