Randall Jennings suddenly felt the alcohol going to his head, making him feel restless. He reached out and lowered the car window halfway.

A cold wind rushed in, and the temperature inside the car dropped sharply. Thinking of Megan Nash, he closed the window again.

Seeing this, the driver couldn’t help but ask worriedly, "Chairman, are you not feeling well?"

"I’m fine," Randall Jennings said, letting out a deep breath.

The car stopped downstairs from Megan Nash’s apartment building. After getting out, Randall Jennings carefully helped Megan out of the car. Before he could speak, Megan suddenly pushed him away, rushed to a corner by the roadside, and started throwing up.

Seeing this, Randall Jennings silently grabbed a bottle of water from the car, walked over, knelt down, and gently patted her back. "Are you okay?"

After she finished vomiting, Megan Nash seemed to be a bit more clear-headed. She took the water Randall Jennings offered, rinsed her mouth, and slowly stood up on her own.

"I’m fine now, Randall. You can go back. I can go up by myself."

Randall Jennings looked up at the apartment building above them. "I’ll take you up. Jasmine told me to make sure you got home safely."

Hearing "Jasmine," Megan Nash smiled knowingly and didn’t refuse again.

When they reached her apartment door, Randall Jennings knocked. The person who opened the door was Megan Nash’s mother. She was quite surprised to see Randall Jennings bringing her drunk daughter home.

"Mr. Jennings!"

Megan Nash’s mother quickly and warmly invited him in, while also chiding her daughter, "Oh my, why did you drink so much?"

"It wasn’t that much, Mom. I’m sober now."

Megan Nash said this as she headed to the washroom.

Randall Jennings didn’t enter the apartment. He just looked at Megan Nash’s mother and said, "She just threw up, so she should be fine now. I’ll be heading back."

"Thank you for your trouble, Mr. Jennings." Megan Nash’s mother seemed to hesitate, wanting to say something more. Seeing that Randall Jennings was about to leave, she couldn’t help but call out to him, "Mr. Jennings!"

Randall Jennings stopped and turned to look at her.

Megan Nash’s mother gave an awkward smile. "I know you two have broken up. Megan is still young, and there might have been many ways she fell short. I hope you don’t hold it against her."

"You’re being too serious. She’s a great person, we’re just not right for each other."

Hearing Randall Jennings say this, Megan Nash’s mother smiled, relieved.

Seeing that she had nothing more to say, Randall Jennings gave a nod, then turned and left.

But just as he was waiting for the elevator, Megan Nash came running out in her slippers. "Randall!"

She stopped in front of Randall Jennings and, under his puzzled gaze, summoned her courage to say, "I know I have no right to meddle in your affairs, but what I want to say is, if you really like Jasmine, you should be a little braver."

Hearing this, Randall Jennings’s brow remained furrowed.

"You might have misunderstood something."

"Is that so?" Megan Nash smiled, not backing down. "Maybe. But as a friend, I want to remind you that Jasmine isn’t like other women. She’s already 45 years old. If you’re serious about her, don’t make her wait too long."

Leaving him with those words, Megan Nash turned and left.

DING!

The elevator doors opened. Randall Jennings lowered his gaze slightly, hiding the expression in his eyes. He hesitated for a moment before stepping into the elevator.

Ethan Sterling and Helen White flew for over ten hours, landing in Occidenta the next morning.

First class on an international flight was quite comfortable. The two of them slept for a while on the plane and arrived feeling quite refreshed.

Their passage through the airport was smooth. The first thing Ethan Sterling did was message his family group chat to let them know he’d arrived safely.

While waiting for their luggage, Helen White suddenly pulled him aside to a wall and held up her phone. "Look at the camera."

Ethan Sterling reacted quickly, giving a thumbs-up and a smile for the camera.

Two minutes later, the photo appeared on Helen White’s social media feed with the caption: "We’ve landed. Global Finals, here we come!"

When Ethan Sterling saw it, he quietly liked the post.

’This is the first time a woman other than my sister has posted a picture of me on her feed.’

When it was time to move the luggage, Ethan Sterling didn’t let Helen White lift a finger, stacking both their bags on the luggage cart by himself.

After arriving at the hotel and checking in, the two parted ways at their respective room doors.

"Do you want to rest for a bit?" Helen White asked Ethan Sterling.

"I’m not really tired. Are you hungry?"

"A little. How about we meet in the lobby later and go for a walk?"

"Sounds good!"

With almost no back and forth, they quickly agreed.

Back in his room, Ethan Sterling unpacked, took a shower, changed his clothes, and went downstairs first. Girls always take a bit longer to get ready, so he waited patiently in the hotel lobby.

He used the time to look up food guides for the area near the hotel online, bookmarking a few well-reviewed restaurants.

About half an hour later, Helen White came down. "Sorry about that, I had to wash my hair."

"No problem." Ethan Sterling gestured for Helen White to sit down and handed her his phone. "These restaurants are all nearby. See if there are any you’d like to go to."

"You even did some research?" Helen White was pleasantly surprised. She was the type of person who never made plans, always deciding where to go and what to do on the spot.

"I just looked around a bit while I was waiting for you."

"You found so many in such a short time. You’re pretty efficient." As she spoke, Helen White quickly picked a restaurant. "I know this street. A lot of luxury stores are here, and I was planning to go shopping anyway."

Ethan Sterling had no objections at all. "Then let’s go to that one."

Helen White smiled at Ethan Sterling. She had noticed it too—they communicated smoothly, made decisions quickly and decisively, and were very comfortable around each other.

She herself was impatient and hated indecisive people who lacked their own opinions, especially those who not only had no opinions but also liked to argue with others. She couldn’t stand that.

"Did you bring any cash?" Ethan Sterling suddenly asked Helen White, remembering his sister’s advice.

Helen White nodded. "Of course I did!"

You had to leave tips here, so it was always good to have some cash on hand.

"Let me hold it for you. My sister said it’s not safe to carry cash around; it makes you a target for pickpockets," Ethan Sterling said seriously.

But Helen White just laughed. "What? And it won’t get stolen if you’re holding it?"

"Well, not necessarily, but pickpockets might be a little more wary of a guy!"

’He’s pretty thoughtful.’ Helen White didn’t object. She took the spare cash from her pocket and gave it to Ethan Sterling. It wasn’t much money anyway; she had her Visa card.

The two followed the navigation to the restaurant, a bustling Italian place. There were a few other Asian faces in the restaurant as well.

Ethan Sterling ordered their meal fluently and flawlessly in English, and Helen White found herself captivated by his accent.

"Is your English accent British?" Helen White found this interesting, as most people in their country were taught American pronunciation.

Ethan Sterling smiled. "I can do an American accent too, but I personally prefer the British one."

"I love a ’Corinium accent’ too! I think it’s incredibly sexy!"
