Chapter 2836: Chapter 2836: You Actually Seem To Be Terrified Of These Evil Cultivators
"Seven." Master Liang finally blurted out.
Long Hui’s eyes turned sharp as daggers. "Names. Right now."
Master Liang immediately surrendered the seven names without hesitation.
Long Hui memorised every single name word for word. He did not say another word aloud, but his hands slowly tightened into white-knuckled fists at his side.
Yu Qi noticed his reaction and gently reached over to pat his hand.
"Brother Hui, don’t worry. Once we clear out of this place, you can handle them personally." Yu Qi said.
"Mhm." Long Hui nodded, his jaw set firm.
"Are you two planning to head straight to Manhe Island?" Qin Xia asked, looking between the two of them.
"Of course." Yu Qi nodded firmly. She glanced back down at the phone screen. "Wong Fu Siang is currently our only direct lead to these evil cultivators. Since Master Liang confirmed that he usually resides on Manhe Island, we should head over there immediately to investigate."
"Do you know his exact location on the island?" Long Hui asked, turning back to Master Liang.
Master Liang blurted out the answer automatically under the elixir’s influence.
"Near the eastern shore of the island. He owns a private luxury villa there." Master Liang then went on to recite the precise street address.
Yu Qi committed the address to memory. "Does he live alone?"
"No. There are several people residing with him in the villa." Master Liang answered.
"Are they his family members?" Yu Qi asked.
"No... I don’t believe so. I am fairly certain they are his trusted subordinates." Master Liang clarified.
"How many are we talking about?" Long Hui pressed on.
"Around twenty, as far as I can recall." Master Liang replied.
"Let’s operate under the assumption that every single one of them is an evil cultivator." Long Hui stated calmly.
"Mhm, agreed." Yu Qi nodded.
Yu Qi continued to scroll through the retrieved chat logs. There were several messages explicitly referencing Manhe Island. Some discussed resource deliveries, others detailed human cargo shipments, and a few mentioned spiritual energy supplies. Suddenly, one specific message caught Yu Qi’s eye, and her thumb froze on the glass screen.
"Brother Hui... Senior Brother Xia..." Yu Qi called out softly.
"What is it?" Long Hui instantly leaned in close.
"Look at this exchange." Yu Qi angled the phone toward both men.
Long Hui and Qin Xia lowered their gazes to read the text. The moment they digested the contents, their expressions shifted dramatically.
"Tomorrow." Long Hui noted sharply.
"Yes, tomorrow." Yu Qi agreed with a nod.
The initial thread had been sent three months ago, but a follow-up transmission had arrived just a few days prior. It was chillingly concise:
The next batch will arrive at Manhe Island in seven days.
"Today is the sixth day since that message was dispatched." Long Hui observed after checking the date stamp.
"Which means... the shipment arrives tomorrow." Yu Qi stated coldly. She turned her gaze to Master Liang. "Do you happen to know what they mean by ’the next batch’? What exactly are they transporting tomorrow?"
"I don’t know!" Master Liang shook his head frantically.
Yu Qi kept her piercing gaze locked on his face for several tense seconds.
"I truly don’t know! I was not involved in organising that specific transaction!" Master Liang stammered out.
Since the truth elixir prevented him from lying, Yu Qi knew he was telling the truth.
A bright, sudden smile broke across Yu Qi’s face. "Fine."
"Fine?" Master Liang was visibly startled by her unexpected smile.
"Yes. We will simply find out for ourselves once we get there." Yu Qi replied casually.
"Wait... You are actually planning to go there?!" Master Liang gasped, a sudden wave of dread washing over him.
"Of course we are." Yu Qi nodded as if it were the most obvious choice in the world.
"Don’t go! Are you insane?!" Master Liang blurted out the warning without even thinking.
Everyone in the room turned to look at him in surprise.
Master Liang froze, immediately realising how absurd he sounded trying to warn his captors.
"And why shouldn’t we go?" Yu Qi raised a delicate eyebrow.
"You will be slaughtered!" Master Liang declared earnestly.
He genuinely could not comprehend why these people were so eager to march straight into a wolf’s den.
"How fascinating." Yu Qi chuckled softly. "You actually seem to be terrified of these evil cultivators."
"Those monsters are completely different from any ordinary cultivators you have ever crossed paths with! Evil cultivators are utterly ruthless and dangerous! Even back in the cultivation world, they are the kind of menaces that everyone actively avoids!" Master Liang insisted frantically.
"Is that little speech supposed to scare us?" Qin Xia snorted in pure disdain.
"You are the supreme Ancestor! Naturally, you have no reason to fear them!" Master Liang retorted before turning his panicked gaze toward Yu Qi and Long Hui. "But even if those two are remarkably strong for their age, there is a massive nest of evil cultivators gathered on Manhe Island!"
"How many are we talking about?" Yu Qi asked smoothly.
"I don’t know the exact count!" Master Liang admitted.
"You just stated there were around twenty people residing with Wong Fu Siang." Yu Qi pointed out the fact.
"Those twenty are merely the ones I personally know about!" Master Liang countered anxiously. "I know for a fact that Manhe Island is nowhere near as peaceful as its tourist reputation suggests!"
Yu Qi exchanged a silent glance with Long Hui. Long Hui met her eyes with a quiet, knowing look. Neither of them needed to utter a single word to know what the other was thinking. Their decision remained entirely unchanged. They were going to Manhe Island.
