Mina first looked at Warner and said, "Didn’t one of your clients give you a case of imported fruit last time, too?"

Then, she turned to Jasmine Sterling with a friendly smile and explained, "Jasmine, see? Since we serve more high-end clients, we get some nice perks every now and then. The stuff isn’t expired or anything; sometimes clients just don’t want it anymore, so they give it to us."

Warner nodded in agreement. "That’s right. Wealthy people generally have more class. They might have a lot of demands, but most of them are very generous and respectable."

Hearing this, Jasmine Sterling could only manage an awkward yet polite smile.

"How are you feeling today?" Mina asked with concern. "I was watching you work with me just now. You’re very quick on your feet and a fast learner. Did you find it tiring after we finished this place?"

Group A was small, so they were desperate for more members. Sometimes, when they were short-staffed, only one or two people would have to clean a large flat-style apartment or a villa, and it was absolutely exhausting. Even though they were paid by the hour, no one wanted to spend five or six hours on a single job. Their backs really couldn’t take it.

For example, with Miss Lawson’s large apartment today, the three of them finished cleaning it in just three hours.

"It was fine. I’m not tired, actually," Jasmine Sterling said.

Cleaning was something she was naturally good at, but since this was her first time experiencing the housekeeping industry, she still found it quite novel.

"As long as you can get used to it, that’s what matters," Mina said. "Keep up the good work, build up a base of regular clients, and in the future, you’ll earn a good amount even if you only do one house a day on average."

When she returned to the Spotless Serenity office, the manager personally came over to ask Jasmine Sterling about her experience on her first job, showing his concern for quite some time.

In the end, he had Jasmine Sterling go over to the Group A desk to log her job for the day.

"See, ma’am? Even though you didn’t work a full four hours, we still bill for four. Just from this one job, your commission will be several hundred. Isn’t that an easy way to make money?"

A nearby staff member chimed in, "Just wait until you get your paycheck at the end of the month, ma’am. You’ll see what our manager means."

Jasmine Sterling got home a little after six in the evening. Just as she walked through the main gate, she saw through the villa’s floor-to-ceiling windows that the living room lights were on. ’Why is Ethan home from school so early today?’ she wondered.

But when she walked in, she found that her daughter was the one who was back.

"It’s not the weekend. What brings you back so suddenly?" Jasmine Sterling asked, surprised.

Leaning against the entryway, Cecilia Sterling watched her mother change her shoes. Instead of answering right away, she asked a question of her own. "You went out? Where to?"

"Just out for a stroll," Jasmine Sterling replied vaguely, not wanting to reveal a single thing about her job search. She quickly changed the subject. "Have you eaten? Are you hungry? What would you like?"

"I just ate at two, so I’m not hungry yet."

Cecilia Sterling followed her mother inside and had her sit down on the sofa. "Do you get bored being home by yourself all the time?"

Jasmine Sterling gave a small, slightly forced smile. "It’s fine. When I get stir-crazy, I go for a walk. Isn’t that what I did today?"

"Has Mrs. Duncan come to visit you in the last couple of days?" Cecilia Sterling asked.

"She has, but I can’t bother her every day."

Cecilia Sterling understood. Although her mother and Mrs. Duncan had become friends, their bond wasn’t yet as close as hers was with Estelle. They had just met; it would take time for the initial unfamiliarity between them to fade.

So Cecilia Sterling took out the Aetherium Black Gold Card she had prepared. "Mom, this is for you."

"What’s this?" Jasmine Sterling asked, looking at the card in her hand. It didn’t look like a bank card. "A membership card?"

Cecilia Sterling raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Sort of. I just acquired a business club in a joint venture with two partners. It’s pretty much the most high-end one in the country. It has everything—food, drinks, entertainment, beauty treatments, massages. This card has no limit. You can just go, and with facial recognition, you can enjoy anything you want without paying a cent."

"I got one for Lily and Ethan, too."

Jasmine Sterling’s eyes widened in pleasant surprise. "It’s that great? Can I take Mrs. Duncan with me?"

"Of course. You can bring whoever you want. It’s our family’s club, so don’t you get to call the shots?"

Jasmine Sterling felt a little sheepish. "Well, it’s not entirely ours, is it? There are still two other partners. Won’t they have a problem with it?"

"They won’t, Mom. Both partners treat me very well. Besides, it’s not like our family is the only one with Black Gold Cards. They got them for their families, too. So just stop worrying about it and go have fun whenever you’re bored."

At that, Jasmine Sterling smiled, relieved. "Alright, then. It’s always Mrs. Duncan taking me out. Next time, I’ll take her to your club for a new experience."

"Exactly. Spend more time with Mrs. Duncan. If you hang out with her, you’ll gradually meet more people."

「Redwood Village. The Film Set.」

A scene had just wrapped. Director Titus Ashton stood up, gave a big stretch to loosen his muscles, and shouted to Jade Smithson and two male actors who were getting makeup touch-ups, "We’ll shoot two more close-ups and then call it a day. Everyone get some rest tonight. Tomorrow, we’re heading to town for some location shots."

"Okay, Director! No problem," Jade Smithson replied with a smile and a nod.

But just then, an actress from the same production, Jean Donovan, suddenly ran out. She rushed up to Jade Smithson and, before anyone could react, swung her hand and slapped her across the face.

SLAP!

The slap was solid and loud, its sound exceptionally clear on the newly quieted set.

Everyone on the sidelines was stunned. Yuna’s eyes flew wide open, her expression a mixture of shock and a barely suppressed desire to laugh. Lily Sterling, standing beside her, quickly tugged on Yuna’s sleeve, silently warning her that her reaction was too obvious. Yuna immediately clapped a hand over her mouth to keep from laughing out loud.

In just over a month, this Jade Smithson had managed to make every single woman on set, from cast to crew, despise her utterly.

The force of the slap snapped Jade Smithson’s head to the side. Her eyes filled with disbelief. A moment later, a burning sting bloomed on her cheek. Snapping back to her senses, she glared furiously at Jean Donovan. "Are you crazy?! How dare you hit me?"

"I hit *you*, that’s who!" Jean Donovan’s eyes were wide with fury. She showed not a shred of fear, despite Jade Smithson being a more senior actress. Instead, she deliberately raised her voice and yelled, "If you don’t know how to use that mouth of yours, then just shut the fuck up! Spreading dirty rumors about other women everywhere—who do you think you’re sickening? This crew is only so big. Did you really think people wouldn’t find out?"

"I spread rumors? What rumors did I spread?" Jade Smithson clutched her cheek, refusing to admit anything. She screamed at Jean Donovan, "Show me the proof! If you can’t, then you’re the one slandering me, and I’m calling the cops!"

The two male actors standing nearby had been dumbfounded and were only just now snapping out of it. Seeing the situation escalate, the surrounding crew members rushed forward to break them up. "Hey, hey, let’s talk this out! No need to get physical!"
