Chapter 2784 - 68: No Talking, No Moving

  • Next Chapter

Listening to Pig Dali talk about ideals is a rather strange experience.

Especially for Jiang Wang.

The so-called "Under the Blood Moon, in the name of Peace. Walking in the dark, looking up to the dawn."

The so-called "Peace cannot be enjoyed forever, demons often face desperate paths."

These are just some ideas he came up with on the spur of the moment.

The whole concept was pieced together from bits and pieces of various organizations’ structures. It’s really not something sincere.

To make the non-existent organization "Taiping Dao" convincing indeed took some brainwork. But ultimately, it’s all self-justification centering around the words "Peace."

Those so-called great ideals.

He himself didn’t believe in them.

But Pig Dali did.

Pig Dali believed that there truly existed an organization called Taiping Dao, believed there was a great existence known as "Taiping Taoist," believed in ideals like "world peace."

This bully mixing in the Fruit and Flower Club, not a good guy. He hasn’t done any terribly evil things, but he often behaves obnoxiously in the streets.

Since coming in contact with Taiping Dao, receiving the Taiping Divine Wind Seal, adopting the ideologies casually described by Jiang Wang, he seemed to have acquired a genuine feeling as if he found the meaning of a demon’s life... From then on, a complete transformation.

Boasting self-assuredly is a latent desire, once Chai Asi achieved prominence, he couldn’t wait to show off to the public. He is always surrounded by followers in the Fruit and Flower Club and takes the spotlight at martial arts competitions.

Similarly, Pig Dali, who had a sudden stroke of luck, continued to endure solitude. Still working a dull job in that shabby old tavern, idly watching tipsy patrons come and go.

Only when the Long Night fell, did he put on night clothes and carry twin straight blades, transforming into the Peaceful Ghost Messenger, vanquishing Evil Gods, restoring peace.

He truly believed he was practicing a grand undertaking.

When he describes his ideals, there’s genuinely a shine in his otherwise ordinary eyes.

Such words as "world peace," if spoken in the Old Ape Tavern, would definitely cause an uproarious laugh.

If shouted aloud on the streets of Mo Yun City, everyone would think he’s a fool.

But She Guyu did not laugh.

Neither did the mirror-image Jiang Wang.

...

...

Xiong Sansi, the subject of discussion among several Heavenly Demons and almost all competitors’ focus, was currently walking slowly along the shaded path in the Land of Shenxiao. His gaze was vigilant, his aura solemn. In his hand was a narrow blade, concealing its edge.

Together with Yu Xin, he had the most, longest preparation for the Land of Shenxiao, and seemingly received the most, fiercest "care."

They were the first to find the secret chamber of Shenxiao, yet they were not ahead of any competitors. They randomly chose a shaded path, but along the way, danger was constant, every step startling.

Like a group of hunters burdened with enormous baggage, supposed to carry out their hunt step by step. But finally, in the distant journey across mountains and waters, they gradually exhausted their hunting gear.

"Rest a bit, rest for a while!" Yu Xin waved his hand, panting: "As long as we don’t move forward, there won’t be any danger, let me rest for a while!"

The luxurious martial arts uniform was already in tatters, usually neat hair was now a scattered mess.

The Land of Shenxiao is truly not accessible to ordinary demons, had they not done much preparation beforehand, had Xiong Sansi not repeatedly offered help... he’d already be unsure how many times he would have died.

If every path is so difficult, it’s really hard to imagine, of the six groups entering this dense forest, how many can eventually pass through.

Xiong Sansi slowly glanced at Yu Xin, seeing him indeed gasping heavily, so he stopped too.

But just the moment he halted.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

The visitor’s static state seemed to trigger some mechanism. Dozens of vines sprang from the forest, as fast as lightning, broken the darkness, instantly binding Yu Xin into a ball.

A sudden explosion of air waves outside Xiong Sansi, ripples spreading in circles like a giant stone hitting water, causing huge ripples. And in these gradually solidifying ripples, a brilliant blade light flashed, like a white dragon penetrating the moon, within a split second it soared in the forest—

Slap! Slap!

Astonishingly brilliant blade light!

Hundreds of vines chopped into pieces, heavily crashing to the ground, made clear sounds. The remains wriggled, struggling like living things, even bleeding out.

The air was filled with a gradually chilling coldness, the ground turned increasingly crimson. That red spreading on fallen leaves, turning yellow leaves into red. Rustling sounds from the depths of the old forest, as if shadows approaching, the terrifying atmosphere began to condense.

As for liberated Yu Xin, his entire face was already a pallid hue.

Just within that brief moment earlier, half of the blood in his body had been drained. If Xiong Sansi had been any slower, he would possibly become a dried corpse!

"Seems we can’t stop even for a step." Xiong Sansi said in a muffled voice, cautiously testing the hostile intentions of this shaded path with small movements.

Yu Xin snapped back to consciousness, taking several deep breaths.

No longer dared to relax, the Path Origin inside him surged, silver-white wings spread behind him... silver feathers like daggers, pointing obliquely to the sky, he had already revealed his Demon Mark.

The biggest difference between demons and humans lies in the Demon Mark. However, not all demon marks grow in visible locations, nor all demons willing to show their marks.

But differentiating demons from the Human Race has never been an issue. Because those with demon marks possess demon aura, which fundamentally differs from human aura.

The Demon Mark is the demon clan’s crown, and more so their scepter. It is the innate Dharma Seal, and also where Divine Skills manifest.

Typically, the potential of a demon clan can be perceived from its Demon Mark.
