Jiang Jiajia wasn’t so naive as to think the other girl had spent a fortune on the bag just to pretend she was rich. It was obvious this wasn’t her only luxury item.

When Chu Lingxiu came out of the bathroom, she found Jiang Jiajia standing in front of her desk, staring blankly at her things.

This was a reaction Chu Lingxiu was all too familiar with. In fact, she absolutely detested it.

She didn’t even need to ask to guess what Jiang Jiajia was thinking. It was always the same: speculating about her background and what benefits could be gained by befriending her!

Jiang Jiajia heard the footsteps and finally snapped back to reality. Turning around, she saw Chu Lingxiu watching her, her eyes holding... was that a hint of disgust?

Dismissing the thought she was unwilling to accept, Jiang Jiajia looked at Chu Lingxiu and put on what she considered to be her most approachable smile.

"Hello, roommate. I’m Jiang Jiajia, a freshman in the English department. May I ask your name?"

Chu Lingxiu glanced at Jiang Jiajia, making no move to answer her question. Instead, with a look of indifference, she walked past her and sat down at her own desk. From the things her family had sent over in advance, she picked out her usual skincare products and started her routine.

Chu Lingxiu’s skin had always been on the dry side, so she was in the habit of doing a thorough skincare routine after washing her face.

And this was the one time she hated being disturbed the most.

And yet, some tactless person was chattering away right beside her.

"We’re going to be roommates from now on. I hope we can get along, don’t you think?"

Chu Lingxiu set down her face cream and turned to look at Jiang Jiajia, her face showing no hint of pleasure.

"I have to wonder, with your level of comprehension, how did you even get into B University?"

"What?"

Jiang Jiajia was stunned by Chu Lingxiu’s words, unable to process them for a long moment.

"I recall saying just now that I’ll be swapping dorms with that close friend of yours, which means we won’t be roommates for much longer. Since that’s the case, I don’t believe there’s any need for us to get along. I trust you can understand me now!"

After Chu Lingxiu finished speaking, Jiang Jiajia was stunned for a moment, then her face fell.

Jiang Jiajia now understood Chu Lingxiu’s earlier comment about her poor comprehension skills. But she truly hadn’t expected Chu Lingxiu to completely disregard her friendly overture and offer not even a shred of courtesy.

"Good. You understand now. Don’t disturb me again."

With that said, Chu Lingxiu turned away, pointedly ignoring Jiang Jiajia. Jiang Jiajia, her face grim, was stuck. She couldn’t leave, but she couldn’t stay either; she was agitated to the point of breaking.

Just as Jiang Jiajia was on the verge of exploding with agitation, the door to their dorm room opened.

Jiajia turned to see Gu Shuxin opening the door and coming inside, several elegant shopping bags in her hands.

"Shuxin, you’re back!"

At the sight of Gu Shuxin, Jiang Jiajia’s expression finally softened. She’d gotten along quite well with Gu Shuxin previously, and now that she was here, Jiajia was no longer on her own.

At Jiang Jiajia’s cry of "Shuxin," Chu Lingxiu’s movements paused for a moment, and her brows furrowed slightly.
