Chapter 576 - 572: Can We Do It Again?

The two were locked in a war of tongues, kissing so passionately in front of Cecilia Langley that the world around them seemed to fade away.

Cecilia Langley was completely dumbfounded.

How could they...

How dare they...

"Excuse me, did you call for a designated driver?"

A cautious voice suddenly piped up from the other side of the car. A young man in a designated driver’s uniform, straddling a bicycle, held up his phone in one hand while pointing at the license plate with the other. "Plate number 4668."

As he spoke, he used the faint light from a lantern behind him to peer into the darkness on the other side. A moment ago, he thought he saw something...

’Were those two kissing?’

He then looked at Cecilia Langley, his wide, innocent eyes blinking. ’Then what’s this lady doing here?’

Just then, upon hearing the driver’s voice, Cecilia Sterling and Emeric Grant slowly pulled apart. A glistening, suggestive thread connected their lips for a moment.

Cecilia Sterling could feel Emeric Grant’s breathing grow heavy. Seizing the moment, she looked up, her eyes brimming with flirtatious charm, and met his gaze. His pupils were burning with desire.

Yet, his face remained as cold and stern as ever. The contrast with the desire blazing in his eyes pushed his restrained, ascetic aura to its absolute peak.

Emeric Grant stared back at Cecilia Sterling, the sensation of her lips still lingering on his. His mind went blank for a second before the aftertaste, the memory of the kiss, came flooding back.

Her lips were full and sweet-scented, and kissing her sent a soul-stirring thrill through him.

The reason Emeric Grant felt it so intensely was because this was the first time he had ever kissed a girl. This was his first kiss!

For his first time, Cecilia Sterling had given him a long, lingering, passionate kiss.

"Uh, who called for the driver?"

It wasn’t until the driver spoke again that Emeric Grant snapped back to reality. Masking the emotion in his eyes, he turned and raised his hand with perfect composure. "Hello, I’m the one who called."

"Glad to be of service. Just give me the keys, and please get in the car." The driver switched to his professional smile in an instant and stepped forward to take the keys from Emeric Grant.

"Let’s get in the car."

Emeric Grant said to Cecilia Sterling, stepping forward to open the car door for her.

Cecilia Sterling was naturally far more composed than Emeric Grant. She subconsciously glanced at Cecilia Langley before ducking into the back seat.

Cecilia Langley was completely petrified, still reeling from the sudden kiss between Cecilia Sterling and Emeric Grant.

Emeric Grant closed the door and started to walk around to the other side. He paused as he passed Cecilia Langley and said seriously, his voice low, "You saw it. Whether you believe it or not, this is the reality."

There was no need for any more words. He walked straight to the other side, opened the back door, and got in. "Driver, Lorcain Tech South Gate, thank you."

"Alright, please fasten your seatbelts. We’ll be on our way." As he spoke, the driver couldn’t help but glance at the two in the rearview mirror, sighing in admiration. ’What a perfect match, a handsome man and a beautiful woman.’

’That whole situation just now must have been a love triangle, right?’

’It’s a shame about the other girl. She seemed quite pretty, too.’

While he was thinking this, his hand honked the horn twice, signaling for Cecilia Langley, who was behind the car, to move.

The two HONKS snapped Cecilia Langley back to her senses. With a vacant expression, she took two steps back and watched as Emeric Grant’s car reversed, turned the wheel, and drove out of the alley.

"Cecilia."

Keith Grant had appeared behind Cecilia Langley at some point. Seeing her lonely and grief-stricken figure, he called out her name, his voice laced with pain.

Hearing his voice, Cecilia Langley took a deep breath and turned around, her expression cold. "Are you pitying me?"

"You know that’s not it," Keith Grant said urgently. "You know how I feel about you."

Cecilia Langley scoffed. "Then you should also know how I feel. My feelings for you, Keith, are the same as your brother’s for me. Friendship is as far as we’ll ever go."

"But you haven’t given up on him, have you?" Keith Grant stared at her, mustering his courage. "So I won’t give up either."

"Suit yourself."

With that, Cecilia Langley walked around him and left.

The designated driver was skilled, and the car moved with exceptional smoothness.

Cecilia Sterling and Emeric Grant sat on opposite sides of the back seat, each gazing out their window at the passing night scenery. Neither spoke, but their hands were tightly clasped together.

The driver occasionally stole a glance at them. The quiet atmosphere was thick with a palpable intimacy, making him unconsciously hold his breath.

"Sir, we’ve arrived."

Only when the car came to a slow stop did the two of them turn their heads.

"Thank you for using our service. We look forward to your five-star review."

The driver handed the car keys back to Emeric Grant, his curiosity still piqued as he observed their expressions before he left.

Cecilia Sterling let out a soft breath and was about to speak when Emeric Grant cut in, "I’ll walk you to your dorm."

His tone was gentle but held an unwavering seriousness.

’We’re playing "couple for a day," and we’ve already kissed, so we might as well see it through. Walking his girlfriend back to her dorm is just part of the role.’

This time, their hands seemed to have a magnetic pull, finding each other naturally the moment they started walking forward.

"Just now..."

On the way back to the dorm, Emeric Grant was the first to speak, but he trailed off after just two words.

He hesitated for a moment, then continued, "Was I too forceful? I didn’t make you uncomfortable, did I?"

’She had expected him to say something like, "Thanks for your help," or "You really didn’t have to go so far as to kiss me."’

She never thought he would ask a question like that.

"So you do care about how I feel!" Cecilia Sterling turned to him, smiling as she countered with a question of her own. "You don’t feel like you got the short end of the stick, do you?"

Emeric Grant shook his head. "In a situation like this, you’re the one who should feel taken advantage of."

"I don’t feel taken advantage of, either. I was the one who initiated it," Cecilia Sterling said brightly. "I asked you beforehand what your limits were. You said anything was fine, so I kissed you."

"That was my first time!"

Cecilia Sterling: !

Her smile froze on her face. She stared at Emeric Grant, blinking in utter shock.

Emeric Grant, however, was perfectly calm. Seeing her expression, he repeated himself, "It was my first kiss."

Cecilia Sterling: !

’First kiss?’

’She had even suspected Emeric Grant might be a virgin, but she’d never imagined he still had his first kiss.’

’Then that kiss just now...’

A wave of guilt washed over her.

She came to her senses. "Why didn’t you say so earlier?"

"It all happened so suddenly, I don’t think I had a chance to," Emeric Grant said. Noticing the shift in Cecilia Sterling’s mood, a smile crept into his eyes. "I don’t really care about it, so you don’t have to, either."

"Then I guess I took advantage of you this time," Cecilia Sterling said.

"But I enjoyed it," Emeric Grant said, suddenly stopping. He gazed at Cecilia Sterling, his expression serious, his eyes dark and deep. His Adam’s apple bobbed once before he asked in a low voice, "Can we do it again?"

Cecilia Sterling looked at him, her heart starting to pound. In that moment, Emeric Grant looked incredibly desirable.

’An ascetic, self-controlled man suddenly asking you, "Can we do it again?"’

’Who could possibly say no?’
