Chapter 541: A Truly Good Mother-in-Law for Fu Mingxue

  • Next Chapter

Fu Mingxue had a class in the morning, so she couldn’t linger for long.

She left home right after finishing breakfast.

With Qin Wenshu there to accompany her mother, she felt much more at ease.

Qin Wenshu arrived at eight o’clock.

"Auntie, are you all set? If you are, we can head out."

Mrs. Fu immediately came out, carrying two large bundles.

"All set. Let’s go."

Qin Wenshu immediately stepped forward to help her with them.

When Mrs. Fu stepped outside, she saw a car parked there.

She was quite surprised.

Qin Wenshu quickly explained, "A friend of mine is giving us a ride. It’ll be much easier to get to the train station this way."

Taking the bus would have been a hassle.

Nothing was as convenient as getting a private ride.

"Oh, but we’re troubling your friend too much," Mrs. Fu said, feeling a bit bad.

"It’s no trouble. He’s happy to do it. Let’s go, Auntie."

Qin Wenshu urged her to get in the car.

Mrs. Fu also felt they shouldn’t keep the driver waiting, so after quickly locking the door, she got into the car.

Fu Mingxue had been wondering how the two little ones were adjusting at the Qin residence and wanted to go back early to check on them.

However, the data she was preparing for the First Auto Factory wasn’t ready yet, and she still had to make a trip there.

After all, the First Auto Factory had paid her a great deal of money.

And thanks to the system, she’d earned a nice sum on the side, too.

So, naturally, she had to do a good job.

Of course, even without the money, her conscientious attitude toward any job meant she wouldn’t have just let it go.

As a result, it was already midnight when she returned to the Qin family home.

She hadn’t expected that upon returning to the Qin residence, her mother-in-law would be coming down the stairs just then.

"Mom, why aren’t you asleep?"

"I’m thirsty." In truth, Mrs. Qin was simply worried because Mingxue was back so late.

When she heard the noise outside, she had come down again.

Now that she saw Mingxue was back, she could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

’Even though Beijing City is pretty safe at night, it’s still not completely safe for a young woman to come home this late.’

’What if she ran into some good-for-nothing hoodlum?’

"Oh, by the way, are you hungry? I can make you some wontons. I had Aunt Li wrap some this evening, just so I could cook them for you when you got back."

Fu Mingxue couldn’t help but laugh softly at her words. "Mom, and you still say you weren’t waiting up for me?"

Mrs. Qin: ...?

Fu Mingxue spoke again, "Mom, you should go on up to bed. I won’t eat tonight. Director Liu at the First Auto Factory had the cafeteria send us a late-night meal, so I’m not hungry right now."

Seeing that she truly wasn’t hungry, Mrs. Qin gave up on the idea of cooking wontons.

"Alright, then. The bedding in your room has all been freshly washed and dried. I also bought you some clothes and put them in the wardrobe for you to see. It’s getting late; you should wash up and get to bed soon."

Fu Mingxue nodded. "Okay."

She headed upstairs.

When she entered her room, she found that even though it hadn’t been lived in for a long time, it was exceptionally clean.

’It looks like her mother-in-law had really put a lot of care into it.’

She went over to the wardrobe and found it full of new clothes.

Looking at the clothes hanging in the wardrobe, Fu Mingxue couldn’t help but wonder—’Are all of these clothes new?’

’This mother-in-law is just too good to be true!’

’She was so thoughtful, she’d even prepared pajamas and underwear.’

’And it looked like they had all been washed, too.’

’She already had her own clothes stored in her space, which was why she hadn’t brought any.’

’After all, she’d assumed that everyone would be asleep by the time she arrived.’

’She could have just made up an excuse and said she brought her clothes with her.’

’Who would have thought that her mother-in-law would have bought her an entire wardrobe’s worth of clothes?’

She was truly moved beyond words.
