Redemption of a Born Demon
Chapter 612: Annihilation of the Celestial Demon, Yi Beidou’s Solitary Path
Chapter 612 -378: Annihilation of the Celestial Demon, Yi Beidou’s Solitary Path
“The first Root Source… he never fused with any Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood?! Yet he could kill four Root Sources in one go? And that Yi Beidou is the same!”
“Maybe our path was wrong all along. Only by keeping our bodies pure do we have a chance to glimpse that supreme realm.”
“Were we wrong? Were our millennia of cultivation and our quest for eternal life all just a joke?”
“…”
The battle hadn’t even begun, but merely glimpsing Innate’s true form sent many of the Ancient Ones into trembling fits. They couldn’t control their Life Magnetic Fields, and their Daoxins were shattering.
If it were just Yi Beidou, he could be dismissed as an exception. But the fact that Innate had also maintained a purely mortal body thoroughly proved their mistake.
“No! Impossible!”
An Ancient One who had fused with Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood clutched his head in agony. The spiritual and magnetic imbalance from his shattered Daoxin caused the fused Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood to run rampant. A blinding light erupted from within him as his physical body dissolved and disintegrated.
In the end, all that remained on the ground was a jade-like mass of Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood.
In the past, the Ancient Ones would have gone to incredible lengths to acquire such Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood, but now, no one even moved to claim it.
Because their conviction was shaken.
This was not just a battle between past and present; it was a battle for the one true Righteous Dharma.
“Hurry! Get all the equipment assembled and run the final tests!”
Tao Zihong led a team of researchers, urgently assembling various devices to fully record the footage and data from this battle.
This was not only vital research material but could also very well become a crucial historical record, passed down for millennia.
Zhou Qingchen, Ding Huiyuan, Huang Tianhu, Meng Qianyuan, Zhou Baiwei, Yang Mutong…
Among the Donghua Martial Artists, everyone who was not occupied with urgent duties had arrived.
The five leaders of the God-Sealing Alliance and numerous Celestial Generals had also gathered, their gazes fixed on Innate with complex emotions.
Also present were Beretta’s avatar, as well as Yu Xuzi and Li Xiu Niang, who had rushed over after successfully removing the Free Demonic Flame Seven Stars…
Everyone was waiting quietly.
Just then, a jade-like brilliance flashed in the distant sky. A figure, treading upon an Immortal Talisman, tore through the air toward them.
No one saw when he appeared; he arrived without a sound.
After a few flickers, the figure arrived in the Blue Mountain Range, landing beside the one who sat cross-legged on the peak.
“You’ve come.”
Innate opened his eyes and slowly rose to his feet. He stood facing Yi Beidou, a smile as sincere as a child’s spreading across his face as he looked at the young man before him.
“I’ve come.”
Yi Beidou met his gaze calmly.
“You don’t mind that I’ve gathered so many ‘spectators,’ do you?”
Innate’s gaze swept across the area. To him, each of the seemingly inconspicuous figures shone like a beacon in the dark.
Before Yi Beidou could reply, Innate continued, his voice tinged with reminiscence. “From the moment of my birth, I possessed power far beyond that of ordinary men. My mother died giving me life. I could walk as soon as I was born, and I learned to speak and understand with incredible speed. The people of my tribe saw me as a god.”
“At the age of ten, I could stop a charging bull with my bare hands. By sixteen, lions, tigers, and even giant elephants were no longer my match. I had become the strongest being on earth.”
“When I came of age at eighteen, my body underwent a natural, revolutionary transformation. After that, scarcely anything in that era could harm me. I could decide the life or death of any creature in the world with a single glance.”
“My tribe grew powerful because of me, yet I felt a profound loneliness. I had drifted too far from humanity. All the life around me seemed like ants. They revered me, feared me, but none of it held any meaning. I gradually lost my way and began to question the purpose of my existence.”
Innate’s voice grew distant as his gaze swept over the mountains and the earth. “Until one day, I stood atop a high mountain and looked out at the world. I saw the clouds churn, the rivers run, and the trees grow. I saw a tigress bounding playfully with her cubs, and an eagle teaching its fledgling how to fly…”
‘I thought to myself, everything has a purpose for its existence. Perhaps nature created me to lead humanity forward. Or perhaps, my purpose was to teach another being to become my equal, someone I could finally converse with.’
“And so, I found a sense of purpose. I began using myself as a template, trying to create a path for ordinary humans to reach my level, step by step.”
“Every era had its share of geniuses. Under my careful tutelage, after two decades, several individuals managed to reach the level of power I possessed when I came of age—what you now call the Saint Realm. Although they were far from strong enough to challenge me, I finally had ‘partners’ with whom I could converse on a somewhat equal footing.”
“I was happy during those times. We lived together, exploring this unknown world. Then, one day, we discovered ancient Earth Immortal Ruins. There, I witnessed the power of an incomplete Earth Immortal’s corpse and learned of the Earth Immortal civilization, as well as the mystical Sealing God Lineage that had been passed down through the ages.”
“It was only then that I realized there were stronger beings in the world, higher realms to be attained. That higher realm became my life’s goal. Perhaps my very purpose in being born was to challenge a state of existence humanity had never before reached.”
“Unfortunately, even after I cultivated to my absolute peak and could suppress all things with my Innate Golden Dew—even the incarnation of a Celestial Monarch was no match for me—I still could not glimpse that new realm. Once again, I felt that profound loneliness.”
“In that era, no one could keep pace with me. I taught them with all my heart, but human civilization was still too nascent. For them, even reaching the Saint Realm was an incredible feat.”
“I needed a rival. As my life ticked away, I realized I would likely never find my true equal in that era. So, I began to study Earth Immortal Flesh and Blood, hoping to find a method to achieve longevity.”
“Ultimately, I succeeded. I created the Original Vein. But my goal was never to wait for the opening of the Earth Immortal Realm. It was simply to wait, across the long river of human history, for someone who could finally stand on the same level as me.”
“Ten thousand years of waiting, and I have finally met you. Perhaps this is your destiny as well.”
“Under the watchful eyes of the world, amidst the surging tides of this new era, you and I will show all of humanity the path forward! This is the ultimate romance!”
As he finished speaking, a wild, uninhibited smile spread across Innate’s face. He threw his arms wide, and a surging torrent of Innate Golden Dew erupted from his body.
“Are you finished? Then let’s begin. I’m not one for speeches. I just hope you’re worthy of being my opponent.”
Yi Beidou’s expression remained calm and impassive.
In his eyes, there was only the opponent before him, only the goal in his heart.
FWOOM!!
A Black Flame insignia appeared between Yi Beidou’s brows. A raging torrent of Black Flame surged forth to meet the erupting Innate Golden Dew, pushing back against it.
“Hahahaha! What a dull fellow. Just indulge this lonely old man who has slumbered for millennia. I had a pressing need to speak my mind.”
“Our every move is far too destructive; we’ll inevitably ruin this picturesque scenery. Let’s take this fight to the Sky!”
Innate laughed heartily and stomped his foot, his body shooting toward the Sky. Beneath him, an incredibly complex Immortal Talisman materialized, propelling him upward with a second burst of force.
An Immortal Talisman!
This exceedingly stable and complete structure of Immortal Power was proof that Innate had also mastered the use of the Immortal Talisman!
He hailed from the earliest era of humanity, after the Earth Immortals had vanished. With his power back then, it would have been no trouble to acquire vast amounts of secret knowledge—perhaps even more ancient intelligence than most Secret Organizations possessed.
And with his terrifying talent, mastering the Immortal Talisman was only a matter of course.
A sharp glint flashed in Yi Beidou’s eyes. He stomped his foot, likewise forming an Immortal Talisman, and pursued him high into the sky.
The two figures, one black and one gold, twisted around each other in the sight of all below.
Higher and higher they climbed!
