When she walked out to take a look—sure enough, it was her sister-in-law.

"Sis, what are you doing here?"

Qin Wenying beamed at her. "What, not happy to see me?"

"Of course you’re welcome. I’m just surprised."

"I got into a fight with my mother. I couldn’t think of anywhere else to go, so I came over to your place. I can stay for a little while, too."

Qin Wenying’s words left Fu Mingxue at a loss—’She’s admitting she fought with her mother that openly?’

"Mrs. Fu told me you’ve pulled two all-nighters in a row? And that you went to fix a plane last night?"

Fu Mingxue was speechless.

’Mom certainly is a fast talker.’

"—That’s right."

When Qin Wenying had first heard this from her, she’d assumed Mrs. Fu had misunderstood or missaid something.

But now that Fu Mingxue had confirmed it—she was stunned.

Her eyes were sparkling as she looked at Fu Mingxue.

"I knew you were capable, but I had no idea you were *this* capable. Awesome! You’re making all of us contemporary women proud. You’re a true role model for us."

Fu Mingxue chuckled. "I’m not as amazing as all that. It’s just my area of expertise. It’s like you being a pilot—of course you’re familiar with flying, right?"

"Besides, speaking of capability, I think you’re incredibly capable too."

"That’s from my military training. But of course, I’m capable too! Otherwise, how would I have been chosen? I was one in a million."

Why did Fu Mingxue like Qin Wenying?

Wasn’t it precisely because of this frank personality of hers?

"We’re both capable!"

The two exchanged a smile.

Fu Mingxue didn’t ask why she and her mother had argued.

Instead, she said, "That Gu Qingyun woman is at my factory. I gave her the money."

"Oh, and she called the next day, but my sister-in-law answered. Gu Qingyun came to see me later, but I didn’t say much, and neither did she."

For a moment, the smile vanished from Qin Wenying’s face.

But her expression returned to normal just as quickly.

"Alright, I got it."

She immediately changed the subject. "Are you going to the factory this afternoon?"

Fu Mingxue nodded. "I have to. I didn’t go in yesterday, and I missed this morning, so I really need to stop by this afternoon."

If she didn’t go in soon, Director Geng would probably send someone over to her house to check on her.

After all, she hadn’t requested time off today.

Qin Wenying asked directly, "In that case, can I come to your factory for a tour this afternoon?"

Fu Mingxue glanced at her. "You can, but after you visit the factory, you should go to the hospital. Shouldn’t you get that hand re-bandaged?"

Qin Wenying was touched.

’I can’t believe my sister-in-law is actually worried about my injured hand.’

"You should go find Doctor Xie. She’s excellent—I think she handles everything. She’s the one who did Qiaoqiao’s surgery last time."

"Oh, really? Alright, I’ll take your advice. I’ll make an appointment to see her."

Of course, Qin Wenying was concerned about her hand.

The sooner the injury healed, the sooner she could end her medical leave.

Mrs. Fu was already making lunch.

With Qin Wenying present, Mrs. Fu naturally made a few extra dishes.

When it was time to eat, Qin Wenying looked at the rich spread of dishes and couldn’t help but exclaim, "Mrs. Fu, you’re amazing! Everything smells so wonderful, it’s making my mouth water!"

The compliment made Mrs. Fu so happy she was practically giddy.

"Eat up! None of these dishes will affect your injury."

Mrs. Fu put a chicken drumstick in Qin Wenying’s bowl.

"Thank you, Mrs. Fu! I can help myself."

"Mom, stop giving her food. Let everyone serve themselves," Fu Mingxue said, thinking, ’What if she’s a germaphobe?’
