Chapter 2807: Chapter 2807: Highest Clearance Level

"Mhm..." Xiaohua and Xiaoliu obediently nodded, holding onto her tightly.

Long Hui stepped forward, examining the strange circular symbol deeply engraved on the steel door.

"Whatever is behind this door might be directly related to Xiaohua and Xiaoliu’s origins." Long Hui stated thoughtfully.

They had never encountered creatures like Xiaohua and Xiaoliu anywhere else, not even within the vast realm of the cultivation world. Tree monsters were extraordinarily rare beings, and almost no one truly understood how they were born or where they originally came from.

"Or..." Yu Qi narrowed her eyes, piecing the clues together. "It might be related to that branch Xiaohua left behind thousands of years ago."

"You mean the specimen upstairs?" Xiaohua blinked her wide eyes in surprise.

"Possibly." Yu Qi nodded. "Someone might have discovered your discarded branch ages ago. Instead of simply studying it as a plant, they might have harvested it to use as a primary source for their complex experiments."

"If that is true, this entire facility might be much older and deeper than we initially assumed." Long Hui’s expression darkened as he contemplated the timeline.

Yu Qi did not answer immediately. Instead, she focused her gaze on the steel door once more. The circular symbol appeared ordinary at first glance, but after activating her special eyesight, she could clearly perceive countless vibrant strands of spiritual energy flowing steadily through the intricate engravings. The energy was slowly circulating around the outer ring, continuously cycling through the complicated geometric patterns.

"Brother Hui, look carefully. This formation is still actively functioning." Yu Qi murmured.

Long Hui stepped closer to observe. Indeed, with his heightened senses, he could see the flowing energy as well.

"It also seems to be exceptionally powerful." Long Hui frowned, analyzing the flow. "It is not merely reinforcing the door itself. It is actively concealing whatever is trapped inside."

Yu Qi immediately understood the underlying danger. "In that case, trying to force the door open by strength might trigger a destructive rebound or alert the entire facility."

"Exactly." Long Hui nodded in agreement. "Allow me to study the mechanics of this formation first."

"Hmm... Take your time. You have a solid grasp on array formations from your past experience." Yu Qi nodded encouragingly, remaining patient. She then turned her attention back to her smartphone to consult her virtual assistant. "Neko-chan, can you check the records to see who created this specific formation?"

"I am trying, Master." Neko-chan’s tiny paws moved at lightning speed across her digital keyboard on the screen. "However, there are absolutely no records regarding the formation itself in the local servers. The database only contains standard architectural logs about the door."

"Then find everything you can related to Project Origin." Yu Qi instructed firmly.

"Yes, Master!" Neko-chan nodded energetically. A few tense seconds passed in quiet anticipation before Neko-chan’s digital expression suddenly transformed into one of complete surprise. "Master, I managed to crack open an encrypted log about Project Origin!"

"What does it say?" Yu Qi asked instantly.

"There are three strict levels of security clearance associated with Project Origin. Regular researchers have no access at all, and even the senior chief researchers are only granted access to the first level. Only two specific individuals hold the highest clearance level to this room." Neko-chan read out from the screen.

"Who are those two people?" Yu Qi pressed.

"Professor Shen..." Neko-chan paused briefly, reading the next line. "...and someone identified only as Master Liang."

"Master Liang?" Yu Qi repeated, her eyes sharpening.

"Hmm." Neko-chan nodded. "The file does not list a real legal name anywhere. It exclusively uses that title."

Yu Qi clenched her fists tightly. They had been searching high and low for traces of Master Liang, and now his name had resurfaced in the heart of this hidden underground facility.

First, Hector Vaughn had referenced his involvement. Then, they uncovered human experiments involving spiritual energy and cultivation methods. Now, it turned out Master Liang possessed ultimate administrative access to the deepest section of this facility. It was becoming undeniably obvious that all these scattered incidents were intricately connected. Yu Qi and Long Hui had already confirmed that Master Liang was a rogue cultivator who had been assisting the MicroTech Organisation with its dark research into spiritual energy, but his footprint here ran far deeper than expected.

"Can you track Professor Shen’s exact location or profile?" Yu Qi asked.

"I can try to track him." Neko-chan’s paws resumed their rapid movements across the screen. After a few minutes of searching through encrypted nodes, she suddenly mumbled, "Wait... this is really strange..."

"What is strange?" Long Hui asked, turning his head toward the phone.

"Professor Shen’s personal information is heavily corrupted and incomplete. His central personnel file was deliberately altered from the inside, and almost all of his historical background and personal data have been completely wiped clean." Neko-chan stated, adjusting her tiny virtual glasses.

"Are you able to restore the erased data?" Yu Qi asked.

"Give me a little time to run a deep data recovery routine." Neko-chan requested some time.

"Hmm... Take your time. We can wait while Brother Hui examines the door." Yu Qi replied calmly.

Yu Qi then looked down at Xiaohua and Xiaoliu, noticing their anxious expressions. "Can you two still feel that calling?"

"Yes, Master. It is actually getting noticeably stronger." Xiaohua slowly nodded, clutching her chest.

"It feels almost as if something inside is waiting specifically for us," Xiaoliu added, his voice low.

"Waiting for us?" Yu Qi’s expression became even more serious.

"Mhm..." Xiaoliu confirmed softly.

"Does the presence feel hostile or dangerous?" Yu Qi asked, casting a cautious glance toward the steel door.

The two tree children looked at each other hesitantly. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂
