Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 438: Close Track
Han Ruochen smiled at the leader, but her smile was not actually a smile, which made the man shiver in fright. He suddenly had a feeling that he had joined hands with the devil, but he had no chance to back out, and that terrified him.
When Han Ruochen saw that the man was looking at her as if she were a monster with green fangs, she rolled her eyes and said to him, "There is no need to look so worried. I am not going to ask you to commit murder or arson." She took out eight hundred yuan from her pockets and threw the bundle at the leader of the thugs, who caught it with ease. She was glad that she had not submitted the money at the bank yesterday and brought the money with her. "This will be the advance payment to you and your boss. Just tell your boss what I asked you to do. Keep Xu Jin locked up, and it will be better if you can terrorise his family into making a move."
"As long as you help me catch my sister-in-law’s lover, I will give you the remaining two thousand and two hundred yuan."
Though Han Ruochen felt sorry for the money, in her heart, as long as she could get rid of the Xu family, nothing was more important than that. Money could be earned back, but such an opportunity might not return. This was the perfect time for her to make a move.
The leader of the thugs looked at the crisp eight hundred yuan bills and slapped them in his palm. "Very well. We will do as you say." Terrorising someone was the easiest job for them; what was more, the Xu family were a bunch of cowards. As long as he dared to raise his voice at them, they would not dare to even fart in front of them. This was a simple matter for him, and tracking someone down, that was not difficult either. Xu Yuanshu was not a big shot; she was just a common woman with no skills. As long as they dared to chase her, she would be caught sooner or later.
"Then I will be waiting for the good news." Han Ruochen curled her lips. She was in a good mood. It was like she was feeling sleepy and someone handed her a pillow. With such a good chance in front of her, she wanted to see if Xu Yuanshu would be able to survive or not.
She picked up the lunch box and then marched past the thugs, humming a soft tune which sounded like ’happy days are coming’. Once she walked away, one of the thugs could not help but say, "Boss, are we really going to work for that woman?"
In his heart, even though Han Ruochen was strong and capable, he looked down at her because she was a woman. How could he accept working for her?
"Or else? Do you want to go to jail?" sneered the leader. "You know very well if we fail in getting the money back, the boss will send us on a little trip to prison for fulfilling the responsibility he gave us. And that Xu family is not a thing. They don’t have two pennies to rub together. This is our best bet."
He also knew that the people under him did not like working for Han Ruochen, but what choice did they have? They were just little thugs who worked for money and had no connections. If their boss were angered by them, then they could only wait to be caught and thrown into jail.
The man stopped speaking and lowered his head without saying anything else.
The leader of the thugs snorted and took his men away. They had a lot of things to do.
On the other hand, Han Ruochen arrived at the hospital with a smile on her lips; she did not even show a bad expression to Han Ziyan, who was sitting next to her father, making Han Ziyan shiver. Since when had Han Ruochen started to smile at her in such a manner? That smile of hers was terror-inducing. Han Ziyan did not know that when Han Ruochen walked in, her eyes inevitably fell on her belly before moving away.
"Dad, are you feeling hungry?" Han Ruochen walked over and set the lunchbox down on the small table next to the bed. "I made some fish soup for you. Do you want to drink it?"
Han Yichen was indeed feeling a bit hungry. Though Han Ziyan came to see him at five in the morning and even cried about how Han Ruochen was not treating her like a human being, the girl never brought a bun for him to eat. He was so hungry that his front was sticking to his back. But as a man, how could he ask Han Ziyan to bring a meal to him?
If she was willing, then it was her filial piety, and if she was unwilling, what could he say to her?
He nodded. "I am a little hungry."
Han Ruochen heard him and hurriedly poured a bowl of fish soup for her father and then started to feed Han Yichen in small mouthfuls. No matter how one looked at it, Han Ruochen looked like a filial daughter and with Han Ziyan as her foil, the difference was even clearer.
The ward made a sniff at the delicious scent that had scattered all over the ward and praised, "Big brother, your daughter has really good culinary skills. The smell of this fish soup is really mesmerising." He had never smelt such a fragrant fish soup in his life. The fish soup that his wife cooked was bland and tasteless. There was also a lingering fishy scent.
"Do you also want a bowl?" Han Yichen asked with a proud smile on his lips. "You don’t know, but my eldest son’s skills are even better. Don’t look at how clumsy he is, but his skills are worth comparing to the imperial chefs. He was the one who taught my Chenchen how to cook. When the two of them are in charge of cooking, our family is destined to have a feast." As he spoke, he turned to Han Ruochen and urged her to pour a bowl of fish soup for his wardmate.
