Chapter 2029 - 2023: Regret

Chapter 2029: Chapter 2023: Regret

"Your mother said it on purpose. She thinks I can’t handle those uncles properly, and she’s making fun of me," Chu Molin explained to the kids, trying to convey Qin Xue’s general meaning.

"Oh, I see. I think Dad is great no matter what. He can handle those uncles perfectly," Ke Zhuan still had faith in Chu Molin for this matter.

"Exactly, our dad is the best," Yu Chen nodded along.

"Alright, I know your dad is the most amazing, the best. Now go wash your hands and eat. Xue Ling, stop what you’re doing and eat first," Qin Xue said, looking at Xue Ling, who hadn’t responded and was busy with something.

"Coming." Xue Ling hurriedly finished what it was doing, then went to wash up and eat. It couldn’t afford any delays in its work.

"What have you been busy with lately? I see you bustling around every day." Qin Xue asked, handing Xue Ling a bowl of rice as it sat down to eat. Nowadays, Xue Ling ate, drank, and did everything just like humans.

Although this was the case, Qin Xue knew it was still different; it just wasn’t fasting anymore. So it lived like an ordinary person.

"Life-saving stuff," Xue Ling couldn’t tell Qin Xue much right now. She would naturally find out when the time was right.

"I really don’t know what mysterious thing you’re up to again. Finish your meal and then work on it," Qin Xue left it be, since what it did was always good, she’d let it do its thing.

"Master, what I’m making will be useful to you," Xue Ling communicated with Qin Xue through its thoughts while still eating.

"Hmm, whatever you make is always useful to me," Qin Xue thought Xue Ling was talking about herbs as usual, so she agreed with Xue Ling without knowing it meant something else entirely.

Xue Ling shook its head. The master still didn’t understand its meaning. It seemed it needed to strengthen its cultivation to protect her, or she wouldn’t even know when someone harmed her.

"Xue’er, have you been too tired lately? You look thinner," Chu Molin placed a piece of fish in Qin Xue’s bowl, looking at her with concern.

"A bit, I’ll take care of it. You should rest more too. You’ve lost weight yourself; why don’t you talk about yourself?" Qin Xue felt for him too, wondering if he had been overtraining lately.

"I’m just toned, not thin. Don’t worry about me," Chu Molin chuckled. Besides work, he trained every day. It was all muscle, very solid, not thin at all.

"Anyway, work is work, but don’t overwork yourself. Or else, watch how I deal with you," Qin Xue sternly told Chu Molin.

"Got it, my dear wife. Could you give me another bowl of rice?" Chu Molin smiled as he put his bowl in front of Qin Xue.

"I know, every time, you just make excuses when I try to talk to you, looking for a distraction so you don’t have to listen," Qin Xue sighed, feeling helpless with this man.

"Nothing like that, you’re overthinking." Of course, Chu Molin wouldn’t admit it. His wife cared for him and loved him, so he mustn’t hurt her feelings.

"Chu Molin, do you think I’m a fool?" Qin Xue placed the rice before Chu Molin, looking at him intently.

"Of course not. My wife is so smart. If you’re a fool, then there are no smart people in this world," Chu Molin shook his head, pouring out sweet words as if they cost nothing.

"Smooth talker, I’m increasingly regretting it," Qin Xue said, frustrated.

"Regretting what?" Chu Molin asked, puzzled, looking at Qin Xue.

"Regretting that I didn’t even notice how I changed you," Qin Xue sulked while eating. The current Chu Molin was great, but the previous one made her heart race more.
