Hearing this, Wyatt Sherman subconsciously glanced at Cecilia Sterling, his eyes lighting up.

But Cecilia just casually refused, "No need. This men’s one is fine. Just find the right size for him to try on."

At her words, the sales associate nodded, looking a little awkward.

As for Wyatt, he was standing to the side, pressing his lips together to keep from laughing, not the least bit upset by Cecilia’s rejection.

"Stop laughing and go try it on."

"Oh." Wyatt nodded and followed the associate to the fitting rooms.

Cecilia glanced around and started browsing the store on her own.

In the women’s section, Cecilia moved along one of the aisles, looking at the clothes hanging on the wall, and finally stopped in front of a black camisole.

Just as she reached out, another hand, this one with a solid-color manicure, reached out from the side at the exact same moment. They had the same target: the black camisole.

Both hands froze almost simultaneously. Then, they both turned to look at each other.

Their eyes met, and both Cecilia and the other woman were stunned.

’Cindy Underwood?’

’The bully from my old dorm!’

Cecilia was clearly surprised. Since moving out of her old dorm, her only interaction with Cindy Underwood had been when Cindy broke her hundred-dollar bracelet, an issue they had settled through mediation at a police station.

That was way back in Chapter 15.

They had barely run into each other since.

Cindy Underwood, on the other hand, was even more shocked to see Cecilia. Her shock quickly gave way to undisguised disgust, and without another word, she snatched the camisole off the rack.

A snide voice followed immediately after. "Long time no see. I heard from your classmates that you barely go to class anymore."

Cecilia silently rolled her eyes and turned to leave.

But Cindy wouldn’t let it go. "You’re really something else, Cecilia. I heard you took a huge sum of money from Shawn Lane’s family. Even that telescope you donated to the school was actually donated by the Lane Group in your name. No wonder you were willing to break up with Shawn Lane. Turns out one breakup can get you both fame and fortune. It’s a real eye-opener!"

As she spoke, she gave Cecilia a contemptuous once-over. "So you got a taste of high society, huh? How’s that feel? How much of the money you got for dumping Shawn Lane do you have left?"

"Did you take a laxative before you left the house?" Cecilia asked nonchalantly.

Cindy’s triumphant expression froze. "What’s that supposed to mean?"

"Otherwise, why are you spewing so much crap?"

Cecilia sneered and slowly raised her wrist, revealing the diamond-covered Tiffany bracelet. She reminded the other girl, "This bracelet here? This is what you compensated me for last time you ran your mouth. A hundred dollars, remember?"

Seeing the bracelet, Cindy’s eyes instantly reddened with fury.

It was because of that bracelet incident that her father had flown into a rage at her and cut her allowance. Even now, her monthly allowance was less than fifty cents.

’It was all Cecilia’s fault!’

"You only know how to use these dirty tricks! What’s there to be so proud of!" Cindy seethed through gritted teeth.

But Cecilia’s smile only grew wider and more unrestrained. "What kind of trick is this? Only nasty, stupid people have this kind of bad luck. I’m talking about people like you!"

"You..."

Cindy’s face flushed red from Cecilia’s retort. She was about to explode when a guy suddenly walked up to her. "Cindy, is this your friend?"

The guy was tall with well-defined features—a standard-issue handsome man.

Seeing the guy, Cindy’s expression instantly changed. She looped her arm through his and said, "A former roommate."

"Oh, hello. I’m Cindy’s boyfriend." The guy nodded politely. His attitude was decent enough.

But then Cindy added in a low voice, "The one I told you about before. Her name’s Cecilia Sterling. Do you remember?"

At her reminder, the guy’s expression changed instantly. Even though Cecilia was stunningly beautiful, he couldn’t hide the strange, judgmental look in his eyes as he stared at her.

Cindy smirked with satisfaction. It didn’t matter if Cecilia knew the backstory or not; being stared at like that would make anyone uncomfortable.

As long as Cecilia was unhappy, she was happy.

"My boyfriend. He goes to Lorcain U." Cindy’s smug expression was plain to see. Her boyfriend was tall, handsome, and a top student at Lorcain U—of course she had to show him off in front of Cecilia.

’Aside from his family’s wealth, he’s not that much worse than Shawn Lane, is he?’

Cecilia sneered. "I guess some people really are blind."

"What did you say?" The guy’s brows furrowed, as if he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.

"Reggie?"

Just then, Wyatt Sherman, having changed into the shorts, came looking for her. He saw Reggie Hale standing across from Cecilia and thought his eyes were playing tricks on him, but it really was him.

The guy named Reggie Hale was also surprised to see Wyatt, and his face lit up with a happy expression as he greeted him. "Wyatt Sherman! You shop at this store too?"

At the sight of Wyatt, Cindy’s eyes lit up again.

Reggie Hale was already handsome, but Wyatt’s appearance instantly made him pale in comparison.

Wyatt walked over, ignoring everyone else. He stood up straight in front of Cecilia and asked eagerly, "Cecilia, what do you think?"

Cecilia looked him over and nodded in satisfaction. "They look good. A handsome man looks good in anything."

That single sentence was all it took to make Wyatt melt. He broke into a wide grin. "Then I’ll take these."

"Wyatt Sherman, you... you two know each other?" Reggie Hale asked in surprise.

Wyatt nodded. Cecilia, however, looked at Cindy and, mimicking her earlier tone when she introduced her boyfriend, said, "Wyatt Sherman. My suitor. He also goes to Lorcain U."

Cindy’s eyes bulged as if they were about to shoot fire.

Reggie Hale was even more shocked, staring at his senior. ’And what was that she just said?’

’My suitor?’

’Who introduces someone like that?’

But looking at Wyatt’s expression, he was clearly enjoying it, looking perfectly natural. Happiness was written all over his face, as if to say, ’Yep, that’s right. I’m exactly what she said.’

Seeing their reactions, Cecilia smiled with satisfaction. "Shall we go?"

Wyatt snapped back to reality. "Want to see a movie?"

Cecilia was in a great mood, so she nodded.

"Reggie, we’re heading out then." Before leaving, Wyatt didn’t forget to say goodbye to Reggie Hale.

Only after the two of them had left did Cindy finally come to her senses, stomping her foot in anger.

"Ugh, ugh, UGH! She got to show off again!" Cindy looked at her boyfriend, resentful. "That handso—... that guy just now is your senior?"

Reggie Hale nodded honestly.

Cindy asked again, "You’re on the Lorcain U basketball team. You should be more famous at school, right?"

She cared about this because she had already lost to Cecilia completely. Her boyfriend had to win!

But Reggie hesitated before saying, "Wyatt Sherman is the vice president of the student union. He’s more famous!"

Cindy: "..."

"But why would he be pursuing your former roommate?" Reggie mumbled with a worried look on his face. "Doesn’t that girl have major character flaws?"

Hearing this, Cindy’s eyes lit up. "Because he’s not from Lorcain Tech, so he doesn’t know what Cecilia is really like! He’s your senior. When you get the chance, you have to set him straight. Otherwise, aren’t we just standing by and watching him get tricked by a horrible girl like Cecilia?"
