Chapter 909 Capture of Six Tails

A cover of thick mist covered the air, making it difficult to see the gruesome sight.

Covered in blood, wearing a ragged and torn Akatsuki black cloak, and carrying his sickle in his right hand, Hidan looked around as if trying to search for something, “Na… Kakuzu… Kisame, have you seen my arm? I could swear it flew off somewhere around here… but I am still unable to find it…!”

“Eto… let’s see… Maybe it got stuck between those rocks,” spoke Kisame as he finished wrapping Samehada in bandages.

Kisame’s state wasn’t good either. Although there weren’t any injuries on his body, courtesy of the healing properties of Samehada, the Akatsuki Cloak he was wearing was torn in various places, showing that he had suffered quite serious injuries.

“Yeah… help me out here,” spoke Hidan as he and Kisame looked around the rocks, trying to search for Hidan’s missing arm.

At this time, Kakuzu stood up and looked around.

As far as the eyes could see, there was destruction. Large cracks ran through the island, overturned and broken trees, giant holes in the ground that were filled with dirty water, and a messed-up forest. All these signs told that a fierce battle had taken place on this island not long ago.

As Kakuzu took a deep breath, still feeling the lack of four hearts in his body that he lost during the battle, he turned around and looked at the culprit: Utakata.

His body was nailed to a tree with a handful of Kunai, and blood was dripping from his body, forming small puddles of blood on the ground. There were also several scars on his body that were visible through his torn clothes. Looking at his state, it would appear that he is dead; however, he is very much alive, just unconscious.

“Didn’t think that this guy would turn out to be such a handful,” muttered Kakuzu with a sigh.

He, Kisame, and Hidan worked together to fight him, and after a long and arduous battle, they finally managed to defeat him. If not for Kisame’s unreasonable Chakra healing, as well as Samehada’s ability to eat Chakra, Hidan’s immortality, which is extremely difficult to deal with, and his unconventional power, perhaps they might have failed to defeat Utakata.

“The information we received about the Jinchuriki of Six Tails… it wasn’t completely accurate… this guy’s strength is not only top-notch, but he is also a perfect Jinchuriki!” Kakuzu spoke with a sigh.

Honestly, Kakuzu wanted to complain.

The intelligence that they had received about the abilities of Utakata said that his threat level wasn’t too high, perhaps mid-tier Kage Rank. Therefore, Kakuzu was under the impression that capturing Utakata wouldn’t be such a difficult task.

However, his impression was wrong… Utakata’s strength is straight off the charts. It wouldn’t be far-fetched to say that he is high tier in the Kage Rank—heck, perhaps even stronger than that, as he has complete control over his tailed beast!

In his Perfect-tailed beast form, the strength and speed he displayed were unlike anything else!

Moreover, the way he spammed the tailed beast bomb one after another—in truth, he was responsible for more than ninety percent of the destruction, and this was still not the end! He had wrapped himself in some form of glue acid that made it difficult for attacks to work on him, as metal would just melt, and hand-to-hand combat proved to be dangerous.

Not to mention the corrosive mist that is still lingering in the air!

Let alone fighting him, even approaching Utakata is a very risky task!

In Kakuzu’s personal evaluation, Utakata’s strength is not inferior to that of Killer Bee… perhaps Utakata is more dangerous than Killer Bee because of his acid and corrosive powers.

‘Sigh, thankfully, Nagato also sent Kisame with us… otherwise…’ Kakuzu didn’t want to think about the consequences.

As Kakuzu took a relieved breath, Hidan’s laughter suddenly burst out, “Hahaha… I finally found it!”

“Great…!” spoke Kisame with a sharky grin.

Kakuzu put away the messy thoughts and looked in the direction of Kisame and Hidan.

As Hidan attached his arm back, Kakuzu said, “Considering the scale of the battle, it wouldn’t be surprising if other Kirigakure shinobi came to check… Let’s take this guy and retreat…!”

Kisame nodded, “Yes,” as he picked up Utakata with his Samehada.

Hidan followed the two, “Ne… I need more sacrifices for Jashin-sama… do you think I can use Kirigakure or maybe Takigakure for that?”

Mount Myōboku

As the smoke and dust that covered the sky gradually disappeared, a chaotic scene appeared.

In a strange forest, dozens of giant toads fell here and there with various injuries on their bodies.

Beside one of the toads was Jiraiya, lying in a pool of blood with black rods pinning him to the ground.

The Elder Toads, Fukasaku, and Shima were in no better state; each had a black rod stuck in their bodies, making it difficult for them to gather Natural Energy or fight back.

The two Jinchuriki, Naruto and Fū, were captured. Because of the wooden branches wrapping around them, their chakra was constantly drained, making it impossible for them to break through or enter the tailed beast state.

On the entire battlefield, the only one who wasn’t restrained and could move around was Uchiha Sasuke, who was used as a host by Zetsu for his Spore Technique. He was staring at the lavender eyes with ripple patterns in Nagato’s eye sockets. ‘Are those the Legendary Rinnegan?’

Feeling Sasuke’s gaze on him, Nagato indifferently glanced at Sasuke for a moment. Then, without paying him any attention, he passed by him and approached Naruto and Fū.

Seeing Nagato approaching Naruto and Fū with not-so-good intentions, Sasuke tried to interfere. However, he was frozen in place, not by any physical restraints, but by overwhelming fear. He could move if he wanted to, yet fear and survival instincts paralyzed him, preventing even the slightest movement.

‘Damn it… move… move, damn it! How can you just watch Naruto and Fū being taken away?’ Sasuke screamed internally, desperately trying to intervene. However, despite his internal plea, his body remained immobilized by fear, trembling, and refusing to budge.

Sasuke had witnessed Nagato overpower Jiraiya, defeat dozens of strong toads, and take down Elder Fukasaku and Shima. He knew that any attempt to intervene would result in Nagato swiftly defeating, possibly even killing him. This knowledge intensified his fear.

This fear mirrored a past experience when he was much younger, facing Homusubi and Yama, who were about to capture an Uchiha. Just like then, Sasuke found himself helpless and terrified.

But Sasuke’s desire to help Naruto and Fū was stronger than his fear. For some inexplicable reason, he was unwilling to let Nagato take Naruto away. This went beyond friendship; deeper, unexplained reasons fueled this urge to protect Naruto.

Fear, unwillingness, shame, a protective instinct, anger, self-hatred—all these emotions and thoughts swirled within Sasuke’s mind, creating a chaotic storm. Clenching his teeth and fists, he summoned all his strength, even the hidden reserves he thought he lacked, and attempted to step in Nagato’s path.

At that moment, a transformation occurred. His black eyes turned scarlet, and the two black tomoe in his Sharingan spun rapidly before a third tomoe emerged. His two tomoe Sharingan had evolved into the three tomoe Sharingan!
