Chapter 2808: Knew The Voice
Chapter 2808: Chapter 2808: Knew The Voice
After a brief pause, Xiaohua closed her eyes to focus before shaking her head. "I don’t know for sure... but it does not feel like it wants to harm or hurt us."
"Mhm, that’s right. It does not feel malicious at all." Xiaoliu agreed with Xiaohua’s assessment.
"Then what kind of emotion is it projecting?" Yu Qi asked gently.
"It feels extremely lonely." Xiaohua opened her eyes, looking up with a sorrowful expression.
"Lonely?" Yu Qi was genuinely surprised and confused by the description.
"Very, very lonely." Xiaohua nodded slowly.
Those simple words made Yu Qi’s heart tighten with a subtle pang of unease. She looked at the massive steel door once more. If something had truly been locked away and sealed behind this door for years, decades, or perhaps even centuries, what exactly had MicroTech unearthed? And why did it share such a profound resonance with Xiaohua and Xiaoliu that it actively called out to their spirits?
"Don’t overthink it or rush into danger." Long Hui said softly, placing a reassuring hand on Yu Qi’s shoulder.
"I know." Yu Qi nodded, drawing in a deep, steadying breath before examining the circular formation alongside him. "Neko-chan, can you override the electronic control systems connected to this door from your end?"
"I wish I could, Master, but there is virtually no electronic mechanism tied to the locking latch itself." Neko-chan replied regretfully.
"But there is an electronic panel right beside the frame." Yu Qi pointed toward the digital device mounted on the wall.
"The panel is only a basic sensor. The door’s lock is almost entirely independent. The facility’s main computer network can monitor its status, but it lacks the interface to actually trigger or control the mechanism." Neko-chan explained.
"Which means this barrier can only be unlocked through the formation itself." Long Hui concluded.
"In all likelihood, yes." Neko-chan agreed.
"Don’t worry, I am working on deciphering the sequence right now." Long Hui offered a confident smile, attempting to ease the tension in Yu Qi’s posture.
Long Hui stepped closer to the circular symbol, stopping just short of making physical contact. He activated his specialised vision, meticulously analysing every single line, curve, and junction of the array. The spiritual energy was cycling clockwise around the outer ring before slowly channelling inward toward the core. However, as he traced the pathways, he noticed a startling anomaly. One key section of the formation pattern was completely missing.
"Qi Qi, come take a close look at this section." Long Hui called out softly.
Yu Qi immediately stepped up beside him and focused on the area he indicated.
"There is an intentional gap in the array here." Yu Qi noted in surprise.
"Yeah." Long Hui nodded grimly. "This formation is technically incomplete."
"Then how is it still holding such a dense amount of active spiritual energy?" Yu Qi frowned, perplexed.
"It truly is a mystery." Long Hui sighed, contemplating the complex mechanics.
"Master!" Suddenly, Xiaohua let out a sharp gasp, her eyes widening in realization.
"What’s wrong, Xiaohua?" Yu Qi turned around instantly to check on her.
"The calling..." Xiaohua pointed a trembling hand directly toward the circular symbol on the door. "It is coming directly from the center of the formation now!"
At that exact moment, the engraved formation suddenly began to flicker rhythmically. A faint, radiant golden light emerged from deep within the metallic grooves of the symbol.
Everyone instantly dropped into a combat stance, their guards raised high. Long Hui immediately shifted his footing to stand directly in front of Yu Qi, shielding her with his body.
The golden light slowly expanded, spreading across the entire circular symbol like liquid fire. A distinct, metallic sound echoed crisply through the quiet corridor.
Click.
Everyone froze in absolute silence, holding their breath.
Click.
Click.
The massive steel door began to vibrate violently, sending low hums through the floorboards.
Yu Qi swiftly reached back, grabbed Xiaohua and Xiaoliu, and pulled them firmly behind her. Long Hui quietly gathered his spiritual energy into his palms, fully prepared to react to whatever potential threat emerged from the opening threshold.
"Master..." Xiaohua whispered nervously, her little hands clutching Yu Qi’s outfit.
"I am right here with you. Stay close." Yu Qi reassured her in a low, firm tone.
The circular formation suddenly burst into an even brighter, dazzling brilliance. Then, an ancient, faint voice trickled out from the small seam of the shifting door. It was extremely faint, almost like an airy whisper floating through the air, but Yu Qi heard every single syllable with crystal clarity.
"Finally... you have returned to me..." The raspy voice echoed hollowly through the cold corridor.
"Master..." Xiaohua’s face turned completely pale, her breath catching in her throat.
Yu Qi looked down at her in alarm. "Xiaohua?"
"I... I recognise that voice." Xiaohua trembled from head to toe.
"You have heard it before? Where?" Yu Qi asked, her pulse spiking.
"I heard it a very long time ago... inside the Miracle Space." Xiaohua revealed softly.
"The Miracle Space?" Yu Qi turned her head sharply to look at Long Hui.
The Miracle Space had been created by Long Hui back during his past life as Xie Likui.
Miracle Space was Long Hui’s creation when he was Xie Likui.
"It is entirely possible." Long Hui’s expression became exceedingly dark and solemn. "Even though the space originally belonged to me, it remained in the cultivation world for centuries and was frequently utilized as a trial ground by powerful cultivators. That Master Liang likely gained entry to the Miracle Space at some point in the past and managed to extract whatever entity is trapped inside here."
"Are you suggesting that whatever is sealed behind this door was originally an entity living inside the Miracle Space?" Yu Qi’s eyes widened in realization.
