Reborn Rich: Prices Dropped, My Savings Didn't
Chapter 335 - 333: Do You Really Think You’re the Protagonist?
"Watch your mouth."
Cece Desire, who had been silent the whole time, finally spoke up, apparently humiliated by what Blair had just said.
"Don’t like what you hear? Too bad, I’ve already said it!" Blair scoffed, then turned to the staff member. "First, one of your staff members showed me to this seat. I didn’t force my way here, and everyone sitting nearby saw it."
"Second, I have no particular attachment to this seat. If she wanted it, she could have discussed it with me nicely, and I would have gladly given it to her. But she didn’t. She brought along some yapping dog on a leash that just won’t stop getting on my nerves. So today, I’m not giving up this seat."
"If you want to move someone, move her. I’m staying right here!"
Hearing Blair’s words, some of the surrounding influencers couldn’t help but secretly applaud under the table.
’Damn, that girl’s got guts. This is so satisfying to watch!’
The event was about to start, and the staff member was in a bind.
Just then, a man in a suit walked over. The staff member sighed in relief upon seeing him and quickly said, "Manager, you’re here. This..."
Before the staff member could finish, the manager gently raised a hand, signaling him to say no more.
Then, under everyone’s astonished gaze, he walked up to Blair and flashed an almost fawning smile. "Miss Blair, are you having some trouble?"
The manager’s attitude took everyone by surprise, and the way they looked at Blair changed.
’She has connections?’
Cece Desire blinked in disbelief. Although the manager of an event like this wasn’t exactly a big shot, for him to be so respectful to one person meant she was definitely no ordinary guest.
Even Blair herself was a bit stunned, but a moment’s thought made it clear. It must have been Cecilia’s doing.
Cecilia Sterling was seated not far away at the front. Although they weren’t sitting together, she had been keeping an eye on the situation over here.
Seeing from a distance that Blair seemed to be in a bit of trouble, she had quickly asked James Lockwood to find someone to resolve it, which led to the current scene.
Blair said calmly, her expression unchanged, "It’s not really trouble. Someone just insists on having my seat. You can handle it."
As she spoke, she shot a glance at Cece Desire and said sarcastically, "It wouldn’t look good for such a top-tier influencer to be left standing here for the whole event."
"Of course. Please, have a seat. I’ll handle this." The manager nodded quickly and even personally adjusted Blair’s chair to make her more comfortable.
Cece Desire was dumbfounded. ’How could he let *her* sit first?’
’What about me?’
The manager turned to Cece Desire, his attitude still very polite. "My apologies, there was a mistake in the seating arrangements by our staff. But rest assured, a proper seat has been arranged for you. Let me show you the way!"
"Wait a minute!"
Cece Desire was confused. Her gaze swept over the others at the table. They were the same influencers she always sat with at events, all of them top-tier. And she was the top of the top.
"I always sit at the same table as these people. Where are you planning to put me?" Cece Desire asked.
The manager maintained his smile. "If you’ll just come with me."
"I’m not going anywhere until you tell me. I’m supposed to be at this table!" Cece Desire insisted.
The manager glanced at the table. There was indeed an empty spot for another person, but he couldn’t make that arrangement. It was obvious that a conflict had already erupted between Cece Desire and Miss Blair. Based on President Lockwood’s instructions, he couldn’t let them share a table and risk more trouble later on.
His smile faded a little, and his tone became more distant. "Guest seating is determined by the event organizers. There’s no such thing as ’supposed to’ or ’should be’."
The implication was clear: ’You’ll sit where I tell you to sit!’
Hearing the manager’s words, Cece Desire felt utterly humiliated. Everyone was watching, and they were all her peers. She knew many of them were dying to see her make a fool of herself.
So she stood rooted to the spot, showing no intention of cooperating.
Seeing that Cece Desire still had no intention of complying, the smile vanished completely from the manager’s face. When he spoke again, his tone held an unfriendly threat. "The event is about to begin. If you continue to refuse to cooperate with the organizers, then I’ll have no choice but to have security ’escort’ you from the premises."
"How dare you?" Cece Desire was furious. She had been at the top of the influencer world for a year or two. At any event, she was always one of the main attractions, sometimes even outshining some celebrities. When had she ever been treated like this?
’Kick her out?’
’This is ridiculous!’
Seeing this, the manager’s patience had run out completely.
He had run countless events like this one and knew the hierarchy of guests inside and out.
Influencers were merely the lowest-ranking attendees at the entire event. No matter how many fans you had, there was an insurmountable status barrier between you and actual celebrities.
The seating arrangement for the entire venue made this clear. This table was for the top internet influencers, yet it was located in a relatively rear position on the left side.
Even celebrities, who had higher priority than influencers, were only secondary at an event like this.
Their seats were closer to the front, but still off to the left and right sides.
The two tables at the very front and center were reserved for the most important people at the event.
The true titans of the industry and the ’capital’ that controlled it all.
The people they were really there to serve were these titans. The so-called celebrities and influencers were just invited to generate buzz and traffic for the event.
To put it bluntly, the celebrities and influencers were just there to provide entertainment for the big shots’ event.
The smart ones could use the opportunity to build connections and secure resources.
’The foolish ones actually think they’re the main characters?’
The manager was about to give Cece Desire one last chance when another man in a suit approached and whispered something in his ear.
The manager’s expression changed upon hearing the words. His gaze subconsciously shifted to Blair, and he gave a slight nod.
After the man left, the manager suddenly walked back to Blair’s side, leaned in, and said in a low voice, "Miss Blair, we have arranged a new seat for you. Would you be willing to move?"
Blair turned her head to look at the manager. He gave her a slight nod, as if giving her a hint.
Although she didn’t know what the manager was planning, she knew he was the person Cecilia had arranged to help, so she finally relaxed her stance and nodded.
As Blair stood up, she didn’t forget to down the wine in her glass. Then, she looked at Cece Desire and said coolly, "It’s all yours."
Cece Desire’s eyes widened at her words.
’Let me have it?’
’As if I need you to *let* me have it?’
