Chapter 447: His Wife Is at Home

The moment Mrs. Qin heard the sound of a car outside, she dropped the vegetables in her hands and hurried out.

She opened the main gate and, sure enough, a car was parked right at the entrance.

And her younger daughter-in-law was just getting out.

"Mingxue!"

Fu Mingxue walked up to Mrs. Qin with a smile. "Mom! We’re back."

"It’s so good to have you back!" Mrs. Qin was genuinely happy.

Then, seeing Mrs. Fu about to lift the two children out of the car, she hurried forward. "I’ll get them, I’ll get them."

She reached out and took Qin Keke.

This time, Qin Keke didn’t resist.

"Keke, I’m your grandma! Oh my, our Keke has grown into such a pretty little girl!"

Mrs. Qin absolutely adored her cute little granddaughter.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Fu got out of the car, holding the other child.

"You’ve gone to so much trouble," Mrs. Fu said.

Mrs. Qin immediately replied, "Oh, it was no trouble at all! You’re the ones who must be exhausted after such a long train ride! Alright, let’s not all stand around outside. Let’s head inside."

The two grandmothers entered the courtyard, each holding one of the children.

Fu Mingxue started helping with the luggage.

Seeing this, Qin Wenze said, "Let me get that, Sister-in-law. You go on inside. I can get all this in two trips."

"Alright. Thanks, Big Brother." Fu Mingxue didn’t go in empty-handed, though; she grabbed her own suitcase.

Mrs. Fu looked around at the clean and tidy courtyard.

"You’ve put so much care into this!"

’It’s true,’ she thought. ’Having good in-laws is a blessing for more than just my daughter.’

"Nonsense, we’re all family," Mrs. Qin said. "By the way, I have hot water ready. If you want to shower first, go right ahead. We can eat afterward."

She said this knowing that her younger daughter-in-law was a bit particular about cleanliness.

"I’m fine," Mrs. Fu said. "Let Mingxue go wash up."

Fu Mingxue shook her head. "I’m not in a rush. I’ll do it after we eat."

’Her brother-in-law is still here,’ she thought. ’How could I possibly go shower now?’

She glanced at the two little ones still being held in their grandmothers’ arms. "Mom, you two should put them down. Let them get down and take a look at their new home."

The two mothers heard her and thought she had a point.

They immediately put the two children down.

"Hao Hao, take your sister and go play. This is your home, after all."

The twins were incredibly curious about this new home.

It was bigger than the house they lived in before, and it looked so beautiful.

Perhaps because their maternal grandmother and their mother, the two people they were most familiar with, were both there, they didn’t feel so nervous anymore.

Hand in hand, the brother and sister went off to explore their new home.

Just then, Aunt Li came out from the small kitchen.

She greeted Mrs. Fu and Fu Mingxue.

Fu Mingxue chatted with her for a moment.

"Aunt Li, what delicious things are you making for lunch? I can smell so many wonderful aromas."

Aunt Li replied immediately, "Meat, fish, and boiled dumplings. It’ll be ready in just a little while."

She still had things cooking on the stove, so after greeting the mother and daughter, she returned to the small kitchen.

Meanwhile, Qin Wenze had finished bringing in all the luggage.

"Auntie, Sister-in-law, I’ll be heading back now."

Mrs. Fu immediately tried to make him stay. "Why don’t you stay for lunch?"

Before Qin Wenze could even speak, Mrs. Qin answered for him, "Let him go back. His wife is at home!"

Mrs. Fu wanted to ask, ’What does his wife being at home have to do with him eating lunch here?’

As soon as Qin Wenze left, Mrs. Qin explained, "His wife is pregnant. She’s been having terrible morning sickness for the past few days."

Mrs. Fu was stunned.

’Then again, she wasn’t that shocked. After all, people usually have children after getting married.’

Fu Mingxue’s expression, however, was another story. ’How is she already pregnant?’

’She had assumed Gao Lan would wait at least a year or so before even considering having children.’
